Full marks from me, this game has one of the more unique interpretations of the theme I think!  Using the limited visibility to create a horror element is really fantastic, I liked baiting the monsters to a section of the screen and then trapping them there.  The sound effect that plays when they become visible is really nice to make it more of a 'jump scare'.

One bug I found was if you shoot a bullet and resize the screen while its in flight, the bullet can escape the bounds of the game.  It injured my Unreal icon. :(

Wonderful job!

I like that you liked the game! And the sound, hell yeah... the moment I heard it I knew it had to be for when enemy is spotted haha

Honestly, we also saw that "feature" for the bullets to get out, so we might just turn it into an actual feature :D

Thank you so much for playing!

Awesome idea and such great execution, I loved the new mechanics added and thought it was great that you had to dodge your own fired bullets, really added to the strategy of how you resized the window.

Brilliant game!

Developer

Hahaha yeaaah! At first we thought to maybe make bullets go through, but then my other developer said we should leave it as it would add some spice in the gameplay.

Thank you for playing! < 3

Really cool game. The game mechanic is entirely unique and interesting. The game was hard, though, so I didn't play through it all. The player collision also might be better if it was smaller so you can move through tight corridors better, but that's just me nitpicking. The game is great!

:D

Developer

Eyyy thank you for the feedback! Yeah, we already know about some of these which will definitely be improved in the next updates (P.S. planning to upload on Steam...)

But yeah, certainly give it another try ;)

i've seen the window scaling theme a few times but using the limited info available to the player to make for a kind of horror game was very smart, bravo!

Developer(+1)

Ahhh, so glad you liked the "horror" part of it. This is all thanks to my fellow designer-developer.

Did you also get jump scared when you first saw the enemy? xD

I had a similar idea to use window scaling to tackle to theme but WOW, you absolutely nailed it. This was so well done, very impressive. We should talk shop sometime as I would love to hear how you decided what sort of gameplay to go with once coming across this idea.

Love the art too.

Developer

Hey, as the game designer of this game, I'm crazy glad to hear that you liked the gameplay formula! If you want to chat about my design process feel free to contact me on Discord. My name there is: evgenistan

This was an absolutely fantastic idea, and great execution! A definite standout for the game jam. Full stars!

Developer

My only regret is that I didn't have time to make more levels before the deadline. Im glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+2)

Wow, very impressive! No clue how you managed to make this, but it's awesome!

Developer(+1)

We have sold our souls to the Demon of Shaders to grant us unmatched power! We are happy you loved it!

Submitted(+2)

One of the best games I've seen, well polished and such an interesting idea

Developer

Hey thanks a lot! Glad you had fun with it! You can subscribe to our Twitter for updates on the project's future!

This was great. Love the style and the resizing window mechanic, though sometimes the resize handles wouldn’t show up just when I really needed them to!

Developer

Yeah it gets a bit glitchy especially when its at minimum size. We'll keep working on the project and fix this and other imperfections. Thx for playing!

I think I have another favorite for the jam’s winner?

Developer

Heeey, for sure you do! Very happy to hear :D

Such a creative game! I'm also impressed by the variety of the gameplay elements. Visuals are also cool and cohesive. I had a lot of fun playing, great game!

Developer

Ayy thank you for the comment! It means a lot to us!

I love the idea of scaling the screens as a mechanic. It took me a while to realize there was a max height and width for the screen and I thought it wasn't working at first, but I'm glad I figured it out because it is really good and original! Also, I liked the marketing and trailer video, I would love to see Mark play this

Developer(+2)

Thx for playing! We would love to see Mark play it too haha!

I was searching for a game like that in this jam ! Not dissapointed.

Developer

I was searching for a comment like that. Not disappointed either!

Submitted(+2)

Great game ! The creativity here is amazing, glad you could make it work so we can experiment such a creative game ! Keep up the good work :)

Developer(+1)

Thank youuu!!! Had to filter so many ideas before deciding on this one haha

Submitted(+2)

Wow, this creativity is so novel that I can't find the words to express it. I can’t imagine how it was achieved; it's amazing!

Developer(+1)

Ahhh stop ittt :D To be honest, we are also happy it worked out. Will try to keep up the great work!

A really nice game! Cool mechanics. Creative idea, good and enjoyable level design. I really liked the cyber / glitchy art style. Not much to say, because the game is great already. But maybe player shouldn't be able to get more bullets and hearts when they're at max. Also nice sound design. I hope to see more creative games like this from you!

Developer

We are planning to expand on the mechanics to make a bigger game out of the concept and release it on Steam. We will post a link to the project's twitter page later today. Thx for playing!

AWESOME CONCEPT! 5/5 for creativity! Good use of the theme, but would have scored 5 without the theme! Overall very solid game and I loved figuring it out. I encountered issues when trying to finish level 2 tho, I got reset after finishing it.

Developer

I think you could accidentally collide with an enemy that was just next to the screen border. You don't see them but if you get close enough to the edge you can still collide with an enemy and get reset. Thanks for a good review!

you're welcome, good luck!

I love games like this that try something new. And the most impressive part is that it's pretty intuitive, and the UI for the inventory is super creative!

Developer(+1)

I'm super glad you enjoyed it! I was like "damn what shall our UI be? Whats our game even about? Application windows? Then ill just make a bunch of windows and call it a day"

Submitted(+2)

SUCH A COOL CONCEPT!
