Great game it is a lot of fun and its a great concept that is very well executed. And it has a beautiful design. Great work!
Thanks, not sure you saved your rating? Added yours to my list to play
Looks great and is quite fun, my score was 1157!
Also thats a pretty cool leaderboard solution might use that in the future
It's great 100% recommended I had it added in like 15 mins!
Thanks for playing!
Fun concept! Very addictive. The music and SFX also fit the game play quite well. I did have some feedback though:
The drawing mechanic feels very clunky from a UX perspective. Initially I was very confused why the trail kept fizzling away, maybe a quick pop up message saying that it was too far for my current capacity or some such would’ve been very helpful.
The drawing system is also a bit buggy. When I drew a route initially, it just never displayed the outline to show that it created successfully. So I kept trying to draw one but it never worked (because there already was one there, just hidden to me unless I placed my cursor exactly on it.).
The initial world spawn felt like it didn’t have a compatible set of planets within my reach at all. I don’t know if you had checks in place to make sure this didn’t happen, or if I just didn’t look hard enough.
I think overall most of my gripes are just a lack of polish. Otherwise, neat game!
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
The max route length leads to a poor experience and will be removed.
Hmm I will try to reproduce you issue with the route not spawning... Maybe it was invalid and red so difficult for you to see? Either way I will investigate!
The initial spawn has a trade station that accept scrap and ore. Scrap being a supply good on almost all nearby planets and ored being an unlock but is present on all of the rocky planets.
But the discovery of these is a poor experience and one that I aim to improve.
Thanks 👍
I played 30 minutes and got $2.5m, so it kept my attention a long time. I liked that it was slow paced, no rush to it, nothing bad happening to worry about. Nice relaxing music (I turned it up!). I would have liked to be able to right-click on a trade route and delete it, instead of needing two left-clicks. I could see people playing an expanded version of this game.
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed. Right clicking on routes to remove sounds like a good UX improvement I would worry about panning the camera and break a route though - I will have a play around.
Thanks for you kind words!
Ooh, can you pan by right-clicking? I was using the keyboard to pan, thinking "I'd really like to be able to pan with the mouse" 😂
I think it's a unique idea with various elements to manage, like planet compatibility, asteroid hazards, fuel, and ship quantities, which adds depth. I agree with other comments that the progress feels slow, but overall, it’s a solid game with an interesting space theme! My game also uisng a space theme please give it a try :D
This was a lot of fun. Kudos for adding a bulk buy button. The one thing I would change is having the routes not disappear when you've drawn to far, since It always takes several tries to connect planets that are a valid distance. Excellent work!
Yea, now you have mentioned this I feel that the game is less fun with the route length. Will have to try without it or at least a large one
I think the problem is the the routes snap and it adds extra length invaliding them... Thanks for your feedback!
Loved it! Very strong "one more turn" feel to it, even though it's real time.
Thanks for playing!
Once you get the hang of it, this game is super addictive. I could see there were lots of different approaches to reaching the money goal, which I appreciated, and by the end, it's super satisfying to see the gold bar fill up. Got lots of suggestions, but that's only because I want to see more of it.
Amazing job, especially for a solo programmer!
Thanks for the kind words and for playing ❤️❤️
All suggestions are welcome too 👍
You went super crazy on this one, we can feel that ahah but once you understand everything correctly the game is quite cool !
Yea think I went a little to big and should have polished more - Thanks for playing!
Really cool idea. I absolutely love games where you have to optimize your approach in order to get the most out of them. The visuals are also really good, and I really appreciate the simple but well-understandable UI. This can really make or break a game. The overall atmosphere is also nice.
I have to say, though, that at the beginning, it was kind of hard to understand what to do, so a small tutorial would be awesome. But I get that's a lot to ask for in a jam.
Besides that, I think this is a great starting point, and I am really interested to see where you take it from here.
Good job!
Yea the player onboarding is very poor, thanks for playing ❤️
First things first, thank you for setting the default music volume as low as you did.
I liked the clean and easy to understand UI. I had trouble drawing routes, it felt like I was doing something wrong, but couldn't figure out why. Some feedback on what goes wrong when failing to create a route would be nice, as I didn't think that there would be a max route length until later in the game.
One of the routes I drew didn't get the blue line, but the trade route did count as I saw a ship moving back and forth between the two planets. So not a game breaking bug, just wanted to let you know.
I liked the style too, very pleasing to the eye. The game did feel a bit slow at times, with downtime I just spend waiting, but this is probably me playing the game in a non-optimized way, or perhaps a matter of polishing a bit more in terms of prices for upgrades and such, better allowing the player to get that snowball running. This is also something that I need to look more into in my own game, that's for sure!
All in all a very nice and cohesive game, especially considering that you made it yourself. Well done!
yea the starting route length is maybe a little harsh. Yea totally agree with the feedback, the entire project needs a decent UX/pacing pass.
Thanks you very much for playing!
A little hard at start but really satysfying to play. Great graphics and subtle music. Good job!
Super polished game, wow! Love the art.
That game made me relax a lot, with that music and that art style. I love when it happens. Some little things I can say is that the route making or the power up could have some graphics effects for making it more clear, dunno. But it is a very cool gam
Good idea. The Drag isn't bad but it also isnt too great. Overall good idea and the art style sinks in after a while
Thanks for playing - what would you improve with it
Slightly better UX and details of the planets. sometimes the drag just disappears. A bit better Indication for what's happening within the trade route
yea thanks, the drag disappear at it has a max length - its not explained that well. Thanks for the feedback!
I like the pace of the game! The music was subtle, but it kept me engaged, and the art style is nice! Excellent concept overall!
Thanks for playing!
I took way to long to understand the depth of this game, still I got to reach 2M5 easily after. Liked the art, some little details when you zoom-in despite the low-poly and great atmosphere overall. Good job !
Thanks for playing! Glad you made it to the end!
Basically openttd in space! I like it
Yup that was kinda the idea - thanks for playing
