an abstract take on the feeling of time passing you by, but also there's literally a clock ticking in the background

It’s great that you created all the art yourself, and the art was coherent and clear enough to follow the story. The (depressed) mood of boredom and wasting time was conveyed very well. The crumpling paper effect at the end was a nice touch. It might have been even more impactful if it lasted a bit longer to emphasize the passage of time, but even as it is, it worked well.

A solid entry for this cutscene jam. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the detailed feedback, it is much appreciated!! Interesting idea about letting the scene play out longer before the paper crumple effect, I was worried about making the viewer bored by dragging the scene out but I think you are right that it would have driven home the feeling of despaired monotony even more.  I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed my scene, thank you for hosting and watching my entry!

This has a certain style to it and also it is showing how time can pass by while u waste it consuming media. Its a nice simple Scene, doesnt really need music but it could of course profit from better art. I loved the paper effect in the end and the overall message it conveys. Very nice scene!!

Looks like someone else here also uses Game Maker haha. I really enjoyed your scene, it has an interesting aesthetic, and I absolutely love black and white designs (which is evident from my history of games and even my own scene).

The concept is intriguing, and I liked how things were executed. It’s true that our perception of time changes a lot when we're immersed in entertainment. I think you did a great job conveying that.

One more thing! The tile sounds like a title on an emo song from like 2006. I mean it in a good way :)

Its actually lyrics from a song called Freewill by Rush, its pretty sick check it out!

edit: and it came out in 1980 so I guess people have been making emo media for at least that long lol
