Really nice, all the menus look good and feel good to click through and a nice vibe alround. I never felt in any danger though/overly challenged, my money quickly rose to double my target amount and stayed there so there were little stakes to any individual day, maybe balance with some negative daily cards?
We intentionally balanced it for the easy side for the Jam. Once we got the balance we liked it we reduced the gold requirements by about 10%
I would suggest adding more options for crafting possibly by using crafted items to craft more items and some more upgrades for like shop slots would make the game more fun to play longer. It was a bit exhausting clicking between the shop and the factory, but other than that the game was amazing. Amazing art and music and well balanced levels, wish it was longer.
The shop system was originally designed much differently, but we had to cut it for a more basic one.
Really satisfying game, I spend a long time on it. The art is great and the levels well balanced. I just found the fact of opening and closing menu quite exhausting : being able to see the craft menu and the shop in parallel would have been better.
I thought the same when I submitted it!
Hard to think it's a game jam game, amazing game, nicely done !
The art for the game looks really good, but at first I was confused because there was a lot of information all at once. However, when I understood what to do, the task system made it easy to know what to do next and I managed to get lots of gold to give to the dragons. A suggestion I would have is that there wasnt much motivation to collect, make and sell stuff. Anyway, well done on completing the game :)
I wanted to do a little story pop-up at the start of the game, explaining why you are doing what you are doing.
That's a very impressive entry! Very polished and neat graphics! It may feel easy but it lets us enjoy all the game has to offer!
We balanced the game on the easy side for the Jam.
Very entertaining game!
Very fun concept with satisfying art style and execution. Well done!
Cool idea and i like the rogue-like elements. The visuals are clean and the soundscape is relaxing, which works really well for this kind of game. I do feel that at the moment it is a bit too easy, mainly because you keep leftover money from one quest to the next, so if you start out strong, it's hard to fail. I would have also like to be able to check my bonuses to see where i was still lacking/which to choose next.
If you want to take it further, I think it would be cool if different customers gave different prices, depending on their preferences, and if you could use crafted items to craft even more high-priced items. Maybe even make it so you don't know who's in the shop before you start crafting, making it so you might need to sell some stuff below market price just to make ends meet? Anyway, lots of potential here!
Oh, and two (very minor) things i noticed: First, when you get 2 of each (or more) when harvesting, the two ressources seem to overlap somewhat. Don't know if that was intentional?. Second, i think the water amulet has the wrong name (was shown as 'Lapix elixir' for me). I'm aware that those are tiny things and they have no impact on my rating, just thought you might want to know ;)
Thanks for the feedback, time limitations, and having programmers drop out midway through without contributing anything (a programmer came in on the last day and saved the game) made it hard to hit every wishlist polish item.
Oh man, that sounds super rough! Makes me even more impressed with the end product!
Really fun idea, we love all the art, and the bonuses you can pick from at end of each day are a fun way to maximise profits. Awesome stuff!
Really nice art and audio. Unique idea for the theme. Good job!
Really cool concept. I enjoyed my time! Really wish you could see what the merchants are willing to buy while crafting stuff instead of switch between the buildlings.
I really wanted to implement that as well!
I like card games, and I love rogue likes. This game was really fun to me, I took a lot of pleasure.
I had fun with this - given how much UI there was it would have been nice if it was a little more polished, felt annoying to click on the shop to note recipes and then forget them in the crafting area to have to click back etc.
The perk cards were nice and I can see how they could be used if the game were tougher - it was very easy (which is fine).
The art is charming and the music was nice too
I would like more of this type of game, but with deeper mechanics - great job
Thanks, yea I had the idea of showing what the customers wanted on the Crafting Factory, but time limitations prevented that.
Cool idea! but I think some of the bonus cards make it a little to easy. At first I thought the cards where a daily bonus that should only work for that specific day. I think that would've incentivised more planning and prepping across days. Like, today I got a bonus on harvesting, so maybe I should harvest a lot today instead of crafting/selling.
really cute drawings of the dragons by the way :D
Conceptually I really like a town using the dragons resources and the dragons tolerate it for the exchange of taxes.
That would have been an interesting idea! We also balanced the game for the easy side for the Jam.
I wish we could unlock more recipes towards the end. But still, I enjoyed it!
We had to cut a lot of recipe ideas due to time.
Great game, beautiful art style, I had a lot of fun playing it! I only wish it had new items e.g. requiring more ingredients towards the end :)
Adorable art style!
Really fun, well balanced mechanic and overall addictive to play. Oh and a beautiful art style. Well done.
This was very fun to play! Once you get the hang of it I think it gets a bit hard to lose, which ends up being a bit repetitive on the long run. Nonetheless, I managed to finish it almost without noticing, which I guess is a good sign! Great job on this one!
