How does your game fit the theme "Unconventional Means"?
It's a platformer but the direction of gravity effects the controls and play area!

This is a really cool game! The gravity effects are awesome!
My only issue is that the character could stick to walls by moving into them.
The best part was the level design! Really cool, really liked it :D The only problem I have with the game is the janky jump, you sometimes get stuck in walls, but coding can be really hard, so it is understandable haha
Nice concept! Level two was great. A bit more polish on the platforming side of things, but it's mostly there. I really don't like level 4, it forces you to die multiple times.
This is fun to play! I thought the levels were well designed! There might be parts where you don't really know what's ahead because of the camera, but the levels are short and not frustrating so I think it works out just fine. I like the simple, clean look of the game too. Some parts might be able to use a little polish (like you probably shouldn't keep your speed when you respawn on I think level 4), but it didn't affect the game at all so that's fine too. Awesome job!
The Level Design of Level 2 felt really clever when you have to go back the way you came. In total it was quite a nice experience to play :)
This was fun!! The jump felt a bit too low, but that might just be me; and the level design was really cool, I love the concept! It was fun!
Cool game! Good job with the level design, the last level took me a minute, but I eventually got it! I liked the credits level too! Did you purposely allow for sticky platforms? If not, an easy fix is to create a new material for the player & make the friction level 0 on it. Overall, good job!
I'd appreciate it if you could play/rate my game as well! :)
If you do that then the palyer would never slow down and all platforms would be very slippery!
idk what program you use, but in Unity you just add a physics 2D material to the collider and it works just fine. If it's too slippery, you can probably just make multiple colliders (one for ground and one for sides) or adjust your speed variable. It always works for me, but maybe that's just a Unity trick?
I used Gdevelop. It's pretty limited as an engine and I don't think you can add multiple colliders. I also don't think that would work because when the direction of gravity changes a different side would be in contact with the platforms. I tried increasing linear dampening but it affected jumping. I also tried to change the speed when in collision with a platform but it bugged out. I'll keep working on it after the jam and see if I can find a solution. Thanks for the advice!
Of course! I rate every game that leaves a comment!
Liked the simplist design. It was fun to play! I missed a restart button.
great concept and fun game.
Had an issue where pressing space made the window scroll below the game, making platforming nearrly impossible Its still good otherwise
Loved the shadows made the game look very nice!
This is super fun and looks nice. I do wish there was some way to see what's coming ahead or make it so you can move faster mid air so it's not so trial and error on level 4. Still a very fun game. Great Job.
I enjoyed the game, but my biggest problem is how the jump option is a bit too low and kinda borders on trial and error. The main mechanic is great though!
This was great! Really good level design -very challenging and i liked how you reused the stairs when the gravity was flipped. Nice work! :D
What a game i loved it
The game is quite fun.
This was great. Every leap of faith I would take when I hit a gravity button without being able to see where I was gonna land was always really exciting.
wow love the concept
(mind checking my game out)?
I love the idea and how you executed it you should definitely turn it into a complete and polished game sometime.
Great idea, however the platforming mechanics are a bit janky and the perhaps the dangerous tiles could be made red, or some other more threatening color. Overall interesting and pretty fun submission.
The dangerous tiles are red 🤣
