This is very clever! well done!! I wish I could add more than five stars to the "use of limitation" rating.
Brilliant use of the limitation!! Really fun too -awesome job on this!! :D
This is awesome! I like the whole idea and concept.
This is a nice and challenging game! The difficulty is tuned well so i never felt like i died in a cheap way. Very creative way use of the time limit!
An interesting use of the limitation! The arena being so cramped gives the whole game a sort of uphill fighting for your life battle kind of feel
Interesting concept! I especially like that the limitation is literally built into the level itself. Difficulty ramped up pretty quick for me, but none-the-less enjoyable. Nice job!
A genius take on the limitation. Gameplay feels very juicy and polished.
An amazing use of limitation on paper, but the game itself looks way better than it plays due to the nature of its design. If I were you, I'd probably have main character jump so he could avoid clock handles and have every clock cycle advance the arena in some way. For example, one clock cycle would introduce stage hazards, another one tougher enemy times etc etc. That way the game would've been much more deep and replayable. As it is, it's still a very good time, but way too limiting and it ends too quickly.
Probably my favorite use of the limitation, so good. The game itself was really well made in general. Amazing Work!!!
I felt like i was in a touhou game while doging all those bullets. great stuff ! i think if you plan to flesh out this game , a boss fight or upgrades would be a nice addition.
Great job matching the theme perfectly, 5 stars there! I was also thinking to myself "Man I hope there's a way to track the score so me and my friends can compete" and what do you know! There is! Very well executed
This one left me with mixed feelings. Conceptually the best integration of the theme I've seen so far, but the rest of the game is unfortunately not my cup of tea, mostly due to controls and artstyle. If I could play it with my controller in a twin stick fashion I think that would help a bit. It's a typical case of "I want to like it, but I can't" :D Difficulty was also a problem for me and the overall gameplay didn't click with me enough to push through the barrier.
This is nice mixture of challenging and fun. I love how far the implementation of time went, with the lost time on the clock pad causing damage to player if stepped on. It motivated me to make sure I don't run out of time, making the stakes ever so higher. The art was nice and the music was simple enough to be able to loop a lot without losing its quality. Overall a very nice experience!
Very cool! Great jam entry! Art style is cool as always, although I wish the camera angle was a lil more tilted to show off the 3D-ness of it (I assume it's 2D sprites in a 3D environment). Audio is okay but could be better. The arena clock/lily-pad is a cute and clever mechanic and probably going to be the most unique use of the theme AND limitation in the jam, great job there!
Obviously more enemy types and abilities would be nice, but it's jam so yeah, you did great!
Unsolicited Ideas; Maybe there should be a reason to step into the red area, like it powers up your shots but you still take damage. Slow down time?
Thanks for the feedback and for playing :). I thought it best to keep the camera like a traditional top-down shooter since it would be easier for people to play tbh lol. Though yes, the sprites are actually angled quite a bit so they are 2D sprites in a 3D world.
I also did contemplate having the red area give you a slight buff, although I wasn't sure how to actually balance that with some way of regaining health lol. So I thought I'd keep it simple. Either way though, thank you for playing
I really enjoyed the game. I think the idea of your health bar and time limit being connected was clever.
Enjoyment 5/5 - Really solid shooting, keeps it simple and fun with no flaws. Not much to say that I don't say elsewhere.
Concept+Execution 4/5 - Very fun concept for a shooter that makes for some fun moments, keeps it simple but that isn't a bad thing at all. Maybe could have benefited from an extra enemy type as its somewhat easy to find the perfect shooting strategy(at least till the rotation) but it still works great in the current state.
Presentation 4/5 - Just like the rest of the game, simple but polished to a shine. Sprites look good enough and the extra touches with shadows and such. Music could perhaps be better but it's serviceable for the game.
Use of Limitation 5/5 - Absolutely wonderful from how its presented to how it works. Not only does it create great game feel, it also makes for a dynamic experience of dodging and having less and less room to do so if you don't make a come back.
Overall, a simplistic experience but one that works really well for what it is. Wonderful work here, one of the best games so far!
I liked it simple and fun, very cool the way you used the timer😋
And the Oscar goes to… congratulations!
nothing to say... best game on the jam u deserve to win guys.
PS: dm we if u need to hire some i'm fanti#2609 hihi
Incredible! The game is incredibly smooth and enjoyable. My only recommendation is that the nature of the timer moving clockwise makes the "11-spot" the clearest space to be for longer. Maybe if the timer flipped clockwise and counterclockwise? Regardless, amazing experience; thank you!
