How does your game fit the theme?
"rolldown" is a puzzle roguelike where you are the dice. Roll to move, and move to smack enemies. The higher the roll, the stronger the attack!

Great use of dice movement and needing to have the correct sides up to win fights.
Appreciate that!
An amazing take on the roll to move genre!
TYSM :)
This might just win. Crazy addictive, with such a great concept and execution. Really satisfying when you get surrounded and still manage to avoid taking a hit. And on top of that it's funny, looks great and the soundtrack absolutely slaps. My only nitpicks would be the lack of a current floor number on the screen, and having to wait to proceed when a chest gives you an item you don't want, but those are small gripes because overall this is just a really high quality game, in terms of concept as well as execution and presentation.
Really appreciate that, thank you so much! Means a lot
I really loved this game, it's impressive what people can do in such short amount of time. It took me a while to understand the rules tho (the number of eyes thing) since I don't like reading.
Appreciate it!
This was a super creative concept! The art & music was really cute too!
The balancing was a little off. Some items, like the Death staff, can carry you through multiple floors (just run away until it's recharged). Others, like the Spin In Place staff, just kinda waste your turn. Balancing the items a bit more would be nice, as well as giving the player a choice of two items to take so they have more control over their run.
Also, you keep your side between floors, which is fine - except for that I was able to just go back & forth between the 5 & 6 sides and ignore the eye mechanic for the most part. Perhaps randomizing the player's rotation as well as position each new floor would fix that?
The controls & UI are really nice, and I love the way the cyclops greets you each run!
Thank you! Really great feedback. I agree that some items like the death wand are pretty strong, but every item can be used to skip a turn, which is useful for controlling the position of enemies relative to you. So I think the spin wand is pretty strong cause it's a turn skip on a 2 move cooldown. Interesting to see how different people approach the game!
The issue is that if enemies are far away, you don't need to use the Spin Wand to flip over, and if the enemies are right on top of you, using the Spin Wand will get you hit. I can imagine pretty specific scenarios where you'd want the Spin Wand, but I never encountered any.
Yeah I agree, it's pretty niche. I use it a lot against the knight though. If the knight is one tile away, you can use it to force the knight to come right up to you and hit him. Pretty specific tho. But definitely if I do an update after the jam ends I'm going to overhaul the item system.
In my first or one of my first attempts, I quickly experienced the need for waiting a turn, so this is definitely useful! This was against the knight, as kindanice says, because he cannot move diagonally nor several tiles at a time, and I was cornered in a 1-height area. When I got the object, I did use it to great effect.
simple, cute game!!!
:)
simple, fun and the art is really good!
Thank you!
I love this game!
Appreciate it!
Great little game! Love the simplicity and charm. Nice job!
Thanks :))
Great work! My only feedback is to see what sides of the enemy has a shield. Maybe I missed it?
Thanks :) The enemy will shield whenever the number on your die is equal to or lower than its number of eyes, no matter the side. So if you move around so that you have a high number on the die then it won't be able to block your attack!
Thanks for the tip! :)
A very satisfying and 'clean' game - love the polish, both visually and mechanically.
TYSM :D
This game is one of the best I've seen yet. I enjoy it all a lot, the enemies are smart enough to put you on the ropes, yet sometimes give you a break in peril, the concept is clever, and the cyclops is wonderful. Great game.
Appreciate it, thank you!
Wow! I am on a roguelike kick right now and this is a great marriage of the jam theme and that genre. Fantastic polish -- if I didn't have a bunch of other games to play you bet I would be continuing to play this one :) Great work!!
Also the music is clean and I love the narrator guy at the start.

That's so nice of you to say, thank you!

Really polished and fun. There are a few games with a similar concept I've seen (higher number beats lower number) and this is my favourite so far, the level design and art really elevate it.
Thank you :)
Very fun game!
The music is very soothing albeit a little repetitive :)
Poor NPC though :(
I sometimes wished the eyes were a little bit more visible but iverall I had fun playing this game, well done!
Appreciate it. It's rough out here for a cyclops...
I like it and I enjoyed playing it! Well done!
Thanks!
A great concept, presented very well.
TY :)
This game slaps! Really solid game, the music is so perfect! One small change of allowing players to recharge their current item or take a new item would of been a welcome change but really a solid game! Could play for hours!
Appreciate it! (shhh, don't tell anyone, but you can just roll around on the chest levels to charge your item. and, if you wait long enough, the new item will disappear and you can keep your old one. hehehe)
this feels very polished! the sounds and animations felt really well, and i especially enjoyed the personality of the tutorial person :)
during gameplay, i often felt the game went either of two ways: either i rolled a high number and the enemies moved next to me one after another, or multiple enemies teams up and i lost in 2 rounds.
really well made game!
Thanks a lot :)
One of the best games of the jam easily
Thank you!!
