Love the art! the background image on the game site is amazing! I was thinking on doing some "candycrush" game with dice as well, but the execution you got in here is really awesome, great job.
I love the aesthetics and the chain reactions! I was a bit confused because my board started with several rows of 3 already that were untriggered and after more dice spawned there was sometimes rows of 3 that I think should've made a chain reaction? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding but that was a point of confusion for me. Otherwise, it was a lot of fun to play and well polished!
Busy game. A lot happening at once. Fun even just to watch the dies roll
I love this one! So many clever dice grid puzzlers this year, and this one is up there with my favourites!
The pixel art is SO good... I wish my dice looked that great, though... Amazing entry!
I just click randomly, and it’s hard to follow at first, but still sooo satisfying to watch, especially when there is a chain reaction going on. The graphics and the sounds felt polished. It’s a great time killer overall, nice work!
A unique take on the theme. It gets more interesting the more you play. The visuals are really polished. Though, the audio could be more satisfying, especially when there's a combo going on.
Game seems very slow at first, and then you get your first matches and everything just chain reacts causing much dopamine, and then it became very fun with how all the different blocks chained in together. Very fun game.
Really clever concept for a match-3 style puzzle game!
At first I thought it was going to be mechanically a bit shallow, until I realized that it's less about actually trying to line up the dice, and more about finding which dice will trigger the most at once, which causes very satisfying chain reactions.
I kept being surprised by how many types of dice were being introduced, and it was a really compelling motivator to keep playing. I found myself excited to unpack and understand the effects of each dice, and to keep playing to see new ones.
Something I'm curious about design wise is whether the dice are slightly weighted to land on a matching face or not.
There is a small trick in the code. Most of the time its completely random but when you roll the same dice 6 times in a row it will roll each number once. It is just a small rig to the dice for enjoyment so players dont end up rolling dozens of times trying to get one number at the start of the game. But don't tell anyone!
Yayy I got to 33700. I feel proud of myself :) Congrats on your submission r0ckems0ckem, niallb96 and OutdoorHerbivore!
I really like that the dices going nuts and staring at them changing colors
Fun game and satisfying to play. I do feel like it's to much randomness, as I don't even feel like I have done anything and then the chain reaction just continues for a while.
It's actually completely random for all the chain reaction stuff. It's just that when you roll all 8 dice around another dice the odds of getting 3 in a row is like 35%. So in chain reaction that happens a lot so I think it ends up being very likely so get a match. Just the nature of 6 sided dice, but it does mean that you can just keep matching for a while...
my strategy quickly became finding the dice type that would re-roll the max number of dice, since its really an odds game to get matches. Still getting that chain of multiple matches felt really good!
Nice art style and unique take on the theme, but I'm so confused what is going on.
Really liked the coding, works really well. Good job whoever did that. The music is a bit annoying.
At the start it was a bit confusing, but the more a played, the more fun it was!
Enjoyed discovering the effects of each type of die, and the reactions were satisfying to achieve. Smooth gameplay combined with fun music/sfx, overall polished game. Great work!
Well polished, felt super nice to play. The strategy was interesting to try and figure out!
Cool Game! btw, is 105050 a high score?
Unfortunately not! 190 350 is the one to beat from what I’ve seen
I keep trying and I can't quite cross the 140,000 mark >:(
Seems on par with some fully fledged match-3 games, though I think having the new dice come from above (and the other dice fall down) would be more dynamic and create more possibilities for matches!
