Certainly a curious game, with a neat plot and mechanics.

But why snowman?

Nice game!

Good game! I believe that some kind of score or time to know how much better (or worse) was each try would made the game even better! Congrats! :)

Developer

Thanks, that is a great idea!, ill add it to the list for when voting is finished

I liked the way to play and the graphics in the game , the game really coolll !!!!

Developer

thanks so much!

Who put my snowman in hell? The game is fun to play, the graphics, and the choice of music is charming. However, it was quite counterintuitive to use LMB to shoot when you cant actually aim, but then i figured i can also use spacebar.

Developer

thanks for playing, I appreciate the feedback.

Unique idea, I like the art style and the perspective of the camera. I wanted to use the mouse to aim, but shooting in the direction you look at also makes it fun and challenging in its own way and the difficulty is on point I think. Good job!

Developer

thanks so much!

This is absolutely 15/10.  The only problem I have with it is that the mouse doesn't control which direction the snowman fires snowballs.

I would love to be able to play this on my phone too!

Developer

thanks for your kind words, I'm so glad you liked it! I was planning to make aiming easier, but kinda forgot to do that and ran out of time. i'm not sure how to make it playable on a phone, but I think that would be a grand thing.

Fun game. The art style and animation reminds me of the old flash days. I found the controls a little clunky since fire is mapped to the mouse but aiming isn't, but it felt solid using the keyboard to fire

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing! about the mouse, i had intended to let it aim, but then got used to aiming with movement and kinda forgot to make it possible to aim with the mouse XD

Nice fun game! Very cute and funny opening sequence!

I remember seeing your posts on Discord so it was great to be able to play the final version here!

Unfortunately, I could never quite get used to the controls since I kept wanting the snowman to track where my cursor is at but it would just keep shooting at where it is facing versus where my cursor was.

Developer

thanks! I'm glad I was able to get it ready in time (tho I did end up cutting a bunch of stuff I wanted to add... ) admittedly I was planning to make the snowballs track to the cursor and just completely forgot about it because I got used to the controls...

Holy moly, this game was just full-fledged panic LOL. I loved the idea of putting a snowman in hell. Hilarious animation at the beginning too.

Developer(+1)

glad you liked it!

Lol I love that expression! Very creative idea and fun to play. I like my little snowman footprints. I didn't make it to the end though. Am I just trying to survive as long as possible? The platforms were a really nice touch, I couldn't stay in one spot too long. Cute artwork too! Great job on the submission!

Developer

the intention was to have a boss fight with eh devil at some point so you can escape hell, but I didn't have time to get it working properly so I cut it in the end. I am planning to continue developing it after the jam is over tho, so it will be coming at some time in the future

Snowman in hell.  Love it

Excellent intro cinematic! Also love the inspiration from a turn of phrase, really cool!

I did struggle a bit to know exactly what I was doing, but still had lots of fun.

Well done!

Developer

glad you liked it, the goal was to survive by turning the deamons into snowmen for as long as you can.

The method you did your maps with was so interesting! I really liked that. Pretty fun little shooter. I realize probably this was intentional, but somehow the delay between shots made it hard for me to time things correctly - maybe it could be turned down a little bit (sped up). Overall, pretty fun!

Developer(+1)

thanks! I was pretty happy with the map generation, though I probably spent a little too much time on it , as I had been planning to have an upgrade system so you could improve your fire rate and other things, but I ran out of time.

Submitted

Cool intro!  I also really like the fact that the whole world is procedurally generated.  Really adds to the hectic atmosphere.

Developer

thanks so much!

I really like those visuals (especially the intro XD), and the crumbling ground works well ^^
Damages lack a bit of feedback, also I'm a bit frustrated to not be able to aim with the mouse, but that's just me ^^

Developer

thanks! I'm glad you liked the intro, I was a little uncertain if it would work well. I had planned to make it so you could aim with the mouse, but UI forgot to come back to it until after I was out of time.

Intro animation was funny.  Also plus points for making a game based on a pun.

I liked that you can see the created snowmen slowly melt away into a puddle but maybe they could have thrown a few snowballs before they melted to help you out.  Y'know, go out in a freeze of glory...

Developer(+1)

hey thanks, also I really like the snowballs idea, to I'd likely need to tweak some of the balance so it doesn't 'snowball' out of hand...

Submitted

Nice game, but I am rubbish at games like this when there is no way to regain health. Snowball's chance indeed...

Very nice graphics. Would have been nice to be able to see a bit more of the map to get a clearer idea of where there are hazards and also where there is safe ground to move to.

Developer(+1)

thanks! I realize now that there isn't info anywhere that explains, but you do actually regain snow(health) whenever you curse a demon or firesprite. for the view radius I was trying to invoke a claustrophobic sort of feeling where you are running around trying to find a safe spot.

Great game. I would have loved to see a possible win condition, but lots of great games always end in defeat.

Loved the intro animation.

I personally prefer twin-stick or mouse aim, but once I got used to the shoot-where-you-move mechanic it worked ok.

Developer

thanks for playing, I had intended there to be a win condition for when you had enough snow, but alas, I ran out of time

Crumbling ground was awesome, kept me on my toes/Snowball?? really fun entry with a great intro. I enjoyed attempting to convert all of hells demons into snowmen! The health bar on the left I genuinely didn't notice until I was almost dead - not sure why but yeah visibility might be a bit low on it and aiming with WASD was a bit frustrating at times!

Great job!!

Developer

glad you liked the crumbling ground! I did notice from the limited playtesting that I was able to do that no one seems to see the health bar, but I wasn't sure how to improve its visibility.
