Description
I imagine the game as a fast-paced retro platformer. I used FL Studio to make the album, and everything was made exclusively with SNES soundfonts.

Theme:

Tick Tock...

How does it fit the theme?
Blinkers experience time much faster than humans, and only have a few precious moments to accomplish their goals. From the second their lives begin, the clock starts ticking down.

Oh daym, that's some very authentic retro game sound!

Amazing work!

Very cool stuff. I personally liked calm tracks more than the energetic ones (my favorite one is Time Is Money Is Power though, it has a great name and is a banger overall, I wish it lasted longer), but they are all very well-made. All tracks have a strong and memorable character, they definitely would work great in a fast paced-retro platformer.

These tracks did such a great job of evoking their era, I'm really impressed. There's more to it than just the soundfonts, authenticity also comes from the way the themes are treated, the balance of genres, the rhythms - you really nailed it across the board. Even those elements that would have been impossible or near-impossible with a commercial cart on the S-SMP were welcome and fun variations on the classic setup. Really great work.

Very nice 8-bit! Every track is complete and not boring or repetative, great job!

Little Slice of War: There is an optimistically ominous feeling I get from listening to this track. As a title or menu theme, I do think it would set the expectations well for the premise of the game that there is only a finite amount of time before something bad will happen.

Bulletman (Stage 1): This has great energy to it and has all the elements of a classic SNES soundtrack. I like the addition of the tubular bells and the transition into the more Eastern sounding B section. It also has a very pleasant loop transition. I would have a lot of fun playing this level!

A Broken Clock is Right All the Time (Stage 2): This has a really cool phrygian sound, and an energy that I think would be right at home in a Kirby game. The latin-y B section is so cool and is probably my favorite part of your entire OST!

War Shop: The bossa nova rhythm is perfect for a shop theme and makes me feel more relaxed than a war shop probably should. :)

Time-Honored Tradition (Stage 3): Another great level theme that fits very nicely with the other levels and helps keep the entire OST both fresh and cohesive.

The Fourth Hand (Stage 4): I really like the melody of this track. The whole vibe feels like a Pokemon track (battle themes) and the B section even has some of the same harmonic elements to it. I like the use of the fast 6/8 time signature.

March of the Bullets: The baritone saxophone in the bass has such a unique sound but works really well in this OST giving it a more gritty sound than a brass instrument would - good selection!

Time is Money is Power: Great adaptation of the previous theme for a more intense feel to it. My favorite part is the organ(?) part with the alternating low pedal tone.

Blink and You’ll Miss It: This theme seems like it would accompany either a game over scene or a pre-boss area with the calm but sinister sound. I really like the swelling pad effects.

Overall: This is a full-fledged SNES game OST! I would have believed you if you told me this is the actual soundtrack to a game I could have played as a kid. Overall your soundtrack offers many excellent musical ideas while staying true to the style you selected, creating a very cohesive sound. Overall great work and thank you for sharing!

This was such a blast to listen to!!! I caught myself bobbing my head in time to most of the tracks. I think my favorite is stage 2, mostly because of the killer brass. Also, awesome cover art as well, looks authentic!

This is awesome, super funky. Love the whole SNES theme, from the art to the nice soundfont choices. The game lore is great too, I would 100% play it!

I love the concept for this game! The music immediately caught my attention from stage 1 on. I loved the shop theme as well, gave me really good retro vibes. Overall, I got some serious Kirby meets Sonic vibes, and I think it fits really well with the game you've presented. Easily my favorite submission I've heard yet. Great work!!!

SOUNDS SUPER GOOD! You've clearly mastered this genre haha. Also really love how you make a comprehensive list of imaginary stages/sections of the game, that makes each song feel like they've got their own home!

Btw, did you make the cover art? It's really well-drawn.
