The first one got my completely unawares so I was confused but I quickly got the loop.  The audio was pretty funny and I appreciate it being brief the second time.  Didn't make it too far because I don't like being scared but it was still fun.

I enjoyed how observing the "wildlife" would add a little polaroid to the board for the next ranger, and how the accidents resulted in new workplace rules, an excellent parody of worker protections in a profit oriented environment :).  On one life I went back up the tower to see if the map had updated as a result of doing some of my tasks (best I could tell, it hadn't), and found the stairs hard to traverse going up, I'd get stuck and need to jump. Might need some fine tuning in the collision on these!

Such a cool entry! I think it would be nice to have some general direction on where to find the items/tasks you need to do - in the first run, I think I've run 2 rounds around the tower, but couldn't find the last item. It also might be a good idea to only spawn the monster(s) after you completed the first task, I think.
But these are just nitpicks. You did a great job on polishing the game, and sound design and the overall atmosphere are pretty well done!

It's one of my favorite submissions! Very nice!!!

The voice acting in this is super excellent, extremely well done and sets the atmosphere very well in this game right off the bat.

The super sudden loud sounds when you're caught along with the well done graphics and immersive visually rich world made for a really awesome experience.

The hold E to interact popup for each task was very useful to quickly understand what to do as well very nice inclusion of that

I think you (the one doing the voice acting, I believe) might be popular and I may have heard of you somewhere, which makes it very interesting you are in this jam here of all places.

Some things I noticed are I am not sure there is any way to use the gamepad to zoom in, so it's best played on the mouse and keyboard for now. It might be similar for interacting with tasks.

Also, I think there isn't any way to change mouse / look sensitivity in options which may be helpful for this specific kind of game, but I think these are very minor things.

I think your team seems to me like you might be really good at making horror games, especially seeing this as the first game on your itch.io profile

After playing this, the first thought I had in mind is I would love to see more games from you.

Really nice job!

thank you so much! that look sensativity is so good to be added. that's for sure going into our next project. I cant wait to apply everything we learned to the next game jam

A nicely done first person with some fun surprises, like being mocked after death - that made me smile. I died three times and didn't find any wildlife to observe yet, and only one jumpscare - thanks! lol!

As other people mention, intro was class!

This was neat and funny. I really liked dying to something new and finding out what it was gonna make fun of me for.

Visually looks nice too. I liked the faded dithering on all the shading, and the audio was done rather nicely as well. Also, nice work on the voice acting!

Overall pretty standard experience, but nicely executed, and you worked the wildcards into it really nicely. Not sure what it was but I had to hold Left-Click on my first run to even look around. But afterwards it was okay and worked normally.

Super solid, big fan. I really liked the FNAF-esque intro dialogue lol
Really creative implementation of the wildcards!
I also really enjoyed being able to scan the creatures and then read the lore afterwards.
Maybe I'm just bad but I had trouble getting the full task list completed lol, I'll have to try playing again later.

By the way, did you program a shader yourself for the dithering effect on the shadows, or did you find one somewhere? It looks really cool and works really well with the rest of the aesthetic.

Nice gameplayloop with "achievements" hehe. I think i got 7 and the well was my favorite one.

The tutorial was entertaining and with clear recording.

thank you so much for playing!

I hate horror as a genre but somehow I was drawn to this and played it. Sure as heck there was a jump scare moment.

While the control felt a bit wonky, the overall aesthetic was nice! If they made Firewatch for PS1, it would have been probably like this game. The voice-over in the beginning was amazingly done (who is it?).

Developer(+1)

thanks so much for trying out the game eventhough you're not super into horror! And that VA is me actually.

Submitted(+1)

Oh dang, you got some voice-acting skill right there!

A nice nod to Firewatch, and a very impressive 3D effort for a jam. The voice acting and graphics were great. The game is huge, but I know that's tricky with audio files and high level graphics.

Thank you so much! me and Gen both agreed for our next project size optimization is going to be a front focus. I was shocked how fast the size of these files can explode
