I never really understood all the combos, a reference table or something in the description would be nice. Plays nice and smoothly with great art and music. Having the different wanted posters to give your opponents some character was a really nice touch. Great work!
If you hover over the question mark, a table appears showing what each face does. But we've gotten enough feedback where we'll add an additional tooltip to clear things up. :)
interesting game, the art style and the music are fantastic
Not sure if I got the combos right, but I tried. A fresh take on the theme, haven't seen it so far. 10/10
I love the rock paper scissors-style mechanics mixed with dice! Nice art style too!
that's a funny idea ! liked to try out some combo but i didn't really understood if i had managed to pull it off xD
Oh, this is very nice – I had a lot of fun just working out the rules of everything. A lot of depth for a game jam, I love the kind of Yahtzee-Rock-Paper-Scissors energy!
Really great stuff! Surprisingly deep strategy game!
Excellent work! From a fellow Western themed game.
Played through on first try. Solid game with fitting theme and nice style.
Once I actually understoof what everything meant I had a lot of fun. The trading dice aspect really adds a lot of strategy, although I made the mistake of not realising they were dice (stupid me) and so you're not just trading one dice face but all 6. I accidentally traded my guns away!
Really fun take on the theme! Nice art and sound design complement each other. The rounds may take a bit of planning but I like it a lot. Also really nice that the dice show exactly what they can roll, but found that out after 2 rounds. Wondering if that's decided by rng within a limit or predetermined. The only problem is the difficulty. At times it seemed really easy, and over half of the fights were done within the first round, not really requiring to think long(er) term, build up courage, or strategically cancel moves. Mostly I just focussed on rolling a reload (3/6 on a die) and a gun (2/6 on 2 dice) and that's basically the end of the fight.
Thank you, I am considering implementing unlockable harder difficulties that push the player to strategize more, likely by lowering player health and rerolls but also possibly by buffing criminals as well.
We just released the improved version at https://roguebrain.itch.io/crapshot-saloon-deluxe-edition!
This game has a very nice art style! It is a great game and its mechanics play well, its not too simple or too complex and I can understand it with my pea brain as soon as I start the game!
An amazing twist on rock, paper, scizors. I really enjoyed playing it!
well thought out and polished game, impressive for the time constraints! awesome job!
A great strategy game, does an incredible job at setting up the atmosphere. Great Game!
Great art and presentation, very polished and effective user interface. Can't quite figure out how to play, but that could just be my inexperience with dice games!
Really interesting and fun strategy game. Once I got to Gunslinger Gretchen, I had to really start thinking about my dice order and how to block her bullets. The theming is great too (especially the itch.io page font choice)!
Cool simple game! Liked that you added each enemy their own characters through their hands.
Would have been cool to see what the dice action do when you hover at them like the one on the question mark, probably harder to do though. Otherwise, cool game!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for your input.
This was awesome and really well thought out. If more types/sides of dice were added, I could see this becoming larger and even more in-depth. Good job.
Thanks appreciate it.
Really enjoyed this!
Interesting concept to be battling various (non-number) dice rolls.
Did take a while to get the hang of what each of the symbols meant (some wee tooltips would be handy), but would definitely play again!
The question mark on the left of the screen tells you what the symbols mean. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.
