Ok I needed 60 seconds to catch my breath after this one.... INTENSE! Really good game, the locked perspective kept me moving forward, afraid of what was behind. Liked that you could just catch a glimpse of the enemy over the maze too, helped with navigational choices rather than just rushing blindly to my doom. I think the thing that made it work best of all was the story - very brief but set the tone really well - it takes the whole 'just 1 more game' to a horror survival level.  I'll be sure to leave abandoned alley phones alone in the future though haha

Thanks! Yeah, There was a bit of frustration when testing if the monster came out of completely nowhere. While it still does, I made it larger than the maze so most of the time you can see the top of it's head! For some monsters this doesn't work but for most is does!

Also, yeah, I liked making the creepy-pasta style story, it can be simple, but I'm glad that it worked out! Thank you so much for playing the game, and for the really kind words. And yeah, maybe it's best to leave abandoned phones abandoned xD

Cool, cool, I didn't want to sleep tonight anyways.

Crazy that even with all the limitations of the jam you made a scary ass game! Nicely done man. I would play it again, but I'm a big scaredy-cat...

Thanks for playing, and for the kind comment! I'm actually really surprised at how effective the game ended up being xD

It's a pretty dang good horror game for the Nokia restrictions, awesome job! Would have liked to see a little more variation between walls in each level because it was a little easy to get disoriented, but I still had fun navigating around.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad that the horror aspect of the game worked out well! It was something I was honestly worried about, but it looks like my worries were for nothing!

I 100% agree with the disorientation problem, and I've worked to fix that for a post-jam version of the game! Now the camera smoothly rotates instead of snapping 90 degrees. It's less 'retro' that way, but it's also easier to figure out where you are!

I was terrified. 5/5 just don't haunt my dreams...

Spooky and fun! The level is well designed that I wasn't really lost. nice!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! -- I did try to make the mazes sort of Loop into themselves-- so it shouldn't be too easy to get lost, and if you do it should be easy to find out where you are! I'm glad that that has worked out!

Really cool. Love the concept and execution. The white squared rooms are a little bit of an eyesore, though that might just be me. Great game!

Developer

thank you so much!

I can agree that the squared rooms aren’t too good- originally they were in to add variety though in retrospect I should have just made them a solid color! I’ll probably change that post-jam!

Great game! i love when the monster just comes around the corner, although i did find a glitch which let me glitch out of the map, i was just running around and i saw the monster infront of me, so i turned around and spammed forwards as fast as i can and the next thing i know is that i am out of the map. Good Job fitting all of this in a game jam tho!

Developer

thank you so much! I also really like how tense things can get with the monsters in the game! I have heard about that wall collision issue, and I’m hoping to fix it before the jam is over. :)

Pretty good representation of a first person 3D perspective, considering the limitations! Nice work.

Developer

thank you!
