This game was great. I'm surprised this is your first jam and have a feeling this is going to be one of the top games. Reminds me of the kind of game I might have found on Kongregate browsing the IF tag. The difference in perspective of the two characters was done really well, done to the colors. The guy being down, and getting more depressed, the girl being more positive and reassuring herself, until she starts to realize she misses him and she made some mistakes too.

I did have trouble with dying a bit at the beginning, partly just because I was still getting a feel for the game and partly because I sometimes hit Space to jump by instinct.

I love the visuals and the sound design, text driven narrative not being just a simple dialog is also very impactful!

Unfortunately I couldn't fully immerse in the story cause I'm too bad at platforming lol I wish that after a fall you could restart from a check point without having to click the 'Restart' every time.

Thank you, bro. The lack of checkpoints and other factors have been mentioned other times as something that breaks the immersion, I'm grateful for the comments about it, and I'll try to modify accordingly.

Feedback on the Game:
1.  Health Display: It would be great to have a visible indicator for the player's health during gameplay. Showcasing the remaining health adds a sense of urgency and strategy to the game, helping players gauge their risks and plan their actions effectively.

2. Visual Appeal: The overall look and feel of the game were outstanding. The use of colors was superb and made the game visually appealing and immersive. The vibrant design adds a lot of personality to the game and keeps players engaged.

3. Difficulty Curve: The game felt a little too punishing for a narrative-driven experience. Balancing the difficulty level to align with the story flow would help maintain the player's interest and engagement, especially for those who want to focus on the story rather than overcoming excessively challenging mechanics.

4. Level Design Freedom: The platforms felt too tight, limiting the player's ability to explore and experiment. Providing slightly more freedom in movement or platform layout would make the game feel less restrictive and more enjoyable. Expanding the platform design could also enhance the narrative pacing by allowing players to explore the environment more freely.

5. n-Game Tutorial: Adding an in-game tutorial would greatly enhance the overall experience. Tutorials are essential for guiding players through the game's mechanics and ensuring they fully understand how to interact with the world. A brief introduction to controls and gameplay elements would help new players feel more confident and reduce frustration.

6. Sound Design: The sound design is excellent! It really enhances the overall experience and complements the gameplay effectively. The audio work adds depth and emotion to the game, making it even more engaging and immersive.

7. The story and narration were well-done and added significant depth to the game. The narrative elements kept me invested in the journey and created a meaningful connection with the gameplay. Expanding on this strength could further enrich the overall experience.

I would love to hear your thoughts on my feedback, and I would be happy if you to try my game as well. I appreciate your efforts, and I believe with a few adjustments, the game could be even more engaging and rewarding for players.

I laughed a bit at the very beginning jumping around my bathroom and then got into the story. Wow, the voice acting really helps the gut punch factor. Nice work.

The platforming is tight enough, but I wish the spotlight was slightly bigger. Otherwise, no complaints. It's a story that a lot of people can relate to, that I could easily see getting a Steam release with a little proofreading.

"I never meant to hurt you" was powerful stuff.

Very nice and moody atmosphere and looks good overall. I enjoyed playing it, Maybe next time try adding something like coyote time to make jumping a bit easier (or maybe its there and am just unskilled). The darkness / light mechanic added to the feel of the game but it made the jumps a bit harder so i personally would have liked some more way/respawn points.

Developer

Oh, thank you very much for the tips <3

I'll implement them in the game soon, I'll try to make it more dynamic so that the focus doesn't get lost from the story and atmosphere.

(I mostly agree about the darkness and the platforms)

Cute game! I enjoyed playing through their little story, and despite saying you weren't pixel artists I think you did great! I did have issues with the audio coming through super crackly, I haven't had that with any other games so far so I thought I'd let you know. I'm playing in browser on Firefox if that's any help

Developer

Wow, thanks for the compliment!

We tried to create a game that was very focused on the story and the concept of Two Points of View.

About the sounds, I also noticed some problems after the deadline, but they only appeared in HTML. This was the first time we exported it this way, so it didn't turn out exactly as we expected.
