Game Description
Despite the global zombie curse, Helen still needs her office to run smoothly. She hires the man with the most beautiful red mustache she has ever seen. Will it be enough?
How does your game tie into the theme?
A predictable zombie curse but... with a twist?

Absolutely love this. Helen & Toby = Relationship goals
Fun game with rewarding mecanics, good job !!
Great game with a fun plot. Probably the only jam game that has a tasteful fade to black scene, haha. I may have slightly spoiled the plot for myself by reading the credits before playing the game but it at least meant that I could appreciate the foreshadowing.
Managed to get to the boss fight (great music) but died because I only had one heart from round 7 and without Helen's help there was no way to recover.
Very fun, everything felt smooth and well-implemented. The graphics were charming as well and the ending was great. I couldn't stop playing!
So glad you liked it. Really had fun with then ending :)
Fun game very simple idea with a pretty funny story added into it, and liked the ending it was quite enjoyable time!
Nice game! Got to the very end but couldn't dish out enough damage to finish of level 9. Good design and escalation as the stages progressed!
Really fun game! Going to have to come back and try and finish it because I keep dying at the moment
I really liked the two different phases and how they played off of each other. Picking off a single just-turned zombie out of a crowd of people is so satisfying. I also enjoyed that during the "work" phase, you need to rapidly scan the room for people thinking about brains and you don't have to be careful about where your character is exactly. You're moreso looking for a path where you can boost all the people who are turning. That contrasts with the "break in" phase where you need to be mindful of the paths available to you to get to an ammo case or drop, and your eyes are more focused on the area immediately around the character.
I would have loved to see some bonuses that improved your abilities during the "work" phase, as the powerups largely just affect your power during the "break in" phase. Maybe a move speed or slowing down the rate at which workers turn into zombies? Also felt like the bullet collision was a touch too small, but that also feels like it could be a meaningful design choice.
Thanks for this excellent submission!
Thanks for your very kind comments and ideas. You are spot on about the bullet collision. I wanted it bigger but found it was losing too many shots hitting the walls. Maybe I need to collision shapes? Yes, I'd love to put in more upgrades for the "work" phase. I also wanted to be able to buy and place barricades. Haha, but that would have meant not sleeping for a week. Going to take a break and add all of the lovely ideas people have put forward. Again, thanks. It means a lot :)
Funny story, straightforward gameplay, nice game!
This was a very very fun retro top-down shooter. Loved the dialog!
Man, what a great game!! It was engaging, funny, witty, really fun, and very well thought out! the mechanics seemed simple in isolation but had a lot depth as a whole. Took me 4 long tries to beat it, the first time I lost at chapter 8, just before the reveal! I was really engaged so I had to retry, the next time I lost to the final boss, just when I was worrying it was gonna be too easy the boss did that thing where it "hid" and spawned zombies, healed, and when I was about to beat it it just did it again but this time it spawned wayyyy more zombies!! ended up getting cornered and killed. Third try I didn't make it to the final boss due to poor choice of upgrades (only one rack, got cornered again). Fourth try I ended up beating it before the boss could summon anything! I was a little disappointed there was no ending sequence, but all in all this was still an awesome experience.
Awesome game! had a really fun time playing. The only thing I would add is some way to heal in chapter 8/9 when upgrades are no longer available.
So so so glad you played and I really appreciate your comments. When the mad rush was over, and I finally uploaded it, I hoped someone would enjoy it in the way you have. You've made it all worth it. I really wanted to make an ending. Actually, I wanted to make a new location, Toby's cabin in the woods where a certain thought dead vampire came back for revenge. One day :) Thanks so much for playing :)
100% would play again if that ever happens! No pressure though :)
Really fun game! Nice tunes and dialogue you’ve got here!
I ended at stage 6 I think. Would have loved to see the ending but there are many more games to rate so I will have to move on to the next one for now.
very nice art, the colors reminded me of earthbound on the SNES. Great gameplay loop, was both fun and rewarding to play each stage!
This game was super cool!
I got my ass handed to me in the end, so the lack of a checkpoint system really bothered me there.
Otherwise, it was amazing!
Well done!
A checkpoint system. That is such a good call! Thanks for playing
This game is epic. I loved it. I don't want to spoil the ending - try not to read the credits if you don't want spoilers on a loss ;)
I really love the money mechanic tied to keeping employees alive and decursing them. The zombie waves are also great - just all around well executed. You could really build this game into something special, imo. Don't stop now :)
Glad you made it to the end :) Thrilled you enjoyed it :)
Very nice all around music/plot/visuals. Especially the visuals on an employee turning. The camera jump to the story is a little fast, maybe it could use some fade in/out.
Thanks. I totally agree regarding the camera. Cheers
I loved running around and telling people not to be zombies. Amazing art great game. A lot of where is waldo when you run into big crowds. Funny plot
"telling people not to be zombies" I wish I had made that a mechanic! That's hilarious :) Thanks for the comments
Great game. I like the time management aspect and the shooting. Nicely implemented, well crafted.
Thanks :)
Very Fun Game!
Fun concept! I played it for 10 minutes straight, because I wanted to flirt with the woman again. Combat is good, and visual fidelity is clear. Good entry!
