Well polished, beautiful art, clever puzzle, some unique Aha moments. Very solid entry here.
the arrow level that i had to scale while in air was tricky (not sure if that's the answer for it but it worked :D)

spoiler (when i knew that the player is also scalable, then when i knew bullets get gravity, it was  a big ahaaa moment)

Well done! Good luck! ^^

Thank you! I do like some of the "aha" moments I managed to create, like the falling projectiles since the level sort of guides you to the solution. My favorite one is becoming small and just running underneath the gate.

This is one of the best I tried, nice music, nice sfx, nice art style, solid everything

what is really selling this for me is the level design, IS THIS REALLY MADE IN 4 DAYS CAUSE WOW, you took the simplest idea and made it shine so brightly, so many mechanics and ideas that happen because of the level design, shooting arrows midair? getting big so your shots are heavier? this is all creative and fun!.

this is all great for a jam game, the attention to detail is great, soft locked myself a few times, was extremely happy because of the restart button, I CAN FEEL THE EXPERIANCE BEHIND THIS GAME.

Would have loved some minor sfx and music changes when player or objects are in a different sizes, lower pitch on heavier player, small screenshakes on heavy jumps or heavy arrows falling, faster music and higher pitch sfx on small player especially since you made the actual player faster, but honestly this is knit picking

IF YOU ARE MAKING A POST JAM VERSION ILL BE WAITING FOR IT, THIS IS GOOD.

Wow, thank you for the extensive review. I am surprised I was able to hammer all these levels out in one day...

I've definitely have gotten a lot of experience in making game jam puzzle games, and I've mostly learned that making something simpler is most of the time going to be better.  I also got pretty lucky with this mechanic, since it worked very well within a puzzle setting. You know you got a good concept when making levels isn't too hard. But, I was scraping for some ideas near level 14 and 15.

I love your idea of changing effects and sounds when the player is different sizes, and I'm honestly surprised I didn't think of it, since I made the ballista sound change pitch depending on size.

I do plan on having at least a post-jam update, there are a lot of small bugs that can really effect the game experience.

One of the best I've played. Completely solid everything here, and fun puzzles!

great interpretation of the theme! GJ! the puzzle is fitting with the mechanics too.

This game had some really great puzzles that left me stumped. Good game!

Of all puzzle games I've played this jam, yours might be the best unitl now. Movement felt great and responsive, and you paid attention to smaller details that are very important like a restart screen or ways to not softlock

Developer

Thank you so much! I got sort of lucky that it was a lot harder to get boxes stuck against walls because you could always resize it out of it, but I always think that a reset or skip button is essential in Jam games where problems and unexpected behavior are bound to happen, I know this game doesn't always do what is expected with its collisions.

I fully expect GMTK to feature this game. It's so polished and fun! The controls are really responsive and the art style is cute!!

Developer

Thank you for the high praise! I've definitely refined my player movement controls over many iterations of making platformer games.

Really impressive game, probably my favorite so far! The puzzles, especially 8 to 15, are actually very clever and not immediately obvious, which I think is pretty crazy for a jam game (and the main reason I made a non-puzzle platformer lol). The art of course is also great, and the game looks quite polished overall.

A minor detail, I accidentally glitched myself or a box into the ground a few times in levels 4 and 15 when expanding it close to me or to another box. Then again, thanks for unlocking all levels up front, would have been a shame to get stuck.

Thank you so much! I tried to focus a lot on polish and general "liveliness" in this game compared to others I've made before, so I'm glad that people feel that. I think I also did a lot better at designing levels for this one, but I think a lot of that came from the simplistic mechanic itself. (I personally love level 10 myself)

I think having all levels be accessible in any way is very important for a game jam, since unexpected behaviors are bound to happen, and you want your players to be able to keep playing your game. Which is also why I think skip buttons are also important. I know I've sometimes wanted to keep playing a jam game, but found one level too difficult to continue going.

The attention to detail definitely shows, I fully expect to see your game in the best of video. And yeah realizing you can scale yourself was certainly a nice surprise, and then it even changes the behavior of your gun, just really well made.

Just unlocking everything is a painful lesson I just had to learn myself. I didn't do it and while I know of no major bugs, it just turned out to be too difficult.

Very well done! This is actually really similar to the idea that my team came up with, and I loved seeing the different directions you took it in! In particular I think you nailed the slow development of mechanics as the levels progressed. I loved the moment I first realized I needed to be large-sized so that my large bullets would arc. Also, very well polished! Kudos to you.

Developer

Thank you! I think a lot of people decided to try out the scaling objects within puzzles ideas, and it is interesting to see how everyone used it a bit differently. I did definitely try to create some fun moments where you could realize that new objects could be scaled that you didn't think of before.

This game is really well done! Puzzle design is really clever, especially the part with heavy projectiles :) The style is satisfying to watch, so overall great game)

Well done! Everything feels so polished. I can't believe this is done in such a short time.

Developer

It definitely made me consider how I ever gone anything done in the shorter 48 hours jams :)

Really Cool! Takes a simple sounding idea and expands it massively! I was so impressed when the ballistae were resizable!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I really wanted a sense of enjoyment for the player when they find out a new object is resizable, especially if they came with new features or attributes.

Now I just need to add the ability to scale the crows...
