My fave game of the jam so far!!! I didn't expect a metroidvania here, so finding this was a more than pleasant surprise!! Loved it!! Although the last fight got a bit too long and tedious by the end but besides that I loved every second of it!
Thank you!
5 stars for the graphics just for the CRT filter. I think you're the only game I've seen in the jam that added one. Also gotta appreciate the confidence in the soundtrack to link it right on the page. Good job! Needs a bit more music, but the sound effects were on-point. I'm reminded of old DOS games. The theme fits with the jam pretty well, but I'd request a tutorial for a future release.
Also the cover art is super cool. Did you have any inspirations when making this game? It's pretty unique and I'd love to check out more like it.
Thank you! My biggest inspiration for Full House is the Castlevania series, mainly Symphony of the Night. I recommend all of the Castlevania games a good deal, but Symphony of the Night (along with the original Metroid) is the game that really pioneered the genre. If you're looking for something more modern, check out Hollow Knight and the Blasphemous series - they share a lot of influences with Full House, and I cannot stress how high quality they are.
I've already played most Castlevania games but good to know!
Personally, I enjoyed this beginning to end. This shi was straight peak. I honestly have no pressing critique other than the music (maybe have a final boss theme). At first enemies were troublesome, but I loved that it took not just brains- but skill and timing to kill any enemy in the game, even the beginning enemies starting out! Puzzles are clever, upgrades are clean, tutorials aren't long scripts of text. Most if not all things are intuitive. I had wished I remembered you could attack upwards later in the game, as that would have saved me the trouble from platforming w the red enemies that shoot at you. Everything is just cleverly designed, and there was a fair amount of game time spent playing the game as well. This game is really good. If I were to offer the slightest nitpick of critique, it would be to add coyote jumping, as I found myself trying to make certain jumps, then fast falling like fox in smash bros melee before I pressed the button. (If you aren't familiar w coyote jump, its when you are still able to jump a split second after you walk off a platform). I can see this game being sold as-is if it featured different musical tracks and maybe upgraded graphics. Phenomenal. Straight peak.
Thank you for playing, and for the feedback!
Very good game! It really drew me in. The art and music are fantastic. Although, killing enemies was quite frustrating for me and the upgrades didn’t seem to help much. I later discovered that you could attack upwards, which might have made it easier.
I found the game to be very good overall, both in terms of the mechanics implemented, the interpretation of the theme and the atmosphere. The gameplay itself is very enjoyable and the music is too. The only thing I can mention is the variety in the soundtrack, which is already very good.
Thanks!
Nice concept, enjoyable music! Very good work, congratulations!!!
Thank you!
I really liked it it feels like a very polished game already.
At first i was going to say maybe show some kind of timer when your attacks are back, but i was just blind as you already thought about that. Soundtrack also very good i think.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
A great little platformer. You have done a lot of things right on this one! Love it
Thanks!
Good game! Sounds a bit like my game idea.
Very cool game! It's fun trying to focus on both screens. The right screen was way harder though, I was always hoping I would get an upgrade for that attack because the ghosts were so strong.
Thanks!
