Great game! I love the 2.5D aspect of it. Impressive mechanics that work in favor of the theme.
Personally, I had a hard time managing the floors, accidentally unfolding them when I intended to fold more in a row.
The endless-style gameplay made it feel unnecessarily hard; I had no simple goal to work towards. It might have benefited from some milestones or simple goals at the earlier stages. But I think that is a personal grievance of mine, not a fault of the gameplay.
Good job!
what a nice concept and idea, i am really impressed! good effort
Impressive concept, but I wanted to see more. After some time it gets very easy and there's no real challenge anymore. I think this can be developped into a full game fairly easily, the idea is quite unique. I like the compress mechanic, it's the best feature of the game.
Good job!
A unique concept! Tower Tower Defense, very good mechanics!
Neat concept! Wish some of the micro-managing was easier or quicker with the folds to easily build up the tower higher while enemies attack.
I was unable to play this game, in both browser and from download
I don't think I know how to fix it but can you tell me what happened? Are you on windows? On wich browser it didn't work? Did the game load and you couldn't do anything of nothing loaded at all?
I am on windows, i use firefox, and in both cases it would load to the menu to choose to play/ tutorial/ exit, i could move my cursor over them but clicking any option had no effect
with the download option, i also move all my games to a spereate drive so idk if it requires being on the main c drive to work either
The problem is on me. I couldn't make the game work with the mouse cursor. It only plays with the keyboard.
Oh.... how odd i could have sworn i pressed every key to check that, ill try again to double check
EDIT: i think i some how missed using the arrow keys, sorry for that,
very fun game i love the way it builds up so you have to manage your tower as the game goes on
This is super fun and an excellent concept! The graphics were a bit glitchy for me (Chrome, Mac) but I really liked the range of options you have for your tower. The tutorial was very clear and not excessive, it still left a lot to be discovered. I'll be coming back to this one next time I'm procrastinating!
i like this take on tower defense mechanics! it's fun and hectic
fun game jank controls
13/15
It took a bit to get used to but then it's quite the fun game. The collapsing floors mechanic gave a unique action oriented approach to a genre that is otherwise mostly idle. I hope to see more of that in the future. Well done!
Goes to show the power of a tutorial/instruction manual. I didn't notice the tutorial at first and honestly though that the game was broken. When I reloaded, I saw the tutorial option, which clarified everything I needed to know (who would have thought?).
Overall, this game was really fun! A creative take on the theme and plays really nice once you get the hang of it. Seriously, awesome job!
Unique concept but as a steep learning curve. Had fun !
Very fun game and very creative idea!
I think that this is a good game, but some stuff felt odd not being in. I think selling buildings would've been nice and also adding mouse controls would be helpful, but it is still a good game.
I really liked the concept of the game, but I found the controls a bit weird. Maybe using the mouse would be a little nicer. Anyways, cool game!
I think stagering reactors and guns is really OP. I think being able to remove buildings you placed would have been nice. Also the menuing is pretty bad, but I ussually play with keyboard and mouse. Overall really good game.
I don't know. I just spent about 10 minutes without really building up more than 15 floors. There's not much incentive to build up when everything seems to happen on the bottom floors.
Interesting concept though!
This is actually a very solid idea for a tower defence game, I haven't really seen anything like this before.
Though I think the controls are a bit awkward, given how much micromanaging is involved. It would be nice to have access to the mouse for this.
I like the concept of the tower being able to unfold and fold depending on the circumstances, it seems that the energy levels only recharge if the generator part of the tower is open.
I also would have loved to see some instructions in the game description as it took a little while to figure it out. For anyone else reading:
How to play
- Use arrow keys to select "Play" on main menu, then press space to select it.
- Use the up/down arrow keys to select a section of your tower. Press space to 'fold / unfold' that section of tower. You'll need to do this to align your gun turrets with the enemies as they come in.
- Select the top part of the tower and press space to build new layers, then use arrow keys and space to pick the kind of section.
Thank you for the feedback.
I couldn't make the mouse control properly and feel responsive so I gave up and made the game entirely on keyboard
