really quite a fun game. Would recommend!
polished and beautiful game, well done
Lots of fun, and I think I won the game:
Really polished and addictive game; had a really good time with it. Definitely can stand up to some of the other popular word games out there. Once the board started to get smaller it can often just be completely impossible to form any words, unless I'm just forgetting some. Overall, really nice work!
The controls of this game felt really good and the concept and art were great too. great work!
Well presented game with good feeling controls and thumpy visuals.
Very cool game, I wish there was a way to refresh rolls, even if it costed times when there were no words that could be formed, but other than it it was very fun and looks very polished.
That's a good idea. I really like the idea of giving you rerolls that cost time. A good way to prevent the no word possible problem without making it way too easy. It would also add some tactical depth when you have to decide whether you want to spend your time looking for words with the letters you have or if you want to reroll them. That could just be the missing ingredient
I love this so much - very much my kind of game!
The balance feels spot on, with the time limit adding plenty of pressure, but even when I slipped up I always felt able to claw things back given that using all letters granted more dice allowing me to recover from mistakes or bad rolls.
It looks fantastic too - love the colour palette, and the simple but very pretty particle effects when the die are rolled.
Managed to get a score of 109, but pretty sure I'll be back to try and top it!
I enjoyed this alot more than I thought I would! Did feel unfair when you would get letter you couldn't make anything with, but I understand why that needs to happen to make the game end. Overall, good work!
A very fun word game!
Nice to see another word game with a different take! I really enjoyed it!
At first I was confused about the actual mechanics, but it shortly became clear that gaps don't matter and your best word is saved, although you may want to communicate that more clearly?
I'd also strongly suggest to add a restart button as a good run depends on a good starting word
Oh and the game runs in the background, so I can cheat and get endless time :P
Highscore without cheating: 43
Thanks! I added some extra information in the description.
I expected to see more letters on dice games tbh. It's not that far fetched of an idea. But yours is the only other word game I found so far
It's tough (I mean it was for me, at least, since my vocabulary is... well, rather poor ;)) and sometimes I think that letters I'm given are a bit unfair, like 5 vowels in 6 letter word :D
But the concept is cool and I had some fun with it :)
This was really fun to play, although I am not very good at making words :)
It's great! It's like a mini version of scrabble, of which is a game I love. Very satisfying to get a word using all the spaces on the grid. I genuinely cannot think of a complaint about it.
Well, my complaint would be there are some words it doesn't recognize, and when its the only word spellable, it feels weird to be punished because you know a word the game doesn't
Love the concept, but my vocabulary was so poor
I love the game, but I wish the game would auto reroll if no words were possible, or maybe allow you to reroll with a time penalty on your own
Thanks. I definitely should have added a restart button
I really love the concept and how your dice have letters instead of numbers. I'm a big fan of word games, so it immediately appeals to me.
I think what prevents me from loving the game is the fact that you can roll the dice and not get any words. Not only do I need to wait for the timer to run out, but there's just no fun in losing to pure randomness.
I would prefer it if there's always at least one word that can be spelled, and then replace the timer with a limited number of rounds. e.g. 10 rounds for the player to come up with 10 words and get as high a score as possible. Longer words earn more points and provide more rolls for the next round (same as how you have it currently).
Thanks. I thought about just making it a fixed number of rounds but I kinda liked the idea of it potentially going on forever. As long as you form words length 5+ you get so many dice that you can almost always form another 5+ word so the strategy is to just keep forming long words for as long as possible.
Pretty fun and hectic! Love how simple and stylized everything is, simple fun. This could be a fun board game i think they should make it real.
Love the use of letters on dice instead of numbers! Visually this game looks great. The sound effects are very nice too. I wish the game would end if there aren't any words I can create with my letters instead of having to wait out the time. But, great concept!
Thanks. I agree I should have at least added a restart button so you don't have to wait
