Really cool game! Unique idea idk how u did it with unity but good job!

Developer

The magic of shaders! Thx for a nice review!

Submitted(+2)

Really cool! And hella scary with the enemies which jumpscared me a lot :'D Wish it was a bit faster somehow. Became slightly annoying with the restriction of scaling the window. Either a more forgiving/QoL check of when you can start dragging the window.

Developer

Thx for playing! What exactly did you find annoying - the fact that window size is limited or the way resizing itself feels?

Submitted(+2)

Wow the game is so cool, i love the idea ! Very good job !

Haha thank youuuu! We will work on it even harder after game jam!

Submitted(+1)

I'd love to see more of it !

Developer (1 edit)

We are working on a Twitter page for the game, so that we could notify everyone about the upcoming updates ;)

Either today or tomorrow we will add link to it on the game's page https://awedev.itch.io/pixel-break

This is so creative, and fits the theme so well, gj!! The visuals are neat, and the sound when you spot an enemy is genuinely scary lol

Well done overall :)

Developer (1 edit)

Ayyy so happy to hear :D

You can't imagine how HAPPY I was when reading your comment. Because I found the spotting sound and decided to use it that way hahaha

Once again, thank you so much!

Developer(+1)

Yes! its genuinely crazy how good of a job you did with finding the right sounds in such a short time! We integrated the sounds only an hour before the deadline or so XD

Submitted(+2)

This was so creative! I enjoyed playing it!

Developer

Soo glad to hear that!

Submitted(+2)

This has to be the most creative game for this jam! Well done!

While I did enjoy the game-play, I'm not gonna lie, having to drag the windows was tedious. Very good concept, but it made the gameplay exhausting. Also: Imagine this game style for horror games.

This game SHOULD win creativity though, in my opinion. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Haha, not going to lie, most of the play testers we had always had a jumpscare when finding first enemy... and especially the sound.

We will try our best to keep up the work, win and might even improve the project to put it on Steam ;)

Submitted(+2)

I really was thinking no one was going to mess with the idea of window scaling . I love the game idea and the concept . The art looks really nice too ! Overall , well done and I look forward to this being a full game after the jam is over .

Best of luck !

Developer(+1)

We will consider continuing development since people seem to really like the idea. Thx for playing!

A very creative idea of using the game windows scale! Crazy cool mechanic. Sometimes get mini jumpscare when I scale the window bigger lol. Great art direction as well, love the broken colorful monster thing in contrast of the mainly monochromatic game. The UI is chef's kiss. Great job! :)

Developer (1 edit)

Bro I love you. As the person who did all the art alone super nice to read it < 3

Submitted(+1)

What a neat idea! I really love that the mechanic wasn't gimmicky but was essential to solve the puzzles/confrontations! Great job! Also you owe me a pair of pants, because I **** myself when the first enemy appeared :D

Developer

Haha yeah, our game can be a full-on horror sometimes XD.  Glad you enjoyed your time with the game!

Submitted(+1)

This is a real borders scale game. MIne looks so fake lol

Developer

Hey stop it! I really like your use of the theme for puzzles. Especially the clipping through the border part really gave me that AHA moment.

Submitted(+1)

That AHAed me too, as a bug in my early developing

Developer

haha cool! Love it when bugs come out as game mechanics in the end!

Submitted(+2)

wow this game is amazing

i like the animations

Submitted(+2)

The game : *They* can't hurt you if they see you

Me : Who ?

They : *appears*

Me with a very high volume : Oh my god !!

Anyway, nice entry, very cool mecanics, this is not something we see everyday !

Developer

Hahahaha

My mom would 100% agree to your comment ;)

Submitted(+1)

Greate concept! 5 star

Submitted(+1)

Really cool mechanic, loved the art style too!

Submitted(+2)

Man this game is crazy cool. Really good job! Beat the whole thing

Developer(+1)

We are thinking about improving upon this game after the jam is over, so at some point there will be a bunch more levels!

;)

Submitted(+2)

Such a good mechanics! Super enjoyable game. Congratz to the team!

Developer

Yo thx for playing! Send the link yo your friends haha

Developer

Hey did you leave a rating? It shows 0 total ratings on our side even tho we have downloads and good comments...

Submitted(+1)

Yes! It shows me "Rated by 6 people so far"

Developer

Yeah, that's correct. Thank you very much again! My fellow developer was confused by 2 different rating systems haha

Submitted(+2)

It looks bombastic!

Developer

So glad to hear! :D

Submitted(+2)

Hell yea. The core mechanic is both very novel and is expertly built upon by the following mechanics (the bullets bouncing and the enemies are awesome). I did find that it controlled kind of clumsy. I feel like being able to control the window with my keyboard might've been nice.  Wonderful work, and cool aesthetic too

Developer(+1)

We thought of keyboard binds for the window resizing as well but decided that simulating the right feel of dragging the window around your desktop with your mouse is more important than the convenience of key binds. Fortunately, THEY can't hurt you if you don't see THEM, so you can take your time resizing.  Thanks for playing!

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Hey! Who knows, we might implement that feature as experimental in the next updates (if the game will look promising ;))

Submitted(+1)

Wanted to add too that I got jump scared HARD by the first enemy. Like full on yelped. I love how the tight window forces you to make the game really tense

Submitted(+2)

Really nice gameplay mechanic love the idea of the view based on a limited window

Developer

Ayyy that's so nice to hear! <3

Developer

Thx for the review! Have you completed all the levels?

Submitted(+1)

Yes all of them ^^

Developer

We can cook some more XD. I had like 10 more level ideas that we didn't have time to implement.

Submitted(+2)

That could be cool x)

I was in a similar state for my game had more ideas but needed to make what I already had work ^^
