Hey, really cool idea, but I found it a little hard to see the health and water bar.

Ah, I never commented, this is one of my favorites of the jam. I love the idea of cleaning the floor and killing enemies! One thing that bugged me was I was trying to clean everything (OCD) and if I got near the exit, it made me exit, I'd rather have a 'hold button to exit when on the hole' kind of situation so I can clean everything, and reward people who clean it completely somehow. Great work!

You did leave a comment! The jam submission and game pages have their own comment sections. Thanks for the extra comment though.
I was toying around with the idea of rewarding clearing out all the goo, however there is a bug that occasionally hides goo under the walls, related to the slimes getting out of bounds. I can only imagine the rage it would cause to get 99.99% of all the goo and not be able to find the last piece. Either way I ran out of time, but I will definitely want to add this

Nice game! I'm impressed by the slime AI. Just curious, what kind of algorithm are you using for the world gen?

Thanks a bunch! It's a combination of something I came up with myself, and a couple of ideas I read about that was used by the dev of Tiny Keep. I go into it a bit in the design doc, but I'm gonna do a more in depth write up about it soon, and probably put it here on itch as a devlog entry. I'll get back to you on it soon.

Thanks a bunch, i'll read up on it.

Edit:
Very interesting, I think I will try some procedural generation stuff in Godot now too. Thank you for the thorough walkthrough.

Impressed with you building a procedural level generation for a game jam. Good luck!

Developer

Thank! I adore procedural generation.

This was fun. It had tight controls and the UI accurately presented what was needed to play. The generative levels adds a lot of replicability.  Good work!

Developer

Thank you for playing!

This is a good game! Fighting with the goo is satisfying and the art is very cute, it's the type of game you feel comfortable playing

In my opinion, visual feedback would make the game feel even better, like screenshake and other cool effects. Sometimes I couldn't tell if I hit an enemy correctly or I couldn't understand how was my HP, so I think making it visually better would be great.

Congratulations on finishing the game, great work!

Thanks so much for the feedback about the feedback.

Awesome game. I really liked using the water sprayer. Very satifying washing away the goo! :D

Super Mario Sunshine and Power Washing Simulator were huge inspirations. It's a part of the game that will be receiving a lot of attention in the future, really try to squeeze as much satisfaction out of it as possible.

Good, simple and fun. there was a decent amount of polish, loved the player facing the aim point. Great entry for the jam.

Developer

Thanks so much!

So, if Mario Sunshine was a dungeon crawler? It's a pretty good concept.

Developer

Absolutely what I was going for.

Love this. Going for procedural generation in a game jam was ambitious as hell but you pulled it off. I played for a good 10 minutes and never ran into any problems with the map. Game play is satisfying. Difficult but satisfying. Art is excellent for a 2 week jam as well. Great work!

Thanks for playing and the kind words.  I was worried about it being too easy, so I made the things hurt more, but I should have done more playtesting because it really ramps up as more dudes show up.

There is every chance that the difficulty for me was skill issue more than the game being too difficult lol
