A very good use of the theme. I like the rts/tower defense idea on a sphere. It was very difficult to defend with the setup but a very good proof of concept. Great job!

Game idea is pretty good and fun to play, but there're some bugs when you retry the game without refreshing the browser as:
- More enemy units spawning frequently
- Unable to rotate your own units
Fun perspective shift of a typical rts/tower defense game.
However I think having your troops spawn closer to the tree would've helped immensely, it takes way too long for reinforcements to get to the tree now. Also some bugs where troops stopped shooting and wouldn't rotate.
Pretty fun. Some of my soldiers seemed to wander around helplessly though.
Nice little strategy game. After a while I think it started to bug out a bit though. My troops was running around and not attacking aliens and clicking them didn't do anything. So after a while my screen started to get pretty covered and figuring out which ones were actually alive and working became like a puzzle on its own.
yes it's got some bugs, but it's a really interesting and different game idea, that's fun and clever.
Great start to what could be an excellent full game.
Great jam game as it is :). Well done
A game with a strategy element where you can prioritize resources or army is my kind of thing. I really like that part and you made it fit the theme and game world so well. My only complaint about it is that AI is sometimes not wanting to fight closes enemies and seems to ignore them, it loses me time and the tree gets destroyed no matter what I do. Speaking of which, I feel like you picked really great lore for the theme and the world. Something like a little last tree of hope goes really well with tiny planet. Good job overall
This is a fun concept, and a good use of the theme. But there are some things that can be improved here:
The enemies spawn right next to where my units spawn, and without warning. If there was like a ship orbiting the planet spawning the enemies where I can see them and not on top of my units that would be a lot more fun
When all the characters are on top of each other it's impossible to click on the one I want. If they had some sort of collision keeping them separate they would be easier to control
Over all, I feel the idea for this game is very solid. The visuals chosen are very nice and give this game a really nice, bright tone, even if you are battling against ultimate annihilation! Lol!
That said, the controls for the miners bothered me. I did not like how the miners always stopped to fight the aliens. This is especially frustrating when the only mines available are on the other side of the planet. Virtually every time I tried spawning a miner to head for a mine, an alien would spawn very near my miner and my miner would stop and just attack the alien, regardless of how many times I clicked on him. I think miners should ignore the aliens all together. Otherwise, unless a mine spawns right next to the miner’s spawn area, the miners are nearly useless.
After loosing a game, I click the “Continue” button to bring me to the start menu, then click the “Start” button to start a new game and the aliens immediately start spawning at the same rate they were when I lost the previous game. It does not appear the game properly resets the difficulty upon a second game. To get a clean reset, I had to reload the page/game.
I would have liked some form on indicator on the tree as to how much health it had left. I have no idea how close I am to defeat otherwise. This is really a minor thing, to be fair, as the game doesn’t seem to last long enough to be an issue, but still… it would help me know how much slack I have for if I have to beat my soldiers into position, lol.
Like I said, over all, I think this is a very charming game with some great potential. For me, though, I was overly frustrated by the miners.
Incredible! I did run into an issue where some characters would just keep running around (They may have been dead and just didn't get removed). The game felt well balanced with the soldiers and the miners. Great job!
The spherical world effect is actually very simple. It's just... rotation! The way it works is that I put each type of object inside an empty GameObject and gave it a position offset. Then, the empty parent object sits at the center of the planet and has its rotation value modified to simulate a character walking around the planet. Here's what the prefab for the soldier unit looks like (note how the XYZ widget is far below the character):
Very cute game & very good use of the assets.
The gameplay needs some balancing thought. The spawn rate of ennemies is a bit high from the start and you get overwhelmed very fast. Also a health indicator on the tree would be really useful :)
Otherwise the core gameplay is there & it works well with the theme.
Good job :)
This is really cool! Very easy to totally neglect mining and just go broke, keeps the pressure up (I totally didn't die to this immediately the first time i played lol).
The immortal bug really sucks, but I saw the in another comment that you fixed it so that's pretty cool. Great sfx, music, animations, just overall polish. I love this! Got to year 2139
I think this game has a lot of potential, especially as it has a single-touch interface that'd work pretty well in the mobile space. As it is, some of the jam time crunch showed in my inability to change a unit's direction or convince a soldier that there was indeed an enemy in his sights. Great job regardless!
The main concept of this game is just awesome, really cool ideia.
I think i ran into some bugs though, where i couldn't change a units direction and some units would just ignore the foes and not attack.
Lovely entry, I was thinking of something similar, actually! Picked the gameplay pretty quickly and got pretty far. I was trolled by a font at first. I thought the prices were 28 and 18 instead of 20 and 10. But it’s better than my case when "K" sometimes renders as "H," so I have "Dedicated to Hate" instead of "Dedicated to Kate" in my credits. :)
