I liked the concept even though it doesn't fit corruption. I think something that would help would be adding more steps to the process. Like maybe make winding up one button and holding it too long will make you miss. then another button to do the swing when you have wound up.

Take me the to the ball game! I'm not sure what's the corruption part, maybe I missed it? A neat ball game though I think the hit spot for the ball is quite tight and you have to hold the mouse for the bat to go full swing so it feels a bit unresponsive at times.

As for now, good job!

I couldn't figure out how this entry fits with the jam's "corruption" theme. Besides that, I liked the game visuals and ambience.

There needs to be a better way to help the player aim at the ball. I couldn't figure out what was the right placement to get a hit. I think I only got some hits out of pure luck.

It's not obvious how you're supposed to aim the box to get a homerun. Maybe you could add a ball trajectory line and change the box color when it's in the collision path so that all that's left is getting the bat timing right.

This is a good prototype but I feel it needs more work to become an enjoyable game. Keep at it! :)

A nice little project, and the art is really lovely!

However, I for the life of me could not figure out how to consistently get home runs. I could get hits, but trying different timings and positioning did not seem to change the result. I got lucky maybe once or twice but that was about it.

I think adding a tutorial or a bit of feedback after a swing can help the player get better at hitting things consistently. Something like a "too early!" or "too late!" message can be very helpful with keeping players engaged! I also think you guys have some great art. It would be cool if some of the art was featured more in the game.

I think the scope is well thought out for a game jam, with some potential avenues for future development (such as more batters).
But I don't really know what it has to do with corruption.

Nice game, was easy enough to understand.
Thought the theme was kinda off for the Jam.

I'm gonna be so real I have no idea what this has to do with corruption but this game is awesome. If you do add more hololive characters to the game for different levels that'd be sick.

If you're evil you can turn this into that Winnie the Pooh baseball game with invisible curveballs lol

Lmao I know what winnie the pooh game you were talking about! I was 100% going for that. I actually replayed it trying to get this one right haha.

I managed to get curveballs working. but just ran out of time to implement it with more levels.

This is indeed baseball.

Fun little minigame. Some personal preference:
- I think the controls will feel nicer if you hold click to swing back, then swing it instantly the moment mouse button is released.
- Would love to see more "hololive" elements added in. Maybe introduce different pitchers and each of them has their own special abilities?

I AGREE, i was planning to add different characters that you had to unlock by beating the previous talents like different levels. But i ran out of time to implement,

But i did manage to get like a curveball like pitch working, which i do intend to add to a later version of the game.

THANKS FOR PLAYING!

I like your game, but for the game jam, I can't say it fits the theme. You nailed down the atmosphere with the art, direction, and the gameplay is simple and pretty easy to understand how to play!
Why I gave it low stars though is because it just felt unintuitive and doesn't fit the theme of corruption. I've hit at least 30 balls and still couldn't get a homerun, but you had something going!

Cool game, How do I make a homerun?

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

I get the best results on the tip of bat (At the far end of the little black box)

Timing is also key, but even i haven't got it down haha.
