I also thought of Thomas was Alone. This is a really solid minimalist styled platformer. All the mechanics worked really well and it all felt like a nice cohesive package. Great job!
Great platformer, It make me think of Thomas was Alone.
The soundtrack is awesome
Thanks for playing Sesso. I can't take any credit for the soundtrack unfortunately, I had planned to write some music for the level, but I just wanted to get the game done slightly earlier.
Liked the neon color scheme. Do checkout my game too
I had fun playing your game :D Beautiful use of worldenviroment. Very smooth and responsive controls and mechanics (except climbing walls for me. I instinctivly was pressing W midair before connecting with the wall and when i connected with the wall I had to release and press W again to start climbing. wish i could have kept it pressed)
My Highscore :)
Hi Ille!
Thanks for playing. I've tested again myself but didn't run into that climbing issue and the code just gets axis input so shouldn't rely on either press or release. How bizarre, I wonder if there are some godot input issues I'm not aware of in certain cases or platforms.
In any case, thanks for the feedback :)
really fun traversal mechanics and they're well implemented too! art style was simple but the aesthetics were immaculate, awesome music too. i agree with a previous comment that said they would definitely love to play more levels. overall a really solid platformer, great work!
Thank you for playing and for the kind feedback. I'm primarily a coder but trying to get a little better at the art side when I can so it's nice to hear some of my effort paid off. Glad you enjoyed it!
The controls and the physics are good. It feels good to control, even though it's a little slow and floaty in the air, like others have said. The grappling hook is a lot of fun, and so is crouch-boosting. I too appreciated having a guide in the form of the floating dots leading you where to go, and I liked having the ability to quick-restart at a checkpoint when you mess up real bad.
Thanks for playing and for your feedback. I wanted to stop infinite wall jumping so one quick way was to heavily dampen the in-air acceleration but I agree I was a bit too harsh and as a result it feels too punishing and float.
Nice job fitting the theme! I like the wall-jumping and grappling mechanic! I wish I could rebind the controls, I really don't like having jump on right click. Good game!
I always have the best of intentions to add various options menus and controls etc but I never seem to be able to get around to it. A bit more solo dev jams and I'm sure I'll get it sorted.
Thanks for giving it a try!
Wow, that grappling hook feels fantastic. I definitely would have played more levels, especially if there were just a hint more air control - something about the bouncy shape of the character makes me want the jump to feel really light and responsive. Definitely want to echo praise to the tutorialization - this really makes the game stand out. Nice work!
I really appreciate the kind words here. The air control was my bad attempt at fixing level design problems and unintentionally went a bit too far and as a result it doesn't feel as responsive and fast paced as it should do. Cheers for playing!
Ok, so it doesn't seems like much at the beginning, but the details are awesome!
The little dots that indicate where to go next, super!
Love the controls, really gone the mile there!
Nice game!
Thanks man. I don't typically enjoy platformers so I've never made one before. I've been playing a lot of Mirror's Edge: Catalyst recently so I "borrowed" the particle trails from there. Really simple to implement as well, I'm glad you enjoyed the details! I'll give your game a try later, thanks for playing.
