Very nice football game!  The AI was pretty aggressive which I like and it fits nicely with the theme. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Be sure to rate!

Submitted

No problem, already done that.

A very cool football (or soccer, as the ignorant American in me would call it) game! I love the different types of balls that can spawn, adding a nice bit of variety to the gameplay. The placement of the score on the tops of the players’ heads is very cool once I realized they were there.

I appreciated that you can reset the ball if it gets caught in a corner or along an edge, but you can reset the ball from anywhere on the field. I’ll grant that it’s harder to click on the ball to reset it when it’s in the middle of the field, but it does feel like a system that could be exploited. Perhaps if you limit the areas from which the ball could be reset from to only those within a few units of the edges, instead of anywhere.

After a match, I noticed the scores do not reset. This is a minor thing, I suppose, but it does make it hard to know how close one is to victory or defeat. If this is fixed, it might also fix the other score related issue I noticed, which was, scores higher than 9 do not really display! I had a score of 10 at one point (due to the game not resetting the scores) and there was only ever a “1” hanging over my head… meaning the second digit was cut off.

Lastly… I didn’t notice any difference between a Match and a League game. They both felt the exact same. Might have been a feature that never made it in on time?

Over all this is a very cool game with a very fun gimmick to it! Excellent work!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the constructive criticism! Scores will be sure to reset after a match and the AI, player and ball won't be able to get stuck behind goals and in corners. Match is supposed to make the AI shoot every 1 second and shoot every 0.5 seconds but I've noticed there's a delta time glitch that happens during recording so the game slows down a ton and I'll work on that. Thanks for playing my game and reviewing it like IGN!

I love this game But you have to fix that when ball goes behind the goal post you can’t go there and kick the ball neither it will be considered out.. Rather I enjoyed your game…

Developer(+1)

Thanks for enjoying the game! After the jam I will be able to fix this issue so in the full game most of the bugs will be gone (and I hope to see you there!)

Submitted

Sure mate..

Submitted

It is a simple, fun concept that I wish you could expand and polish a little further since, in its current iteration, some control issues prevent it from reaching an outstanding hypercasual potential.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Is it ok if you can say the specifics that need fixing? And the game will be expanded after the jam so be prepared for that!

Submitted

Neat concept, it was fun bouncing around and trying to push the ball in the right direction.

A bit strange that the ball can fit behind the right goal and not the left, and it think the game would been more challenging if not the opponent and ball froze when charging.

But I am nitpicking. Fun game!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I suggest you play league mode if it gets too easy.

Submitted

Enjoy playing it, though once I master the mechanic I manage to cheese it and win every round on my first shot, hahaha 😆 could probably add more opponents at later level to increase the difficulty.

Hahaha like how the character just wouldn't stop spinning .  However I felt that the spin doesn't impact the gameplay enough, what you could do is when the player collide with the ball, it will stick to the player and spinning. Then maybe click and charge up to fire the ball again but you'll have to time it correctly to aim.  But yeah well done! keep up the good work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! In the final game there will be different footballers to play as with their own stats!

Submitted

Love the concept! Longing to the full version of this game.

Developer

Thanks for playing (and hopefully rating)! There's no set date for the full release yet but I'll be sure to work on it!

Submitted

Very good concept and very fun to play !

And i like how the character never stop spinning XD

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! More features will come after the jam is finished

Submitted

It's fun and as other commenters said it gets quite tactical with the time freeze when shooting. Only feedback I can offer is that the AI seems a bit helpless if the player keeps freezing time at every chance, maybe there should be a brief cooldown or a bullet time effect instead of a total time freeze

Developer

Yeah I've noticed this. In the mobile release I am going to make it so that after you shoot theres a millisecond coolodown so you can't instantly freeze time again

Submitted

Despite it's wonkyness, this is fun. The shooting-timefreezes is suprisingly tactical. Neat little game, just as far as i can tell, the rotation is mostly a visual thing.

Developer(+1)

The rotation was "supposed" to make the ball harder to hit accurately (hence the time stop for aiming) but something went wrong with the physics so it doesn't work how it's supposed to but its nice to see people still enjoy it

Submitted (1 edit)

Ah. I see!

Well, on one occasion the rotation mattered while i played: the ball got stuck behind a goal, and to get it unstuck precise timing with the rotation was required. NPC got in there first and recovered the ball. At the time i thought i just was to fat, but looks like the collision did at least something...

Submitted

Nice game. The time freeze when you are targeting makes for some fun calculating moments. I can see myself playing a full version game of this concept.

Developer

Thanks for noticing that feature! If its not to much to ask, what would you like to see in the full version? (apart from bug fixes)

Submitted (1 edit)

I was thinking about different types of players on both teams. Maybe defenders who stay behind and guard a small part of the pitch, while attackers chase the ball. Maybe an idea of a "Season mode" where you buy and sell players in different positions (maybe with different stats, affecting how they play). Or if it were to go in a more "puzzle" direction, I could see various scenarios with interference due to penalty walls, streakers, hooligans in the pitch and so on.

It seems like a very fluid concept for a game, and it appeals both to sports fans and people who like physics based stuff.

Developer(+1)

Mobile FIFA without pay to win, gotcha. But honestly I do like the idea and I could make this into a kind of strategy game where you build up a team with stats and can play against AI teams in tournament. I might not add all the puzzle elements like red cards as people seem to like bullying the AI but I think I can make this into a proper game! (do you think I should remove the different map and ball types though?)

Submitted

I'd say it depends on what you want to go with. The different maps and ball types work with a puzzle type of game where you go through many different "stages", to keep things fresh. But if you were to go focus more on the sport angle, then yeah probably the changes on gameplay should come from the different players instead of the pitch. Hard to say though, I think it's worth trying out different concepts and seeing which feels better to move forward with.

That was a good game. The AI got confused and scored goals for me a few times, but like the guy underneath me already said, very solid. Make it a mobile game

Developer(+1)

Yeah I used this jam to test out AI (my first time) so there not that smart but thanks for the feedback and suggestion!

Submitted

I'm such an idiot I got confused and scored for the AI 2 times :(

Developer

Unless that was accidental, that's a failure on my part since some maps change the physics

Submitted

No, I saw an opening and kicked the ball into my own goal 2 times... It was not a weird physics issue it was all me, forgetting how sports work... more than once... in about 5 min...

Submitted

This was fun to play. The music fit the visuals together with the gameplay very well. Nice work!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback! (I would play your game but I can only do WEBGL as of now sorry it looks cool from the screenshots shown though!

Submitted

Take this to Mobile, improve a few things people already commented on and you have a solid, solid game for the iPhone.

Developer

Yeah, I'll probably do most of these things after the jam. Thanks for playing though!

Submitted

The ball sometimes gets back of the goal post. But was fun to beat the AI 👍

Developer

Yeah that's a hitbox problem, click the ball to reset its position thanks for playing though!

Submitted

An interesting and fun game!

My only problem is when the ball color is the same as the field, the ball got lost somewhere and my eye can't catch it. Anyway, great game!

Developer

Oh sorry about that! After the jam I can update the sprites, is it ok if you can name the maps where this happens? (football, Ice, dodgeball, bowling and basketball).

Submitted

I think it's on the Ice field? Where the ball and the field is white

Submitted

Nice concept and reminds me of table top football game :).

Developer

Thanks! That was one of the original ideas actually but AI would be hard to code in that format at my current stage, thanks for playing though!

Submitted

I was wondering what was the difference with practice and match, no score, so what? Tryed league and got bullied by the IA haha.

It's a little funny gaming, the physics works well, you can spam, it's a stress relief after a gam jam :D.

Sadly the rotating doesn't have an impact on the ball :(, but I'm happy not everything was rotating or it would have been unplayable :D

Developer

Practice makes the AI takes 2 seconds to react and Match makes it so its only 1. And the rotating is supposed to make the ball fly off in random angle when you smack into it so I'll look into that but anyway thanks for the feedback!

Submitted

Yeah when launching league I understand what was the difference, it's just I didn't think at first it was only a difficulty settings.

I tryed again to see if I didn't understand something with the rotation and the ball, but yeah, it seems it doesn't work it goes where I try to push it (or I'm really lucky °°').

Well at least your answer made made replay it 5 min hitting that poor ball (and the ennemy I have to admit :D).

Developer

Hope you still enjoyed the experience though! (league makes the AI reaction time 0.5 second by the way)

Submitted

I liked the music. I think it suits the game! However the stage wasn't rotating and the rest of the rotations didn't really have an impact on the outcome of the game. Other than that, very good fun!

Developer (1 edit)

When I said the stage is rotating I meant that every time you score the stage rotates as in swaps but I can understand the misconception. I'm looking into the ball and player rotation problem because other people have commented on it as well but thanks for the constructive criticism!
