Fun, interesting and challenging game. Fantastic graphics and a very creative approach to the time mechanic. I almost feel like there should be a limit to the number of 'ghosts' along side you, because if you die too many times, it gets really cluttered on-screen and hard to see the space. Like maybe 10 'ghosts' maximum?
Otherwise, awesome concept!

I kind of liked it and kind of hated it. What frustrated me the most was, that I could not dash through an attack. But beside this, it is a nice job. Well done.
Wait you absolutely can dash attack.
Then I had really often a super bad timing.
I really liked this, the framerate was a bit bad for me but once I got used to it and understood the gameplay I really had fun.
I found a glitch that if you roll and then instantly jump you move really fast which made the whole game a lot more fun for me haha
Once a bit polished and the movement code a bit cleanuped this will be really cool and unique game
Not a bug, I intended for roll jumps. Also, try the windows version.
I really liked this game! The graphics first of all are amazing. Good job on doing this in 2 days! I did have a couple of issues though, the sword takes (in my opinion) too long to actually strike to feel responsive. Second, the concept of the game wasn't very clear at the start but after reading the comments here it was clear and I was able to use it to my advantage! Overall really cool!
I was kind of disappointed by this, I had high hopes for the concept, but it turned out to be less of a fun action game and more of a frustrating puzzle. Really cool thing to have made in this timeframe, just not my thing.
I'm sorry you feel that way. Puzzles aren't for everyone I guess.
Sorry man, really not trying to just be negative about your game. It is really cool, I just saw this, and remembering the concept brought up on one of your previous streams, I had a somewhat different expectation of what the game would be like and ultimately thought the concept had a lot of unrealized potential that could be elaborated on.
Overall the game looks really good and the control was mostly smooth, other than the fact that it seemed damn hard to get close enough to the eye guys to get a swing in. It seemed like some of the puzzles were also pretty difficult to recover from if you got a bad start, so maybe a reset option would have been helpful.
It's fine. I'm curious as to what you thought the unrealized potential was. How did you envision it working?
Well, I was hoping the mechanic would be used for more strategic combat than for straight puzzles. For example, the first thing I tried to do was use a ghost as a distraction to sneak up on an enemy.
My initial hope was that the enemies would either repeat their previous fire pattern each round or else be willing to target a nearby ghost, but they seem to always target the living player and their shots only hit the ghosts incidentally.
This meant that since my reflexes are old and I had trouble getting close, the best strategy I could come up with for avoiding shots and dealing with enemies was simply to fill the area with ghosts to have the highest chance of them intercepting enemy fire.
kill demons, die kill demons but with your ghost from last time
Super creative and fun concept, imagine this with multiplayer
Amazing graphics for just a game jam game!
Really great use of time mechanics. Had a blast discovering how it works. By the end I had a real army of ancient spirits guiding me 😅
This game is amazing, I can't believe it was made in such a short time span. Great work!
thank you. A lot of the little stuff like basic movement and interaction and things are part of a library I've built up over lots of game jams. Also a lot of the scenery items were models I used from www.kenney.nl.
I mainly did all of the character modelling and of course the time rewind stuff and puzzles.
Oh wow, kenney's got a lot of cool assets. Thanks for the eye-opener!
Really good use of the mechanich for the puzzles. Game was quite enjoyable and is good to see some good 3D in this game jams.
In principle, I liked the idea and the concept, it can get into the top ten.
Nice graphics, and the controls are pretty comfortable!
Awesome concept! I also like the visuals. Only the controls felt a bit unresponsive which made fighting a bit frustrating
I've made some updates to address these issues:
I'd be grateful if you gave it another go.
This looks very interesting, and the presentation is great, but the input lag when attacking made me rage quit. Also, the first level is very confusing, and it took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. But overall, pretty impressive for a weekend jam!

Damn this was very cool! With a bit more gameplay polish this would be an excellent game. Main issues:
1. should be easier/simpler at start to teach concepts, I actually didn't even understand that killing enemies got recorded until the second map!
2. died many times from the attack animation causing me to bump into enemies
3. the first level probably should be shorter, or maybe later in the game it's fine but it got pretty frustrating repeating the whole thing when trying to do stuff at the end and still not fully understanding the game etc at first
Again though, this was super cool and congrats on making it!

Cool idea! the puzzle parts with the pressure plates and doors and stuff remind me a lot of The Talos Principle.
also how your past selves fight for you is a really cool effect and I like the low poly style.
I do have 3 big problems with the game, however.
1. Sometimes inputs are eaten. There were multiple times I pressed roll and did not roll.
2. The time it takes to "rewind" after death is really long, it feels really punishing to die, but some puzzles you need to die to solve them.
3. The framerate is really low - this isn't as huge a problem as the other two, it would just be nice if it was higher. I can understand having it run at a low framerate if you want it to kinda have that "old school" style that the cover has, but in my opinion, low framerates and slowdown should stay in the past.
I've just updated to fix some bugs and make some difficulty tweaks but it seems like the majority of your problems are unfortunately performance related, I'm uploading a windows version as we speak that may perform much better. Please give it a shot!
just downloaded the exe and it feels a lot better!, i guess its just a webplayer issue?
I just beat it, and i gotta say- really fun.
surprisingly long. i was almost expecting it to say "you win" when i beat the first level, but then was pleasantly surprised :)
after the tweaking (and not using web version), it almost feels like a demo for a full-blown action/puzzle game.
very good 👍
thank you so much for the kind words and giving it another shot
All my friends died and I'm on fire :)
I love the concept and the time roll back felt good. There was too many projectiles in section two which made the section frustrating.
I've updated the game with some difficulty tweaks, please give it another shot as there is a decent amount of content here.
I didn't realize the concept on my first pass. The idea is incredible ,I'll definitely up my review :)
