Fantastic concept and game & well executed western theme. Would love to see this fleshed out!

Developer

Thank you! Be sure to check it out after the jam is over, as we are planning a big patch containing new difficulties and an endless mode.

Developer

We just released the improved version at https://roguebrain.itch.io/crapshot-saloon-deluxe-edition!

nice game and neat concept.

great job.

Neat idea! I like the strategy/planning ahead needed to win. The western theme was very consistent the whole way through. And I liked how, instead of using dice rolls to randomize outcomes like in other games, here you control randomness a bit more and you can use it to refine your desired strategy. Great work!

Developer

Thank you! Part of the design for this game was making sure there was no such thing as a "bad" dice roll; every face has the situation where you would want to roll it or not want to roll it.

I like the art and the concept for the game. It was kinda hard to get the hang of just because there is so much to learn. Good entry though!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We'll be working on the rules section to make it more intuitive. Glad you had fun anyway. :)

Nice entry! Great presentation and super fun idea. The AI was sometimes a bit stupid but I still needed a few tryes to win. I enjoyed playing your game very much.

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it! We're going to improve the AI for after the jam, but sometimes the AI gets bad luck too. :)

Really well done! The art, the sound and the game design is really great! It's a full 5 for me :D

So glad you liked it!

Really fun and great music. A lot of similarities to our game, which is another Western-themed dice builder where you fight ruffians in a saloon 🤠.

I one-turned the last two, had a pretty nice deck at the end. The enemy AI could use a little tweaking and the UI could be more tutorial-y, but other than that I wouldn't change anything! And bonus points for pocket sand.

Developer

Glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback! When designing the game, we wanted to make it deterministic so you could fully plan around a turn, but I see what you mean (there's no reason the opponent should block at the end, or load a bullet after shooting an empty gun). In the next update after the jam, we are going to include UI fixes as well as two harder difficulty modes, so hopefully that leads to a lot more necessary strategizing.

Overall nicely polished and made game. The trading system didn't make that much sense to me but apart from that nice work!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, we will try to clear it up when we push out an update. You are able to trade one of your dice for one of your opponent's when you beat them. To do this, you click on a die to put it in the trade area then click confirm to trade them and progress to the next foe.

The game is very intresting and fun a better presentation woud be perfect  as it didn't relly beco clear to me unteal later.hopefully this helps.

One of the best games I've played this Jam. Nice aesthetics combined with deep mechanics that encourage strategic play and replayability. I could see this getting highlighted by GMTK if it can get some more attention.

I also love that it was Yahtzee-inspired. My game was an attempt at a Yahtzee inspired RPG battle system - check it out if you have time..

I never really understood all the combos, a reference table or something in the description would be nice. Plays nice and smoothly with great art and music. Having the different wanted posters to give your opponents some character was a really nice touch. Great work!

Developer(+1)

If you hover over the question mark, a table appears showing what each face does. But we've gotten enough feedback where we'll add an additional tooltip to clear things up. :)

interesting game, the art style and the music are fantastic

Submitted(+3)

Not sure if I got the combos right, but I tried. A fresh take on the theme, haven't seen it so far. 10/10

Submitted(+3)

I love the rock paper scissors-style mechanics mixed with dice! Nice art style too!

Submitted(+3)

that's a funny idea ! liked to try out some combo but i didn't really understood if i had managed to pull it off xD

Submitted(+3)

Oh, this is very nice – I had a lot of fun just working out the rules of everything. A lot of depth for a game jam, I love the kind of Yahtzee-Rock-Paper-Scissors energy!

Submitted(+3)

Really great stuff! Surprisingly deep strategy game!

Submitted(+3)

Excellent work! From a fellow Western themed game.

Submitted(+3)

Played through on first try. Solid game with fitting theme and nice style.

Once I actually understoof what everything meant I had a lot of fun. The trading dice aspect really adds a lot of strategy, although I made the mistake of not realising they were dice (stupid me) and so you're not just trading one dice face but all 6. I accidentally traded my guns away!
