Was the resolution a challenge?
fitting elements on the screen was a challenge, we had to try and find clever ways to lay out rooms to combat that.

What did you learn?
we only used about a week of the given time, we tried to improve our planning to face our shortened deadline

First of all even the itch page is gorgeous haha the game looks and sounds amazing.

I appreciate level of finesse that's gone into this entry, things like having different background/level tiles lining up with buttons off screen to help the player orient, the use of negative level space to show tutorial messages, and the inclusion of a free look feature to mitigate the res constraints are all a level of polish above. Great work.

There is also just a TON of content, I didn't time myself but I think it took me nearly an hour to beat it haha I don't know how long you spent designing levels, but it must have used up a fair chunk of time. The puzzles have an obvious internal logic and so they're not frustrating or anything, and I had fun playing it. My only feedback would be the progression is a little off, you spend a fair chunk of the game with a few mechanics and then the game introduces a bunch more but only uses them for a few levels. Not a big deal, probably just down to the nature of jam games and how hard they are to balance.

All in all a very strong entry, fantastic work :D

Developer

Wow, thank you so much! We were really trying to up our game this jam, so we appreciate the praise!

As for the progression, we designed the game from start to finish, so the lack of levels with the later mechanics is just down to spending too much time on the early levels and having to crunch out some of the later ones. It was definitely a good lesson in time management, lol.

Thanks for playing all the way through!

Wow such a big game for a Jam well done! :D I thought it was almost over and then you introduce 3 more mechanics and there were still a couple more to come after that! Very well made for so many different moving parts! When I finished I just had a purple screen with gravity particles? If that wasnt the end let me know :) great game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! Yeah, that's the end, we have a picture in that room that says 'thanks for playing', but we centered the camera wrong. Just game jam jank lol. Thanks for playing all the way through!

Very clever puzzle platformer game! I really liked how in the beginning it makes you sort of get accustomed to gravity in different directions, and then BAM! you realize that the gravity change doesn't apply to the crates you're lifting!

One thing confused me though, is there a reason why some of the gravity change triangles were automatic whereas for some others you had to press SPACE? (I mean this in terms of level design, I know that the red aura indicates that it's automatic)

Developer

Hey thanks for playing! Yeah, it's not well explained in game, but the manually triggered ones don't let you carry crates through, but the automatic ones do. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Cool game!

Developer

Thank you!

Really clever, beautiful and polished! I just don't quite like how the pink aura completely covers him when you press the gravity button, but that's nitpicking. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! We actually were torn between two different styles for the button press and we just had to pick one, so the feedback is really appreciated. Thanks for playing our game!

IT'S SO LONG I CAN'T FINISH IT

5/5 gameplay & graphics for sure

Cool game, but I felt like the puzzles were a bit easy and I solved them very directly. The mechanics are good so there could be some more interesting puzzles.

The art is beatiful and the music and sound design is really good, great work on the polish!

Developer

Yeah, we designed the puzzles from beginning to end. We wanted to get more in depth as we went, but simply ran out of time toward the end of the jam. Thanks for playing!

Really well polished game, the art and sounds are incredible combined with the cool mechanics.

Developer

Thank you so much! We are glad you enjoyed our game.

Very nice puzzler, well designed levels, not too hard, not too simple… and nice mechanics easy to grasp. Great entry!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad the difficulty ramp felt good, we really tried to streamline the difficulty a bit!

Fantastic - loved the range of puzzles, and was surprised and pleased that they just seemed to keep going! Very impressed by the number and variety :)

The art style is very cute, I particularly love the really distinctive and cool looking ground tileset. Music is great and is a perfect match for the gameplay

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Music and art are our favorite part of making games, so I'm glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for playing!

A fun game, it looks like you had fun as well designing it! ;)

I wish there were less buttons, are the all essential? Can some of them be simplified or collapsed into a unique button? Maybe the restart button could just a UI button in a pause menu?

Developer(+1)

Thanks, we did have fun designing it!

Yeah, at first we had one button to lift and interact, but some puzzles were difficult to interact with because the game didn't know if the player was wanting to lift a crate or use a gravity machine. I really appreciate the feedback because we want the game to be simple to play so the player can focus on the puzzles.

Thank you for playing our game and leaving great feedback!

One of the best games I have played from the jam yet! Really like the puzzle concepts, how they are gradually introduced (even with control hints inside of the levels). Also just how many puzzles there are and how they get progressively more difficult. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! We definitely tried to make a lot of puzzles (maybe too many lol). I'm glad our control hints worked, thanks for playing!

Really fun game with a lot of content, i would like it more if the more challenging level would come faster, they take a while in appear.

Developer

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, the beginning of the game is definitely a little slower, we might do a little post jam balancing.

This was great! Every level felt unique and the artwork is really nice!

Thanking you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

ALRIGHT y'all made a LOT of levels but I'm not mad because y'all kept adding unique, fun mechanics as the levels progressed. I think I made it to the end? I eventually hit this screen after the level with two interlocking pistons:

Great artwork and fun concept. I appreciated the attention to level design details and all of the different mechanics y'all implemented. Cave art and ambiance was on point and I especially liked the lava - it gave off a pretty dangerous vibe. Reset animation was very cool and music was also fire!

If there is one thing I would change it was that the hitbox on the lava was a bit large on the level where I need to push a block into it without falling in myself. Overall really fantastic game!!

Developer

Hey thanks for playing! Yeah that's definitely the end, we added a "Thanks for playing" screen, but realized it was broken after the deadline ended. Thanks for playing all the way through! Were definitely gonna end up making some minor hitbox and level tweaks post jam.

This has a simple and interesting mechanic to play with. Visuals and audio fit pretty nicely together. The song was long enough to not feel like it's getting repetitive, which is always welcome. I wish you explored the mechanics a little quicker. It felt like the first half of the game could have been greatly condensed to let players get to the newer mechanics without the risk of becoming bored. I did finish the game and escape into the void --- but I think this game would have felt much better with about half as many levels. Please don't take that the wrong way, because I think the mechanics are quite good and well explored. This is a solid pseudo-platformer/sokoban sorta game. Well done.

Developer

Thanks for the comment! I totally agree about the levels, we were originally planning on having multiple paths through the game, but that kinda got lost in the jam and the beginning ended up kinda dense. Thanks for playing all the way through!

Great game. I like the visual style a lot, and audio was nice. Puzzles were fun to play

Developer

Thanks so much! Seems like we had some similar ideas, I really enjoyed your game too!
