How does your game fit the theme?
Dice Raiders roll onto the screen and when you attack them, your attack depends on the side of the die you aim for. Gameplay is a ‘roll of the dice’ because you have to knock off dice at such a fast rate that you end up having to react to your own attacks as if they were randomized.

Loved the hookshot - grappling hooks make all games better!

Developer

Yes, it's a known fact that grapple hook = good game. Thanks for playing + commenting!

The viking hats! It's a fun take on the theme :)

Developer

Thanks!

Very fun and polished game based on a simple and strong idea!

Maybe the click spamming strategy it's a little bit too powerful, but overall very good job! :D

Developer

I agree, when the game gets chaotic spamming is basically the best strategy, which makes the game less interesting. Glad you liked it anyways!

Really dynamic and it feels great to throw all this dices away.

I don't think you can pay much attention to which face to aim for since all are attacks anyway and it's not really readable in the middle of the action. Maybe if the faces had different colors it would have been clearer ?

Developer(+1)

That's a very cool suggestion to improve the readability. We definitely were struggling to find a balance between chaos and strategy, and colors on the dice might help improve both aspects. Thanks for the feedback!

Fun game, I really liked it!

The concept is there and the art is pretty cool too.

Developer

Glad you liked the art! Thanks for playing

The concept is fun and the hats on the dice are cool, but the movement gets so repetitive, especially since the dice barely move around after you attack them. But I appreciate all the attack animations and the idea itself is very novel!

Developer

Great feedback, thanks so much!

+1 for the Wilhelm scream. I really enjoyed the mayhem, good job!

Developer

Haha thanks!

Pretty cool! I think the camera shake was a bit too aggressive for me

Developer

Glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback on the camera shake.

Every attack feels *extremely* good to use, the sound effects and animations are perfectly crisp and crunchy. The most effective method for me definitely seemed to be just spamming attacks, but balancing like that is always one of the hardest things about jams and it was still extremely fun haha.

I think the movement controls felt a little floaty and weird but that might have been because I was playing the webgl version.

Overall, extremely good job, probably my favourite game of the jam so far.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback on the movement. It was a new thing for us, trying to make a character controller that could bounce around against the dice but still feel good, and I don't think we really nailed it. We definitely didn't tune the balancing quite right either, lol. Anyways, I'm glad you liked it and thanks for the compliments!

Damn, this game is really fun. Great mechanics, simple to master and the shake, sounds and particles are amazing! Overall a wonderful submission!

a game with a lot of great things. art, music mechanics everything great, the only downside i felt was the extreme screenshake, maybe decrease it a little and also a little bit of distinction between the grab and hookshot would be cool,it gets fast paced so it helps.

Developer

The feedback about grab and hookshot is very helpful, I can definitely see how that can be frustrating. And yeah, we maybe overdid it a little with the screenshake, haha. Glad you liked it anyways!

Damn this game is really fun. I dont know what to say everything is great. the art is nice, the sound effect is really satisfying, the gameplay is just fun.

Developer

Wow, very kind of you to say. Thanks for playing!

A very unusual idea! The game is fun but becomes chaotic really fast. I felt a bit like the main mechanic doesn’t really work - it’s pretty much impossible to track which side the enemy is rotated, so I ended up just spamming left click everywhere :D This seemed way too effective, by the way, - especially series of frequent dynamites or shotguns are a guarantee that you’ll knock the enemy off the board. Anyways, a fun idea, good job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I think with more tuning we really could've tapped into some interesting strategy with our core mechanic, but we really just ended up with chaos. Which is fun, but not exactly what we were going for.  Thanks for playing and commenting!
