  • Very good GDD, I loved seeing the whole design process. Very cool! The ideas and foundations link very nicely to the game jam, and the underlying themes are mysterious & magical with an awesome soundtrack! Thoroughly enjoyed my little play through. Feedback: Implement a training section to the functionality behind the game. (How you move, what the lanterns do, how you get the different jumps to show etc) Add item descriptions to the items in crafting window and inventory The rest of the game is nicely laid out and thought out, please keep going with this. I would be very interested to see how you implement new items and upgrades to the movement and alchemy :)
  • This entry is fantastic in my opinion, an excellent example of what you could do with a fuller length title. The only real recommendation i could give is -more-, the light mechanics is awesome and i like crafting the power ups. Could be evolved in a few ways like choosing which power up to make first, or more mechanics with the lamp. Good working document in the GDD. the alchemy part of the theme could be a SMIDGE more prominent, but otherwise excellent!
  • Interesting game mechanic with the light. I enjoy the game!

Wow, this is fantastic! The character controls perfectly. The lantern mechanic is simple, but you've designed a lot of clever rooms around it. Well done!

Pretty good game, that's all i'll say :3

You've created such a beautiful game in 2 weeks! Love the animal well vibes :)

Platforming felt great, and the polish was superb. Love the little main character dude and the animations!

Really good game, it reminds me of Celeste!

STUNNING GAMEPLAY FEEL! Smooth and well-balanced. I got stuck tho, and did not know how to get out of a hole.

Yo! This game is fun!!! I'm was playing on keyboard until I got to some of hte end game levels with the double dragons and could not proceed until I hooked up a controller.

The game is beautiful. The music is very fitting. There could be more polish on the areas with the shadow dragon head as far as the music goes. I could see the music changing pitch down when the lantern is off to make the looming threat seem more scary. :D But that's not a slight against the team for the game jam. You have a solid game. (I wrote this bit before I saw the double dragons, so maybe change pitches for each? idk, may not work)

I enjoyed adventuring through the levels. The path to get to the feather was a challenge I really enjoyed! I died so many times in the later levels, but that's a skill issue on my part. But starting over at the start of the area, which made it feel fun and not tedious. Casual adventure puzzle platformer comes to mind. This could be changed if you wanted to have a game mode that was more challenging by reseting back to a save point. :)

I actually enjoyed the lack of enemies in early levels. It made it feel like a puzzle platformer and nothing like a hack & slash adventure. I would buy this game.

Add a bit of story to it, add more levels, and some NPCs  to help along the way and build the lore of the world, a reason to get the potions made to continue adventuring instead of simply finding ingredients. Simply finding ingredients too is also good.

Very cute game, very enjoyable! I hope to see it on steam!

This is an impressive submission, in terms of gameplay, mechanics, visuals and sound. I was a little underwhelmed until I got to the crafting table/map area. And then I got to craft the spiderlegs potion and things took an unexpected turn (for the better!). Good job!

It's fantastic! Good implementation of themes, especially the shadows. I like this concept you made. But it's so polished and beautiful one! Looks like the released version of small but well done game!

The animations is funny and nice for the character as his SFX. The graphics are pleasing as the sounds and music, I like it. The level design is especially nice with the game mechanics you created.

10/10. It deserves a high place in the popular list :)

This is amazing. Amazing art style and you REALLY captured the gameplay of a Metroidvania

Well done! This has some good polish to it. Fits the theme quite well and delivers satisfying gameplay.

Pros:
Art style, platform transitions are clean, lantern-enemy mechanic is interesting.

Cons:
Platforming is a little tight in some sections, got stuck after missing a jump for an item (30-07-2024).

What a great job getting it so polished in the short time of the jam! As a fellow platformer creator for the Jam I'm in awe, look forward to seeing how the judging goes!

Magnificent game. I would like to play a full release of this.
