  • Thank you for joining the game jam! GDD is clearly presented. Gameplay is very polished. This is one of my favourites :) Suggestion: Put the controls (particularly the WASD controls) on screen in the early game to hint to the player to try using those keys? :) Another note: Some of the trees seemed to be doubled up (two cards on top of one another). It was unclear if that is intentional.
  • Really liked the concept, wish there was more alchemy cards. This was a blast to explore and hope to see more of it! Exploring and finding all the little snippets really made me explore every corner and edge of the map.

"oh no, another card game, I will not like this" was my initial thought. But wow, what a creative concept! I loved the humor and "lively" feeling of the objects although they're just cards. Some areas felt a bit empty though and could have had more of these little things to explore. Also a good opportunity for more little secrets or easter eggs like the black cat. Funny game and also totally sane! :)

Flipping the cards, unlocking more of the story, and finding some easter eggs was very satisfying. The game flow feels perfect. Well done:)

This was great! I like the absurdity of the entire world being made of cards. I also chuckled at the many gags found in this game.

What a clever game! Wonderful pixel art and sound design brings so much soul and charm. I love the little surprises and jokes. Great job 🌞

This is very creative! And extremely polished as well! Loads of details, jokes, the design feels very unique! I am getting the vibe of Stacking here and I love it very much! The only thing I can criticize really is the lack of background, that make the world a bit empty sometimes, but I guess all card there can really let you imagine the world without even showing them.

Anyway, good job!!!!

At first I simply found this game cute and fun, but it had great surprises just around the corners!

The art works really well, especially when in a card game we expect seeing familiar cards, and I that that's what shapes the environment is built. The colors also create a sense of priority of what to look for or interact with, which is cool and fits really well.

The mechanics are really simple but well executed (I love that the little jiggle when walking affects the collision of the player!), although sometimes I felt like I couldn't flip a card I thought I should be able to. If there is a range mechanic, I feel like it's not explicit enough - or maybe I was just missing the cards with my click and didn't notice, lol

As for the main quest, it felt a little all over the place. The game makes a great job at explaining what you need to do at the start - from the beginning I knew it was about looking for a dog or something related -, but I don't feel like it really follows it throughout the gameplay. Having a lot of the interactions to be, even if fun and unexpected, just silly in nature, mislead me to think that all interactions would be just that, which made me stop playing the first time. I even mist a key item while running around just clicking to see what would happen, as I thought that's all the game had to offer. Don't get me wrong, all the silly interactions are great and made me happily chuckle.

Another thing is that, in my first playthrough I thought the black ground was a wall and never really got close to it, and just in my second I realized it could be some kind of guiding line. The scene (the background, the walls) doesn't seem to fit that well with the aesthetic the cards are going for. Maybe a result of the time available, but that may be something to look for in the future, as the art is already good as is.

Finally, after all, it is a great and appealing game worth playing :D

Ok so I really love the presentation, but I don't understand what the goal of the player is. It's very unclear and not really stated what the player needs to do. This of course makes the player go wander around trying to find stuff, so that's what I did too. I found another item, so I took it back to the house. Then I proceeded to go around the whole map 3 more times and haven't found a new item, or anything new. Not sure if this is due to a bug or because I was missing something important.
I still had fun and a few laughs looking around, but after the 3rd circle around the town I decided to quit.

Original and clever mechanics and game design. The music/effects/art suit the game so well, great job with that. I always love a game that can balance a mix of cute and weird.

An epic and wholesome tale of a man on a quest to find his lost dog. Told in a very unique way, with cards!

*** Warning Spoilers! Continue at your own risk. I recommend you play the game for yourself ***

Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this game, Ooh card flipping... Ooh the cards are items... Ooh the cards are EVERYTHING. OOH Dinosaurs... ooh cultists...? Ooh... corpse?

The game sucks you in with such a novel and cute aesthetic and over time as your character visibly descends into madness you also began to unravel the truth of the world.

I absolutely loved the exploration and card flipping. Building the world as you traveled and giving context to cards with other cards nearby helped build a visual in my head of the area i was in. The people and the animals reacting was so cool. And the game communicated the goal very clearly with just some purple cards and empty boxes. Very well designed.

I did get lost when I was supposed to find the bread. I didn't realise the naked showering guy in the park dropped it. But once I got it there was no other real issues. And when you scare the birds away and all the cards fly away I instantly knew I was playing something unique that was made with love.

Artistically the world is very barren which is exactly what gives the cards and their context meaning. Flipping over a bunch of buildings turns that barren landscape into a street. Flip over a bunch of trees and you're in a forest. You don't need to know more than that and it all makes perfect sense. The characters face changing throughout the game was great and reminded me a lot of Disco Elysium and the mirror.

The audio was fine for the most part the cards having appropriate sounds was great and gave some nice character to the world. The greatest part about the audio though was when the music stopped and things got serious.

I would say the one thing I really didn't like was the "Dave" reveal. It just kinda felt a bit "eh" with me. Other than that I loved everything else about the game.

Is there more to discover with the black cards or is it just some cool little "somethings not right" points to put the player on edge? I would love to know if there's more to the game that I missed or not.

If there's plans to develop this further I'd love to see it. But to be honest it feels like a pretty complete and well told story. It would be hard to imagine a bigger game and world created this way, but I'd love to see it.

Unique, quirky, and fun! I really enjoyed playing this game, the art is simple but consistent and plays to the unassuming but sinister tone of the game. It feels satisfying to move around and flip the cards, and there's always something new around the corner to discover so there's rarely any dull time. I think the overall game was a good length as well. Kudos to the team!
