Great idea. I really loved the fact that you can move and rotate everything to experiment and create ridiculous monstrosities :D

Game is much, much more fun at later stages when you can actually build and upgrade, but to get there you need to survive the (in my humble opinion) way to tough beginning with almost nothing.

Nevertheless, kudos for making this ;)

Thanks for playing and providing feedback! The difficulty is definitely a commonly suggested area of improvement.

Nice space shooter. It's fun to add modules and make the spaceship bigger. Good game. :-)

Thanks for playing!

Very pretty effects, I initially couldn’t grasp how you’re supposed play until simply accepting that getting hit is an inevitable fact of life. As some QoL tips, the FOV zooming out depending on ship size would be very nice - also, currently all ship parts seem to activate at the same time (healing, auto-lock missile, etc.) - it’d be nice to have a way to have them not be in perfect sync. All in all, from one Roguelite dev to another: Well done!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! The camera FOV increasing with ship size is a good area of improvement. Glad you liked it!

Really good take on the theme, back up by gorgeous visuals and sfx, and a great gameplay loop. 5/5 game gg

Thanks a lot for your kind words and review!

The game is very hard at first, I thought. But I try playing several more times, and got addicted to avoiding meteorite, collecting heal, and upgrading.
Overal, I love how the game is hard but still playable and enjoyable, which makes it challenging and fun.

Also, I have not reach higher level yet to judge, but the bigger my spaceship ship, maybe the larger the camera field? It's a little hard to avoid being hit while being so huge 🤣

Btw, thank you for your comment on my game 😉

Glad you enjoyed the challenge!

Yeah others have also suggested larger camera FOV as the spaceship grows. Thanks for playing and reviewing!

Okay the graphics are stunning, very beautiful art, menus and fonts.

The sound seems fitting, I enjoyed the background music a lot. Player for like half an hour and it didn't get repetitive. Kudos on the sound effects too.

Overall the game is amazing, there's a lot going on behind the curtains here, well done.

Here's some feedback:

  • I thought the compass at the bottom center could be a bit easier to read, not sure if just changing the text color.
  • When I got to the game over screen, the ship still boosted as I clicked, it also was showing the speed under the compass, as if I hadn't really lost.
  • I think there's a small typo on "missle module".
  • The background felt a bit janky when you moved, as if the camera had some lag to update.
  • What were the buttons like maximize in the Upgrade Spaceship window supposed to do?
  • I wish the shop would open a bit faster. Also once I opened it up an asteroid hit me and the explosion smoke got in front of some of the shop elements like my ship base and the "Add slots".
  • It's damn hard to control the ship when you want to make short turns.
  • Do health power ups have a timer to explode? At first I thought my laser could destroy them. Maybe having some visual cue that they are going away soon could help.
  • Upgrading the ship made it have disconnected slots, maybe there could some placeholder for when you still haven't put armor enhancers? The single empty slot at the center didn't collider with the asteroids.
  • Near the score at the top right of the screen, I had this "654 kills" written, what was it?

That's it! My highest score was 30459 points for 3:37 minutes, it felt like just putting a lot of lasers on the initial ship was the way to go for me. Congratulations on a fun game!

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback! The compass and speed were just meant to be a cosmetic detail, but it definitely could have been improved 😊. A lot of small issues, like the lagging background and typos probably could be fixed if we had more time to play-test and balance.

A lot of the things you mentioned were known bugs, like the kill counter not being functional, or allowing detached modules, for which, again - a little more time could have helped with.

Thanks for playing and providing this very detailed feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed.

Very fun! I love how you can put modules wherever you want!

Developer

Glad you liked the building system! The idea definitely was to allow lots of customization for everyone's play style.

My first idea going into the jam was similar to this and it feels awesome seeing it be made to such a high quality.

really enjoyable and fleshed out experience, can see a LOT of effort went in. Nice job

I had a blast playing. The build and upgrade aspect is really well done. Also, the movement of the ship is pretty good and adds to the game as a skill based reward for mastering how to correctly move around threats. Accessing the shop by clicking a button in the corner while trying to avoid enemies might be the only problem I had (maybe there is a key input to open it, but I might have missed it). But nonetheless, this was an amazing experience.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed. You can click TAB to open the shop, which was shown in the "Guide" screen but we definitely should have been clearer and shown it in the game.

Ship building and upgrading are done very well. Visuals and sound effects are really cool too. But i had to replay it couple of times due to dying in just 3 hits in the beginning. I think lowering the diffuculty for the beginning of the game could improve the experience a lot. I also felt like astroids spawn too close to the player, i could see them popping up in the screen while going with full speed and this makes them hard to dogde due to the movement or the size of the ship so maybe spawners could be further away.
Overall a great and well polished game that could assist player in the beginning to smooth out the overall diffuculty, great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and reviewing! The difficulty seems to be a common struggle, that's definitely something to work on in the future, maybe dedicating more time to playtesting and balancing.

Cool game, really satisfying elements!

Similar idea to our entry, really enjoyable experience.  The ship building aspect is very well done.

Thanks for playing! These games really are similar...

Love the upgrade system, especially since you can create wacky looking stuff hihi

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

Fun game, I love the mechanics for upgrading ships. The difficulty is just right for me

Developer

Thanks for playing and providing feedback! You're one of the few people who didn't mind the difficulty :)

The upgrade system in this game is fire! Very detailed and polished for a 4 day jam. The first time I upgraded my ship, I didn't add any thrusters, so I couldn't move anymore and died in like 3 seconds, ha ha. I feel that there is potential for a lot of depth with the endless possibilities of the upgrade mechanics. Also loved the art style. Every sprite and UI element looks so polished. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and reviewing! The polish was one of the top priorities for this game, so I'm glad you liked it. There's definitely a lot of ways to expand on this game!

Submitted(+1)

Polished game, neat artstyle, I love building and customizing my ship! Maybe a little bit too punishing, but great game!

Developer

Appreciate the feedback! The difficulty definitely could have been improved.
