Did you work in a team?

Special thanks:
Dendroid (soundcloud.com/dendroid_music) for the awesome music!
Was the resolution a challenge?
The resolution constraints really make you think hard about the user experience and what needs to be on screen vs. what you can leave up to player discovery.
With a map size larger than the viewport, we had to make sure that you knew what was happening in each section of the ship, so we added an alert notification system that stays on screen at all times.
In addition, while Unity's pixel perfect camera helps keep the resolution at a crisp 64x64, there are still plenty of considerations you have to code around to avoid rendering issues.
What did you learn?
From last year's game jam, we definitely decreased the overall scope of the game. (Last year we created a game with 3 levels and a bunch of enemy AI.) However, even with a smaller scope, we still ended up leaving some features on the cutting room floor.
For example, we had originally wanted to include a tutorial section explaining the gameplay and controls.
Speaking of...
=== CONTROLS ===
WASD = Movement
J = Interact / Pickup Item / Skip Cutscene
K = Drop Item / Cancel
Hope you enjoy the game!

:( like Ismael mention, I suck at games like this lol
But let me say it, you boys did a amazing work! The Graphics are amazing and the game didn't feel lowrez at all! The Gameplay is also very very good and the animations + graphics did work well with the controllers too. If I have anything to critique is the death cutscene, I think is a little too long.
Congratz to you boys! :D 5/5!
I'm terrible at these games lol
I really like the artwork and style, the indicators are a nice touch, the game doesn't feel held back or hampered by the canvas size!
Design Feedback: That first indicator takes me to the oxygen machine, but there's nothing to do there without plants, so I had no idea what was going on at first. I thought it might be broken.
Might be nice to have a thought bubble pop up over the player if they arrive at a station without the required resource?
Great job overall!
Thanks for hanging in there and playing it lol!
That is some solid feedback. There is quite a bit to communicate to the player in this style of game, so adding situational information in the form of a thought bubble would be a great way to not overload the screen with even more indicators.
I loved the pixel art! Fun to play.
I was a little confused at first but after reading the manual I was able to beat it.Art is really well made.
Cool game!
What a hero ToT they will be remembered forever <3
such a good game, I really enjoyed playing it :)
VERY good. Might have to come back to this one and play some more later. You guys did great!!
Loving graphics and music!! The gameplay is also funny, good job!
Started making a lot more sense after reading the incredibly useful informatic at the bottom. I didn't divert much attention to the engines as usually oxygen was breaking down or running out of some sort of fuel, but I still won in the end. I always felt like I had something (or 10 somethings) to do, which is a very nice feeling in this sort of game.
Haha, yeah! We ran into crunch time at the end there, and unfortunately had to scrap the inclusion of a tutorial. After the jam is over, we will probably add a "How To Play" section that uses the graphics from that informatic.
I'm glad you still ended up winning even though the engine was probably stopped for a while!
Love the artand cutscenes. Good job
Amazing entry! Beautiful art & animations. I really appreciated the story within the game. I don't think a tutorial is needed as your alerts help a lot on understanding what to do. Well done, guys!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad the alerts helped you out!
Although in hindsight, we might have needed an alert for the fire extinguisher... at least the first time you need to use it. :)
i love the art and the animations i cant belive it was done it such a little amount of time, but i feel like the game is confusing even when i read the description and sometimes i want to turn off the fire and i start running in hammster wheel because im close and end up die. The game is full of personality and cant wait to see more of this team
Fun game! I didn't notice that I could scroll down to figure out what all the machines needed, but I managed to figure it out on the go and make it to the end. Great visuals and audio too! All around a quality game.
Thanks! Once the LOWREZJAM is over, we are probably going publish an updated version that has those graphics included in the game itself.
Glad you still managed to "survive" until the end! :)
Y'all this was seriously so fun - the art and animations were beautiful and the coding was all synced up so I didn't encounter any bugs. I liked watching the progress on the screen as I went and it was enjoyable to keep everything running well. If I could change one thing it would be some small text or something on each device to let me know what it was (i.e. O2 on the oxygen one) so I could better prioritize when I saw a problem. Loved the memorial at the end and glad they didn't mention most of the ship was in flames by the time I succeeded. Overall amazing game!!
Thaaaaaanks Raaaaaandy! I'm glad you liked it!
And thanks for the idea for adding labels to the devices. I think it would really help keep track of the chaos!
Really nice work, the art and animations are just beautiful! Little bit lost at first but still. Great job :)
Art and animations are amazing. I love your style in the introductive guide. A very detailed and worked on entry. Great Job! :P
Good game! Went a little longer than I would have liked and was confusing at first, so I had to restart once.
Great entry and very interesting gameplay, brings to my mind LucasArts Night Shift. When fires start to show up you’re dead and gone :P Is there way to put fires out? could not figure it out if there is one…
Thanks for playing!
Yes, there is a fire extinguisher located in the upper right portion of the map that you can use to put out fires.
Super impressive art and animation - the gameplay itself was a little trial and error before I figured out what I was supposed to do but pretty fun once I got the hang of it. Good job!
Wow! That cut scene alone blew me away, great job!
There is an intro cutscene, a loss cutscene, and a victory cutscene. Check them all out if you get the chance!
Joel really blew it out of the water with the animations.
