Description
The genre spans from easy going folk to organ based upbeat rhythms. I used Reaper as my DAW with plugins to help me out.
Message from the artist
This was my first OST jam and I got to learn a lot in music production, looking forward to the next one where I will be more equipped. Made a few tracks for the jam and ended up uploading really late so there might be some inconsistencies.
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
Sayako is a 22 year old girl out of college struggling to get a job in the US, her mother is Japanese and father is american. Her mom passed away when she was 12 and her and her dad moved to the US soon after. She grew up without a mother with her father caring for her and barely had any childhood because of life's realities. She got into a great college for international relations and cultural studies and even though she passed with flying colours she’s had a hard time getting jobs after college. Right now she is working at a dead end job with no hope in mind. She is tired and by herself, her dad is getting old and she is the only one to care for him.

I liked the last 2 tracks for the very different vibe they gave. If I had one piece of advice it's that it doesn't feel like the songs go anywhere new than where they started so they got a little bit boring after a bit.
Put in some new sections with different melodies and harmonies to really flesh out the pieces.
Interesting soundtrack. While every track is unique, it corresponds to the overall "feel" of the game. Nice job!
Your soundtrack does a great job at matching the feeling of your (very depressing lol) game idea. Each track has its own identity without sounding disparate with the rest of the soundtrack, which I enjoyed.
Good work!
Interesting soundscape you have here. I like the blend of instruments and beats you used. And of course, the story and artwork are really good as well.
Nice soundscapes and atmospheres. For these tracks lack a bit of organized melidic lines. Overall good work!
Enjoyable soundttrack, but I have the feeling that some of the loops maybe go on a tad long. On the other hand, you have a solid degree of variety between the tracks, which helps ground them in different emotional environemnts.
Echoes - really sounds like an echo of something... And this bit is great! I love the combination of such instruments, synthesizers and ORGAN!
Blossoming - Hey, it's cozy and cute! I like it)
Anxiety to do well - Heh... I like a slight departure from the style of the previous tracks! It creates a curious mixture of determination and... tension? In any case, it's colorful
Puppet Master - This track has an unusual sound and it rocks! Cool!
Cool job! Thanks!
P.S. Heh... this is my second OST jam, where I also had to learn a lot from music)
Thank you for going through each of my tracks and letting me know what you like !
This should have way more reviews, all tracks are unique and varied and so well done. Amazing work!!!
Great harmonic variety and a research in the ambiences! Good submission!
Thank you ! This was an experiment on finding what all stuff I could do with my new DAW setup. Haven't had a DAW before this so went a little crazy. Thank you for your comment ! Appreciate it !
The variety here is really nice. Anxiety to do well really captures the essence of pressure that I imagine Sayako would feel in her situation. It has a heavy sense of isolation, exhaustion, and feeling trapped as you described. I think Puppet Monster is my favourite though thanks to how unsettling it sounds :D
really like the vibe!
Great mix of tracks! Blossoming was a departure from the tone of the prior tracks, quite a refreshing change of pace and tone. Echoes (part 1) in particular reminds me of some older Tekken soundtracks, of which I hold in high regard personally. Can't quite put my finger on it, but as a whole it reminds me of something I'd hear on the PSP - a console with far too many great soundtracks that don't get their due respect.
Great work, especially so for your first Jam entry!
Some really cool ideas! It really does feel like the soundtrack is telling a story.
