Very nicely polished, the art style is very creative and visually interesting. I also think the gameplay and genre blend concept is really well thought out. There are a couple intrinsic design choices here that really get in the way of my enjoyment, however. For one thing, I think the fov being tied to the player’s velocity is a good idea but the execution here is way too aggressive and feels nauseating. As well, because the beats to time my moves to are so far apart, I find it difficult to use the “dash mechanic” or sprint or whatever you’d like to call it. The only useful move for the most part is the jump, because the beat timing really requires me to be patient with my platforming. I think some better thought out level design would help in this regard. Overall though its clear that there is a high level of polish and technical skill at work so nice job!

thanks for the long post ! Yeah I definitely sucks at making level xD if I made a full release I will try to improve everything you said

Really cool game! I had a lot of fun with this one, definitely one of those games where you start to feel like a jedi once you get good at it :D
I am, not as good at keeping a rhythm as I thought, it turns out :P I did get part way through the third level though!

The music great, the look of the game is wonderful too! the mechanics are tuned well! great work! this is wonderful!

Wow! Loved the art and the core gameplay - super addicting! I have been playing for a very long time, definitely feels great when you hit that jump right on beat. I think this has some serious potential to be a full release. My only issue is the FOV when you dash, it wobbles a bit which can make it tricky to land accurately on a  platform, and though I did get used to it, I think it could be toned down a bit. The music did get a bit repetitive after a while but besides that all the sound and art was amazing, insane that you got all that done in 48h!! Well done, fun platformer with an addicting twist :)

Developer(+1)

thanks you so much ! After reading all these positive comments... maybe a will try to make a full release! But I’ll need time ´cause this version is far to be polished, in my opinion xD

Yeah the FOV , the UI and the synch are the problem the other said, I will try to be more aware of this kind of problem next time xD

Yeah I think a certain level of polish would be required, but this is an awesome start. If you can do this in 48 hours, I think with more time this could be a really cool game, the core mechanics are definitely there. Good luck with wherever you take this!

This game is very impressive!

This is an incredible game! Loved most everything.

The instructions could definitely be improved . Didn't know there was explanation text until I read the comments.

Such a great game! I can hardly believe you made that much content in 48 hours, and I haven't even finished it yet :D
Music's great, I love the graphics, love the controls and gameplay.
I somehow managed to miss all the instruction text until the grabbing walls bit, so it was very confusing to try and work out the controls. Maybe make the instructions a bit more obvious for idiots like me? :P
Also maybe keep the text on for longer, or perhaps until you actually manage to do the thing they're describing, but I appreciate that's a bit harder :D
Extremely minor gripes though, what a fun game :)
As soon as I discovered the dash thing and what it could do and got the hang of the rhythm, I was loving it even more!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the long reply! Yeah after doing many many game jam, I'm really organize and so time was not a probleme. Tutorial are always my number one problem. Thanks a lot again!

OK, after playing quite a bit more of it (I've nearly finished to level 3, not including the tutorial one. You know, the one with the dark matter), I have a couple more things to say.
The system you've made makes for so many unique scenarios, which is really cool, and you've been very creative with the level design, I love that :)
You do have a problem with the music synchronisation, though. Sometimes it's in time, and it's magnificent, but most of the time it drifts out a bit, and it loses that magic, although it doesn't ruin the game for me, I can still get the timing right by looking at the red circle at the bottom, and enjoy the it very much still. That would be the first thing I'd try to fix though, as it'll make the game much more satisfying :)
I had a similar problem with my game, and to fix it, I based all the timing directly on the music, in the code, rather than maing them separately and then trying to make them match. Does the software you're using have any way to get how far through the song you are, because that could help?
Also, when you tell the player about the dark matter, it's not very clear that it's coming up from the bottom, acting like a time limit, so the wording there could do with tweaking. I didn't realise that and just thought it was a bug, on the level after the tutorial, because I didn't notice the text at the start of the level :P So that was annoying :D
Also, I've had a couple of times where I jump while I'm on a platform moving upwards, and I go really high in the air. Just thought I'd let you know about that bug (I assume it's a bug?), if you didn't already know :)
Please understand though that these are just minor things, and all I'm trying to do is help polish an already brilliant game :D
I've been playing it for a few hours now, and I'm still enjoying it :)
Oh, one last thing: how many levels are there? :D I'm just sort of blindly continuing with the game, but I do need to go to bed at some point :P

Very satisfying controls, and beautiful graphics. I would finish it but I got stuck when the yellow grab thing came in. Overall a fun game! :)))

Developer(+1)

Oh yeah the tutorial has a little bug at this part, you need to Right Click while aiming the yellow platform, in the rythm. But at the third one you need to jump into the void because your not close enought for grabbing it! Thanks for playing !

Cool graphics! But gameplay is difficalt.

Every aspect of this game is stuning, I love the beat , and the aesthetic , but the gameplay is kinda out of sync and limited. But as you live , you learn , so , i hope you'll do better!

Submitted

Would be an awesome game if it wasn't that frustrating : the beat feels out o f sync, the timing is short, and the player jump too far, causing to fall way too mine. It's a shame, I loved the beginning !

Submitted

I liked your game a lot, was really nice made!

The only thing I would change is the red line in 3rd level, that one feels so wrong xD

Submitted

The aesthetic is *chef's kiss*. Took me a while to think rythmically as I moved, jumping to the beat while you worry about landing correctly on the next paltform is very challenging! Great job!

Submitted

Really cool game. Using UE4 is uncommon so congrats for knowing the engine. Art style is beautiful. Music is good but it does not fit the timing very well. Also my computer freeze during gameplay :( Overall the idea is great and creative. Great job :)

If you have a moment please check out my game too :)

Man, this was so close to perfect, the controls are variety are on of the best, the art and music are also very cool, I just think the 3rd level was a bit overkill in dificulty for me. Cheers! 9.5/10

Love the game, cool idea, hard to play tho! It take me a lot to get the double jump working, but still, I enjoyed it a lot.

Submitted

Game looks and plays very nice but is a little difficult for player not very good at Rhythm games i.e. myself. Different difficulty setting might have made it more accessible, also there's a glitch in the second level where I was send straight back to the start. I uploaded my playthrough of your game on my channel check it out and you can actually see the glitch on there.

The idea is cool and works nicely, but the change of FOV while accelerating give a really weird impression. I was a bit lost at times due to this. Other than that, the mechanic works great, having to focus on the tempo. And the art is quiteunique, it does have a vibe!

Submitted

brilliant idea, love the art style and the music , just try to fix the gameplay a little bit, good job

Submitted

Very nice! Loved the art style and the idea! The only things I can complain about are that the music is sometimes offbeat relative to the circle so it was easier for me to just look at the circle. I don't know if it's just me, but the game felt a bit laggy and I got a little dizzy while playing it.

But overall it's a very good game!

Developer(+1)

Oh I never heard of lag before, I will try to optimise it in a near future. Yeah always that problem of UI and the beat of the music, I will polish it too! Thanks for the reply!

Submitted

Maybe it's just my PC...

Submitted

Really really good! Nice idea, art, sound & imlpementation, only thing I would change is where the UI is at, or I looked at the game or the beat circle, so that kinda ruined my experience, because the game is gorgeous and fun!
