Good, game and fits the theme very well. It was hard for me to play with a mouse, I think it should be easier on a tablet. Nevertheless, the style is very consistent and I really enjoyed playing it.

Great job!

Very insteresting concept. It fits the theme very well! I like that you have multiple options to close the windows, with the small close button on the top of the window or looking for the correct button in the window itself

Submitted(+3)

The art and character options are awesome! I definitely felt very overloaded haha

Submitted(+3)

Great game! Made me feel overloaded, 10/10.

This was initially what we had in mind for our submission as well, but we changed to a different course. It's nice to see this concept executed so well!

Submitted(+2)

Did feel overloaded :)

Great concept and intro story to get you into the game. Was not able to make it more than 1 day though...

Submitted

I myself was not able to load the game (on Mac) and have to go by companions opinion

Developer(+1)

Sad to hear. Don't know why that could be happening. Maybe try a different browser?

Submitted

I tried google chrome and Safari, would Firefox or something be better?

Developer(+1)

I heard Firefox generally works great for almost anything, so maybe.

My companion currently has not joined Itch yet, he did play your game and asked me to forward it ^^:

'RB'

I really liked the polish amount of options this has. There is a main menu with options, separate credits, and different bg art for each 'character'. (I played the 1st character, and wanted to see if the 2nd one had a different story, sadly, they did not... but there's only so much time in a jam. I do think they had less RAM maybe?)

Speaking of the story, the gradual escalation of the situation as portrayed by the searches is quite funny.

There's a coupld of things that I think went less well, and I did sort of miss music, or maybe some more involved ambient noise (although what there is is quite good, and I understand the understatedness of what there is now may be on purpose). Also, pop-ups where kind-of annoying in real life, and the main game loop is based on recognising that feeling.

(Oh and lastly, my mouse-cursor was gone in the game after the first story finished. I suppose the elder god ate it...)

P.S. Reminds me a bit of Daniel Mullins' games, in that the story is told through an in-universe interface (and also demons messing with the software) which is a good thing.

Developer(+1)

Woah! Thank you so much for taking the time to write that! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Re: the options menu, it was made by Marek Belski. They couldn't participate in the jam and instead offered this amazing template for whoever needed it. The cursor disappearing is an unfortunate that didn't have time to correct.

The lack of music was a decision out of necessity, but worked well enough I believe. Now that you mention it, Daniel Mullins might have been a bit of an inspiration for this without us noticing. lol

I will forward your reply <3

"demons magic powers" - this is how you know disaster is coming) Nice game. The only problem is that it has unexplainably long loadings

Developer (1 edit)

If you mean loading between game days, it is a timing thing. Maybe the waits were made a bit too long. We live and we learn. Thanks for letting us know.
Glad you found it fun!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, must have been fun desiging those popups :D

Submitted(+1)

Awesome! A well made and polished entry, gameplay, UI, sounds - all are well done and fit the game very well. And the name/theme makes this a complete and fun experience, thank you!

Developer

Thank YOU for playing ! 💙

Submitted(+1)

The gameplay isn't for me as my heart races a little too quickly and my clicking finger beings to hurt. But holy moly I love the sounds, the polish, and the jokes.

Do pups ever come into the game? Or am I just not a l33t gam3r y0 and couldn't make it far enough in?

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoy some of it at least
Pro tips: It's not the end of the world if the PC crashes, and some pop ups are made to be clicked on on purpose ;)

Submitted(+1)

Okay now I get it. I started clicking inside the pop ups instead of just the tiny "X" and that made me last a little longer. Also those pop up pups saved my bacon.

Great story, great multi-ending, great concept for a short and sweet game.

After day 4 browser window with the game restarted because of RAM issues (Safari…). I don’t know if it was intended, but it was immersive AF :D I like the idea, but I couldn’t figure out if I played good or not. Even after RAM issues (in game) you continue to the next day… So… Did I won? Or is it just a story line there… I don’t know :D My PC couldn’t handle it ;D Nice submission though. I like uncanny view out of the window. It’s very unsettling :]

p.s. Ok, I’ve played the game once again with Chrome, and now everything ok! Also I’ve figured out that pressing buttons in popups make them appear faster (or did it?). I’ve collected 4 SHIBAS!!! But it’s also looked like dogs also using your ram, so taking them decrease your overall ram?

Very good submission! Nice, and finished, with different characters (lol), story and nice learning curve. I like this game. But if there were some ambient music, it cold be even cooler!

Wish you luck!

Developer(+1)

Good to hear you could find a fix. Dogs using up RAM is part of the design. You have to make that extra effort to get a better ending. ;P We didn't use music because of limitations, but we decided the ambiance would be better than using random free royalty music.

I want that puppy in real life

Developer

which one of them? :D

Submitted(+2)

Nice game! Really fun to play. The doggi should also help us against Sukuna fr

Developer(+1)

they tried to get to Shibuya on time but it's hard to run carrying those swords on the mouth :(

They still need more training!

very fun and looks cool!
Developer

Thanks for playing! 💙

Submitted(+2)

so impressive game, what will happen if I collect five doggi, my skill is so poor that I can't stand 10 second per day.

Anyway, great job, a well finished game,  can't belive it have the end scroll

Submitted(+3)

Cool game! I made sure to collect the dog every time I could lol. I think my favorite part weirdly enough was the simplicity of the sound. The positive and negative ping of closing and opening popups made the experience fun to crunch against. Art was also peak! Good stuff!

Developer

Much appreciated! 💙 Glad you enjoyed it

Submitted(+2)

The idea of not getting overloaded with ad-popups is so smart and fitting for the jam's theme! Great work on the art especially.

Developer

Thanks for playing! 💙

Good game with nice graphics! I like the idea of just closing the pop ups, simple yet fun. The transitions just felt a bit slow and I'm not sure if it's a bug but I got the same ending whether I successfully closed the pop ups or not. It also would have been nice to have different stories for each character. The demon fits the last character but not really the others. Regardless it was a nice game!

Developer

Maybe that's not the actual requisite for the different endings ;)

Submitted(+2)

Intriguing, I might check out the game again then :)

Submitted(+3)

"Allow app.bodypossession.me to use your soul" was a nice touch 😆 Cool game submission! I wish the pop ups were a little slower so I could at least feel like I was delaying the inevitable restart, but this absolutely hit the essence of "overload".
