Message from the artist
I've never really done orchestral stuff before and it's been a while since I made music in general so this was a challenge, but I feel like I learned a lot. Wish I'd found this jam sooner!

Thank you!
The harp in The Fountain sounded a lot like the first level in Mario galaxy on the planet with Rosalina and that was super cool!
I really like the harp at the beginning of The Fountain. Great Job!
For your first attempt at orchestral it's not too bad of an effort. It sounds a bit heavy on the low end. When it comes to orchestra you balance you EQ with your composition. When you have a lot of low brass and strings dominating the track, it helps to bring in some higher woodwinds to balance out the EQ. Having said that, you do a good job at building up to some great dynamic moments. Orchestra is very fun to write for and I do hope you continue to have fun with it.
Four Winds Town Theme: The pulsing cello gives a sense of determination, and the woodwinds and brass overtop with the slower melody make it feel a little relaxed which helps overall create a nice town theme!
The Fountain Theme: The oboe and double bass duet is really an interesting combo that works well here! The rising bell arpeggios give this area more of a frozen feel to it. I think it is a really neat effect that the bells and flute together sound sweet at the end despite it being almost the same as the oboe before, which had more of a mysterious sound to it. Overall I really enjoyed these two tracks and I definitely want to encourage you to keep making music! You have the start of an entire RPG world here! Keep going! Thanks for sharing!
Considering this was outside of your wheelhouse and you haven't made music for a while, your work here is impressive. There are some shortcomings in the mix and the instrument samples, but that's small potatoes compared to the big picture (OST?). I hope you feel proud of your accomplishment with Four Winds.
Good work man, The Fountain gave me Final Fantasy 9 vibes.
Hey these are good ideas ! And if it's your first time making orchestral, plus you didn't made music that much it's really cool :D
I may have liked a bit more layers. Rythmic or melodic either, it could help you flourish your ideas and bring more life into it :)
The town theme feel like being determined going on an adventure, it could have been longer :P
I really liked the Foutain theme, very calming with a sweet melody. This one could be embellished a lot with time :D
Congratulations and keep guinguette on making music !!
Ps: the titles and instruments let see the zelda inspiration ;) i like it!
Haha, thank you! I would also have liked more layers but sadly I was running up against the deadline and didn't really have time to refine things. I definitely would like to keep working on them though to try to get them up to their potential.
Funnily enough, my primary inspiration was Final Fantasy, rather than Zelda. But since others have remarked on the Zelda similarities as well, I suppose there must be something there!
I love the flute that is used in both tracks especially in the fountain.
Also it reminds me of The Legend of Zelda : The Wind Waker in a way.
