Excellent game! The instructions are great. There's one thing that could be improved though. When the enemy sends a lot of black orbs, they can be deflected by pressing all the keys. I think it could be avoided by shooting the white orbs in pairs with the black ones (one black orb and one white at the same time).

Developer

Oh, That's a cool solution! Thank you! I'll definitely try it out!

I love the concept! The tutorial was really useful, so I had no trouble understanding how to play the game. I am gonna be honest, I spam all the buttons at once, and I was unbeatable xd, so maybe adding a one button at a time rule would be good there. Other that that. I really enjoyed it!

Developer(+1)

Yes, I tried to counter that by making so you shouldn't hit the light orbs but I do agree with you on that! I think I'm gonna make it so that if you hit it too early, it still hits you. I'm gonna experiment with that but if not, I'll have to go with your suggestion!

Really cool concept!! I liked how the deckbuilding and spacing of enemies let you balance the risk and reward, I think what kept me from getting properly into it was the placement of the rhythm keys and how central not messing up the rhythm mini-game is. Attacks come vertically but the keys are placed horizontally on the keyboard. It's a bit disorienting, especially with the high speed the notes come in at. Animations, music and concept are all really cool though, real quality entry!

Developer(+1)

Yes! I also struggled with that myself! I'm gonna definitely change the orientation of the room so that its much less confusion, sorry about that!

never thought i'd see a card + rhythm game combined, very well made art and fantastic music to go along with it

Developer

I'm planning on improving this idea with more music and better timing for the enemy attacks! :D

Submitted

Damn, crazy that this was made in such a short time. I'm not really good at rhythm games so I wasn't able to go further than the first enemy but even so the gameplay is fun. The music and art is also really solid

Overall a great entry well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! And yes, the game is a bit too hard really, but if you beat the first enemy, that was the intended difficulty so you are goood! I think its also my fault for not adding better cards to deal with the enemies but I'm planning on adding more cards that combo with each other, and I'll add an enemy intent on top of the enemy so that you know before hand how hard he'll go on his next move!

Damn!
This game is worth the dev time and the players time.
So much that it may worth polishing, giving it a few new features and selling it.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, I'm definitely planning on working more on this idea and polishing more, but it will still remain free for future plans!

Nice game! The art is beautiful! I would like to see some randomness in the cards in your hand, so you have to be more careful about the cards you play. Great entry, congrats!

Developer(+1)

The artist says "Thank you so much ".  I agree with you! I'm planning on making more cards for the game and that the cards you pick in the beginning turn into a deck instead of having them every turn! Did you have another mechanic  for this in mind if I may ask??

Submitted

Well, if you’re planning to make a bigger game, you could try to do something like a dungeon explorer, similar to “backpack hero”. Maybe collecting items or more cards as you’re exploring and facing stronger enemies each floor. This is just a suggestion and could be something you’re not interest in, but it’s what came to my mind XD.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I love that! I was thinking of making it like slay the spire type of roguelike but now I may re think that!

Very interesting gameplay, and so original! I don't think I've seen it in any other games before. And I certainly did not expect to play a rhythm game in this jam XD The art is soo cute, I love it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, it as my first attempt at a rhythm game and it actually was not intended to be one but it turned out for the best! The artist also loves your art too by the was XD.

Submitted

Really cool concept! The art is really nice and consistent and I love the deckbuilding aspect, makes it a different experience to play again. I suck at timing on these kind of games and sometimes it seemed like the dark energies were coming slowly enough and other times it was an onslaught! Is that based on something (like amount of rounds played) or is it random? Great job btw!

Developer(+1)

hahaha, yeah I didn't get much time to give enemies indicators of how strong their next attack will be.  When an enemies health drops below 50%  their pattern gets longer and faster! first enemy has 10hp, the second 25hp and the third 35hp.  I added the last two for people that wanted a challenge, but the intended difficulty for the game is  the first monster!

The idea of deck building and rhythm to defend is great! Art and music are very cool! Good job

Developer

Thank you! The musician  and artis worked very hard on this, I'm glad you liked it! If you have any ideas on what can be improved of the gameplay, I'd love to hear it!

Submitted

Very nice! Art style is wonderful

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you! It was hard for me to make a good medium for our artist to work with because I didn't make any story panel and the concept was kinda random haha! But she really made the best with what she had!

Submitted

fun idea and cute concept, music is dope

Developer

Thank you! Our musician  played all the instruments for the song so he really tried to give it his all! His name is also Marcos so for a second I though he created an account to say this hahaha

Submitted

The concept is very cool, and art and music too! Really fun, good job

Developer

Thank you! Our team worked almost non stop for three days so I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Really cool concept, Im a sucker for rythm games so I loved the combination of tactics + rythm. Music sounds good too!

Developer

It's so cool that you like rhythm games! It as my fist attempt at one! Do you have feed back on how we can make the rhythm  or tactics aspect better!? We have a few future plans for the game so we'll be adding more songs, cards and syncing better the music with the attacks!

Submitted

The game felt hard at times, but I cant really tell if it was the tracks or the control scheme, maybe experimenting with a horizontal layout will yield better results? The tactics aspect felt really cool, in order to better it I would add more options. Overall good job!

Submitted

Excellent polish. Sounds are great and concept is very cool. I'm not one for rhythm games so found the 4 axis controls being vertical on screen and corresponding to  horizontal inputs hard to rewire but it's probably not a design issue.

The light hitting you adding resources is a cool idea and makes the gameplay a little less "just spam every button" which is a good design choice.

Developer

Yes, i agree with you, I'm definitely rotating the orientation of the game so its easier to get! As a person that doesn't  gravitate much to rhythm games, what features you'd like to see in a rhythm game that maybe makes you want to give it a try!? I 'd love some more feed back from someone like you!

Submitted

Hey really nice game! I like the concept its very cool. Art is great too!

Developer

Thank you, I'm working on improving a lot of the things that made the game too hard so hopefully it's a lot better in the future!
