really cool idea as your clones increase by travelling in the past. great use of the theme. good pixel art. it should be more visible to which character you're controlling because after 7 characters it gets kinda confusing. really good submission
Awesome game! Having to guard previous versions of myself was a really unique twist. And,having a fitting story to go with it was extra awesome! Well done! :D
Great visuals, cool storyline, fun concept. Nice work!
Woow really cool game, the way you use the theme a love it!
The gamplay and mechanics are so well done, if my computer wasnt a toaster i will play this much more time because its really fun. Great job!
I LOVE IT! I want to see this thing fully realized! Wonderful job :)
Wow, that was really cool! The music and art are amazing, I like the story too! It was a bit hard for me to keep up, and I even died when I was on round 10, but it was challenging in a fun way! I love the way you handled the theme of connection! I liked this game a lot!
It's getting weirder and weirder and more chaotic :D
At the beginning I was thinking the game is too easy but on 8th level it starts to be really difficult to track what is going on.
Graphics are clean and nice, audio is AMAZING! It creates an atmosphere of weirdness (twilight zone style).
In other words: Fantastic game!
Really addicting. Love how it progressively gets more chaotic.
A pretty nice little take on a smhup-style game. Nice job.
really fun and entretaining game! it was challenging! good job!
Definitely one of my favorite games in this jam. Good job! :D
Such a great idea, I loved it.
So at first I was like, aw yeah cool, a top down shooter, looks pretty nice, nothing special though, then after the first round I was like ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh cool! This is a really cool idea and I think you executed it really well, everything looks great, feedback is great, it plays well, a funny little story to contextualize it all, really great work! My only suggestion, not sure if it'd make it more fun but I thought it might be cool, is to have aliens stack up each round, so it gets more and more chaotic each time but each of your clones are still doing the same job they were before cleaning out the baddies from the previous round. I think the 30 bullets could've maybe been a bit lower too, I was able to cheese the game quite a bit by just standing still for the first 8 rounds, forgive my cheesing! Awesome work!
I'm glad you liked it! Yeah the ammo is generous but i didn't want to be to hard on players in a casual jam game. As for the enemies it would have been cool if ones from previous rounds came back. I didn't do that so i could introduce new enemy types without over-powering the player with old ones. The enemy count does increase in general, just very subtlety, if you aren't in endless mode. Thanks for the feedback!
Loved the simplicity of this game. Starts off fairly easy but slowly becomes more chaotic as you progress. My only problem was that in later rounds it was very easy to loose my current self. Other then that I had a blast!
This is one of my favorite submissions so far. Such a unique concept that also works really well with the theme of the jam. I really like how it gets progressively gets crazier as the levels continue. I also like how even though you have limited ammo, the game rewards shooting like crazy so those bullets are used in later "lives" to help out with the massive waves of enemies. Great job!
Great game, really like the interaction with my past self.
I'm yet to play the infinite mode but I will definitly try it ! greate game !
glad you enjoyed it!
Takes a little bit to get going, but once there are enough clones running around and more enemies start to spawn that's when the game start to get fun. Some difficulty options or a way to start at later rounds would be great considering the slow start and the non-existence of checkpoints. I really liked the music and especially the sound effects when the round is about to end. It helps with not needing to check the round timer as often.
glad you liked it! Yeah i kept the beginnings slow since i wasn't sure how hard the concept would be for players to grasp going in blind, but perhaps i overdid it. I was gonna add a difficulty option but opted to just naturally bake the difficulty into the game modes instead for the jam, with endless mode as the hard difficulty with initially and continuously harder rounds/enemies. Setting experienced players potentially back to such boring rounds probably wasn't the best idea and i should have only set them back a little bit (in the story mode) to compensate for the lack of checkpoints. Thanks again!
The game was fun and had one of the most interesting plot in this jam. I would love if the player didn't restart to round 1 or had some checkpoints but overall, it was a really fun game with a really cool plot and concept.
glad you enjoyed it! If i could change anything it would be punishing the player a bit less for losing. It was originally meant as more of an intense game, but when i toned it down to be more casual i should have reconsidered the losing aspect
Loved the game and its visuals ,story and art but i really didn't get the connection to the theme
and if you make like a save point that would the great!
yeah losing was a bit punishing for a jam game and i could have probably found a way to make it feel a little better, as for the theme the idea was you're connected to the baby and your past selves in both the story and gameplay (your life/actions) A temporal/life connection
