Nice game and beautiful music. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the music!

Great music! Listening to it made my brain try to remember the wonderful mountain climbing experience that I never had. I will suggest a campfire sound to add to the game.

Love this comment! I agree, SFX would have really added to the atmosphere, and I am really kicking myself for not implementing it. Thank you for playing, and leaving some feedback!

Music and atmosphere was very nice. A little bit of sound effects and animations here would go a long way also I couldn't feed the tree to the fire it craves the trees xD

Developer

haha I couldn't agree more! Next jam I do, I will definitely allot time for those things. Thanks for playing, plus the feedback!

nice and simple, definitely has potential... I would suggest making everything pixel perfect, since movement feels way to smooth compared to the pixel size of the art (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

Hey Macrow, thanks for playing! I appreciate the feedback!

A very short and cold game, which reminds me of Don't Starve where you always have to stay warm :)

If you could try and rate my game, I'd be grateful!

Developer(+1)

That's quite the compliment! Thank you for checking it out, and I did indeed follow your comment back to your game!

Submitted(+1)

I agree with the others. I really enjoy the music :D

It feeled cool to play!

Developer(+1)

As long as you liked the music, I am satisfied with my work! Thank you for listening playing!

The music is really good, it reminds me of Toby fox's stuff (I think someone else said this too so its not just me). Do you have a sound cloud I could check out? The one problem I had was it felt disconnected from the game play. Maybe make the fire pulse to the music or something?

Developer

I think I made a Soundcloud account eons ago, however I don't maintain it. I do however have a small YouTube channel that I'd love to recommend you: My YouTube :) Regardless, thank you very much for checking my game out!

The song is really beautiful, great production and vibe.

Developer

I spent more time on the song than the game itself, so that means a lot. Thanks for leaving a comment!

Cute little game, excellent music. Gameplay is meditative.

Developer

Thanks a lot! I am glad you enjoyed the music!

Such beautiful music! It warmed my heart playing this. Good job!! 😁

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad the music found its way to you!

The music is lovely indeed, very chill, and the pixel art looks cute too.

I was collecting all the things and leveled up the fire but wasn’t sure what the leveling up did after the 2nd time. I think the first time it made you faster and increased the lit up area around you but then I didn’t see any change.

Developer

I spent all my time on the music and didn't do anything beyond a third upgrade. I hope you didn't farm for long waiting for something else! :( Thank you very much for checking my game and leaving a review. I'm glad you enjoyed the music! 🎵

Loved the music. Reminded me in parts of Undertale :)

Developer

This comment got me pretty pumped, ngl. Absolutely love that OST, and I definitely hear some 'Snowy' in this game's music! Thank you for commenting on it :)

the gameplay loop is kinda boring BUT everything else is amazing, the menus are great, the music is great and the pixelart is cool too

Developer

As long as you enjoyed the music, I am happy! Thank you for playing, and I will definitely work on a stronger game loop next time around!

The music fit so wall , at the beginning had hard time understanding how to throw to the fire but overall had fun

Developer

I'm glad, and  thank you very much for giving it a go!

this game is so cute, i really love the music!! (i'm sorry you didn't get to eat any cookies while developing :( )

Developer

Thanks for commenting! I put most my efforts into recording a nice song for this :) Also, I love the Totoro PFP.

Amazing music

Developer

My goal was accomplished then! Thanks!

It feels a little bit lackluster in gameplay but I love the art style and the music is very good! The start menu was also super awesome it was just the gameplay was not super clear!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for trying it out, and the honest review! I really make games as a medium to show my music to people, but I do agree that I should have spent a little more time fleshing out more complete gameplay/instructions. Next time!

Submitted(+1)

I feel a bit harsh on this review because overall everything was well made and obviously with more time more stuff could be added. This was my first review and I was not quite in the mindset but after some thought I have a few suggestions which I feel is a more appropriate way to respond!

Maybe a threat is in the dark? Or maybe if you are in the dark for too long you lose? Then you could make it so that the light of the fire slowly dwindles while not fed.

Leveling up the fire was very cool!!

Developer (1 edit)

Those are fantastic suggestions! I had considered putting some sort of beast in the game to pursue the player, but I spent all my time on art and music haha. Thanks for the feedback!
