i think this game has a lot of potential! i dont quite see the theme implemented, but i could be missing something. i also think the game is a tad bit easy (at least as far as i got, 20-30 rounds maybe). overall tho, great work :)

Enjoyment: There seem to be a lot of grammar/spelling mistakes and errors in the text of the game that make me confused on what to do. I was confused as to what to do the whole time. It was difficult to download, it would have been better if there were a web build.

1/5

Creativity: The game is a grid with dots on it to display enemies? The idea in general could have been much more interesting.  I don't see how the theme plays into this at all to be frank.

1/5

Presentation: All of the text is blurry, but I do like the sort of 80's color aesthetic though.

3/5

Hi.

A 3 out of 5 Star rating in presentation makes no sense with what you're saying. You should've given the game 1/1/1 if you didn't like it at all. Remember to review what you experienced and respect your and my time as well. 1/1/1 would be way more logical than 1/1/3.

Have the day you deserve.

Honestly the Neon like 80's retro hacker colors on the grid and icons is something I dig and think it makes the presentation way better than it could be. I'm getting that the dice rolling is tied to the placement of the enemies now but that wasn't quite understood on my first playthrough.

Never un-crunch!

This was a lovely little time killer, I enjoyed it.  After placing so many satellites it was hard for me to see them clearly on the board as they don't stand out to much when compared to the coordinates.  It would be great to see this developed further. Good job!

Submitted(+1)

the mechanics were really simple but i enjoyed it. i wish we could see the dice rolls though so it would fit more with the theme.

I was unable to play it on my screen, the window acted funky and I could only see the bottom right corner, everything else was off screen and I wasn't able to get a hold of the window.

But from what I could see, both in the little corner, and on your game's page, is you have a solid concept! I'm not sure if the issue was the game, or something on my end, but if you're enjoying this project, please continue to add to it after the jam is over! It looks like you have something here

Developer(+1)

Normally when you right click on the game's window at the taskbar you should be easily be able to move it with the arrow-keys into vision. The mouse only can 'grab' to it when it's clearly visible on screen. Getting ahold of any corner at all allows you to resize the game in any way you can imagine.

And: Already ahead of you when it comes to 'adding to the game' after the jam ^^

You have just taught me something very powerful, thank you!

Submitted(+1)

I didn't find it very fun, just click and everything is solved. but I think the idea has some potential if you work on it to give the game some depth.

Developer

Already working on it :) Make this game great again haha. Jokes aside, thanks for trying.

The idea could work with some changes, but right now the gameplay is pretty trivial, i just place a giant wall and kill all enemies that try to come through

Submitted(+1)

The concept is fine, but yeah, there are some UI issues that you have. It might an issue with the font (and/or element scaling).

You could also look into godot project settings, it might have something to do with antialiasing - either global or of the asset itself (font). Also you could experiment with enabling high dpi in Display -> Window. Cheers!

Developer(+1)

Heyho.

Yeah, the issues came from the font and the scaling itself. I initially made the game much smaller scale and later changed it. The font was scaled down and then (unnaturally) scaled up thus the washed out anti-aliasing effect. Won't happen in future builds ^^ Thanksies for the testrun.

Lovely game! i really enjoyed it, the only problem i can see is that the text on the top right was kinda blurry, don't know what could be causing that. Anyway really cool!

btw, if you have time, i'd really like to get some feedback on my game too!

Submitted(+1)

This game kind of reminds me of mine sweeper, but in space XD.  After I have put enough satellites the game started becoming more clear to me.  It does feel good to try to fill up the part of the map to try to prevent any new enemies from arriving.  Good job on the game! :D

Submitted(+1)

The game opened in borderless mode a bit outside the screen and I couldn't see the full view, and I didn't understand the rules of the game, a tutorial would help

Submitted(+1)

I had a little trouble reading the text and getting the game to open, but once I did I thought it was a unique concept! Cool Battleship vibes.

Developer

Thats where I drew my inspiration from ^^ Gonna do an overhaul as soon the gamejam is over. Can you tell me what was troublesome while trying to open the game? Maybe I can do something about it within the engine.

The text is kinda hard to read and I didn't understand how to play. :(

Developer(+1)

Sad to hear that but I guess it was only a 'when' not a 'if' case with this problem. I'll promise there will be a good tutorial in the future. The text is sadly a tad harder to read but I had not figured it out why. Since it was a minor problem I let it be and focused on other areas of the game.

Sadly the window appears partially outside of my screen and I can't move it (probably got to do with my screen resolution being smaller than yours or something) I won't rate for now, if you can fix it you could send me a new version. My Discord is Verburner#7202

Developer

Hiho.

There are different methods to get the window into your view but as long you see a corner you should be fine resizing the window. Tested it out and even when it's completely off-screen you can get it back on screen where you want it to resize. Right click on the game's task-bar-window and click the option that indicated the window to be moved. Press any arrow key and your mouse should attach (when window is visible) instantly to the game's window so you can freely move it around.

That should solve the problem relatively easy. Later, after the game jam, I make sure the game works on all screen sizes ^^ I am truly sorry about this inconvinience. If this doesn't solve the issue you're having provide me with a screenshot of the issue and I will try to find a solution that will work.

Here's the resized window:

Submitted(+1)

Nice, resizing worked. Interesting concept, though it could use some tuning. I think others mentioned it already, but it seems to be way too easy.

Developer(+1)

The early 10 - 20 turns are actually pretty easy. Yeah. After which the smugglers overwhelm you pretty quickly. Though I think my highscore can still be beaten by quite a notch hehe. I will work more on this game after the jam.

Pretty neat game. I feel like it would have been nice to have the tiles with satellites pop a bit more, so they are clearer to see. As you mentioned below, the amount of shots is random, which got me killed in the later stages of the game. Maybe some music would have been nice as well. Still enjoyed it tho.

Developer

Yeah, I wanted to create a music track but sadly I forgot to download FLS and setup it beforehand. Still happy you enjoyed it a bit hehe.

Unfortunately, I have Mac, so I can't download the game :(
I apologise, but good luck in the jam!

Submitted(+1)

The idea is certainly unique, tho I don't really see the connection to the roll of the dice. It seemed to me that the gameplay was too easy, I just made a big wall of satellites and had nothing to worry about. Good job on making a working leaderboard :D.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the idea is nice that's why i followed through. Sadly I couldn't form a stronger connection to the theme. Leaderboard is silentwolf.com and not my work ^^ I also like to wall but my highest personal score actually was achieved by not walling actually.

Hey this is a pretty cool little game! It is kinda like battleship in a way but different. I could definitely see this being fleshed out into a bigger game with some of things you mentioned on the main page, like different managers that get you bonuses.

I got to about a 100 points though when I felt like nothing much more was happening so I ended up stopping. I was also a little confused about why some times I had like 12 shots and other times I had 1, unless maybe those were dice rolls (which would fit in with the theme!). Just felt like I had so many shots overall though that it was tricky for the smugglers to breakthrough.

Overall though very nice game!!

Developer

Yeah, the shots were dice rolls. I had not enough time left to animate those (Plans were there) but I had strictly managed my time for game design, test, pixel art and programming. The smugglers later in the game will overrun you ^^ Hadn't figured out a working tactic that helps compensating bad rolls haha ^^

Submitted(+1)

This was a really neat concept. I did find it a little difficult to differentiate where I had Satellite locations and not.  Great job!

Developer

Yeah, I had similar problems ^^ I'll redo the game as soon the jam is over and give it more time.
