Does your game contain AI-generated content?
No

How does your game fit/incorporate the theme of the game jam?
The game is set in the future, where Neuro is gathering up remnants of data on her creator Vedal from people they knew in the past. The game is also modeled on Abandoned Archive (wishlist today), which is the remnants of a potential game Vedal was going to make (in the past)

Very well done and cute game. Very unexpected history and game title, really made me laugh.

Thank you for making it.

This one actually made me cry I was not expecting that 😭
Simple story that hit right in the feels, the gameplay was pretty fun and I liked trying out the different weapons, the dialogues were cute, the art is really good (I love the character sprites!) and the audio fits well. Unfortunate that there wasn't enough time to do much content for the later half of the game (the meta jokes were funny though lol), but it still manages to have a proper progression and ending despite that. If there was more time, besides just more content, I would love to have seen more creative weapons like the shock collar which was quite special and fun to play around with. I feel like a bullet hell style boss fight would have been really fun here too. Of course, those things are outside the scope of the jam, and this was a really great experience as it is!

Cute art I loved all of the art, and cool weapons diversity, I can't believe a bandoned archive released

Lovely story, also a nice variety in the gameplay, with the enemies and weapons.

Playthrough - Very cool game! I feel like the 4th part was too easy but other than that, great job! :D

Great entry! Beautiful art, nice jokes / callbacks. The combat is a little easy, I was corner camping everything with the shock collar, but it seems to me that the story was the main focus anyway. I'm also amazed at how well the webGL version runs.

and when Layna said "there's no time, the game jam's ending" I felt that in my soul

Thanks for playing! I somewhat intentionally set combat pretty easy just so people could just get the feel of how the enemies operate. Since the main reason its so easy is the fact that Jim Bag basically always keeps your health topped off. Lets just say if Vedal plays the game with Neuro down the line, he may find Neuro controlling Jim potentially less cooperative c:

just a reminder to anyone else reading this comment and discovering there's a web version, feel free to play that one if you aren't comfortable with downloading the game, but please do not rate the game based on just that, because that was created after the game jam ended. While it is the same game with no updates, I can't really prove that. So only rate the game if ya downloaded it please. Thanks!

The swarms are various! they've been designed well!

Hope I could become one of them after I die. XD (though I will not attack neuro probably)

Developer(+1)

swarm was a public asset pack i had made c: so if you wanna use em in the future they can be found at https://maliththeoldman.itch.io/neuro-sama-swarm-pixel-assets

Nice game ! I like the diversity with the different enemies and weapons. I also really like how the holograms look. Nice work !

Looks great! Sad it was only the three days cause this shows a lot of promise. Keep it up!

Developer

got farther than I would otherwise have from all the time I saved thanks to a big ol Swarm Asset pack! Good thing that existed, props to the guy who made that ;)

I kind of have some idea similar to this the start of the jam, but it took me like 2 days just to make neuro, so I just change course. Glad to play this game

Developer

nice, if you have any random suggestions do let me know c: I plan to add some more content to finish up the game after a bit

Not much really, I think the best one would make the dodge into a spin cause she spin a lot, and also make it easier to time the dodge

Developer

oh thats a good call, i forgot to give it any animation. thanks!

Super fun game, one of the best I've played this jam. Certified banger

This game broke for me at the unpacking stage

Developer

Oh huh, could you elaborate on that? Would be happy to figure out how to fix it. I know some people have had trouble with false malware flags, but that prevents the downloading, not the unpacking, as far as I am aware

Great work! Really liked the weapon choices and enemies, sad this was a 3-days game jam cause I wanted to play more of this! Still, nice humor on the time constraint of it all, and nice bittersweet ending. Great job!

Developer

Glad you liked it! I do plan to at least finish the content that was missing even after the jam, and probably even add some form of Boss Fight against Evil, since their conflict is a bit anticlimactic so far. But first I need to get my sleep back hehe

Submitted

that sounds great, I'll be there to play the update then! Good luck and good rest!

Truly the best Abandoned Archive I have ever played (I haven't played in any other). Very pretty art. Could use some locking doors mechanic so player wouldn't escape from combat. Good work!

Developer(+1)

yea, thats a very sensible suggestion. since its a game jam, i figured i didn't want it to get annoying to keep fighting the same enemies if you get lost and backtrack a lot through the same rooms, so I just left combat optional for now. But I can absolutely add doors that delete only once the room is cleared ^_^

Fantastic game, love the holograms, enemy design and ending. Very very well made!!

Sadge.

I really love how smooth the controls are! Won't be voting yet, I want to finish it first! But I LOVE it so far

This is very similar to a game that I recently wishlisted on Steam called Abandoned Archive. This one is a lot cuter though.
