Don't know if it's done out of necessity, as jams give you less time to polish graphics, but I really like the sketchy look of it. Sadly, I'm a particular kind of bad in rythm games, expecially when there is something to look at in the background... nicely done!

I didn't get the order of the buttons very well, but surprisingly I still got a 'B' on the last level...

For me the Up and Down would rather be the outer buttons, so Up, Left, Right, Down would be the order. It did help somewhat that each row's markers were pointing in their direction, though...

Fun game! Love the art and animations and the music was fun as well. I played horribly though lol. Not sure if it was the layout of the notes coming in or what. Maybe having a pulse going with the rhythm along the boxes you have to hit the notes on would help? Also maybe having colored bars lined up with where the notes are going so you can prepare better for what key you need to press? I like that the fireballs point in the direction of the button to press, but other things could help make things easier for the player over all.

Nice work to all!

I'm terrible at these kind of games but can still really appreciate the hard work put into it. Loved the art style.

Really liked that :)  Would be awesome to play with a guitar hero guitar haha!  Really enjoyed that though thank you :)

I have witnessed the thrilling conclusion of GoFalcon - nice job team!

Very unique entry and perfect length for a jam game, well done!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing till the end! :D I'm glad you think it's the perfect length, we wanted to keep it short in the hopes that people who play would get to see all the animations/stages ^_^

Really cool game. I especially adored the artwork, just like 'My Summer on Kaiju Island' the artwork and character designs were beautiful. I'd watch a whole cartoon of it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! It's easy to come up with character ideas for your jams because they are such great themes. Thanks for hosting, we can't wait for the next mech/kaiju jam! :)

Developer

Thank you!! :DD

Love the artwork and great use of limited animation - you've really got the frantic Trigger style poses down!  Found it kinda hard to get a good feel for the timing/rhythm of the button presses, maybe it's a feedback thing?

Developer

Thank you so much, especially for the comparison to Trigger! (Programmer here) You are right that sometimes the timing/rhythm is off, I noticed it happened sometimes if levels loaded slightly too slowly the notes would start scrolling at a slightly wrong tempo/not at the same start time as the music. It seemed random when it was happening so I couldn't pinpoint a fix for it before the jam ended. Thank you for playing it even with that issue though :)

I'm amazed by the amount of artwork and music you guys have produced in just 15 days!
Animations especially are really stylish and fluid.

I wish the first levels were easier and the difficulty upgraded through the levels, as well as sound and (bigger) visual feedback when you fail a key (easier to say than do tho). I think not having a "fail stage" is been a really good decision for this game too. As a player, you just want to see how the story keeps going!

Thank you! It was a lot of long days of animating and coloring between the two of us, it felt like working in an anime studio!

Thank you for your feedback too! I definitely wanted everyone to see all the animations we worked so hard on so I'm glad you appreciated the no fail state. I (the programmer) realized a bit too late that I had made the stages too hard >.> I play a lot of rythmn games and when I played this game while making it I was afraid it was too easy, but then found out everyone of our friends who played it said it was too hard. I'll definitely keep it in mind to have more beta testers while making beatmaps and not just when the game is finished. Thank you again for your nice comments and for playing it! :))

Really cool mech themed rythm game !

The artwork is really cool, i like the very sketchy lines, it really fits the very fast paced you made for the animations, the fights themselves look awesome... once you catch a glimpse of them XD cause i was so focused on trying to get the notes right i think i only saw some moments quickly, cause damn these songs are a bit hard when you're not all that good at DDR like games :p

The songs themselves sound really awesome though.

Well done to you all :)

Thank you for your comments about the artwork! :))))) Thanks for the feedback too, definitely realized after other people played the difficulty was a bit too hard and the animations hard to focus on with the buttons for the notes being all the way to the left😅 Possibly next time we ever make a rhythm game we'll put the buttons on the bottom in the center of the screen and that may make it a bit easier to see the animations! Thank you so much again for your comments and for playing, we all appreciate it! :D
