  • Very pretty game! I enjoyed the gameplay and the music is really nice, along with the very pretty art. The concept looks good, you've managed to make a solid game here. I didn't find any bugs and had fun playing it. Beautiful and fun game, well done!
  • I would have like to see the alchemy incorporated a bit better, but man that art is beautiful!
  • For my personal experience with this game, I didn't find a lot of what was presented to be that compelling; from the combat to the implementation of the themes. In regards to the themes, having a limited light source and taking on shadow-based enemies doesn't feel that unique to me. And, while I understand through your design document how you interpreted and used alchemy, as it ties back into the combat with effects that help fend off enemies, again, this didn't really catch me as something I'd enjoy playing a whole lot of. Artistically speaking, I believe you did quite a good job, including the music (though a tad loud; would appreciate something to adjust audio setting). Lastly, while I wouldn't say you did anything 'wrong' with the way you presented and incorporated these aspects into your game--my interpretation of what I experienced feels like there's more to be desired, in a sense. All the same, do keep up the hard work.

Bastion of Light is an arcade-style shoot’em up where the player must defend a tower of light against waves of hostile creatures trying to snuff it out. Use the Light Energy that powers your Bastion to drive back the shadows, and infuse the mystical Relics with Energy to join their powers with your own.

But be careful, for that same Light Energy also sustains the shield keeping you alive! Try to balance offense with caution as you fight to survive until the onslaught ends.

Gorgeous art and effects, I'm really glad it caught my eye and I got to play this. It reminds me of Dome Keeper, I love it!  Great job!

Thanks for the comment, I also liked the game you submitted. Dome Keeper and Wall World were part of my inspirational references when I made the art  :)

I've never heard of Wall World, I'll have to look into it!

The art and music are excellent! The game gets tough quick, but handles it well!

The music is really great. The gameplay is fun and starts to become challenging within a few minutes. I enjoyed this quite a bit. Well done!

Game was difficult but was very enjoyable.  I think it hit that sweet spot.

The longest I survived was 3 mins.

Art style felt like I was in a vvincent van gogh painting.

nice man, niceeeee! :)

If the game goes for 5 min, I almost beat it!

The art is really good, the increasing difficulty is well balanced and the music fits all of it nicely. In my first attempt, I survived for less than a minute, and for the second one, I got 4:45 min.

If you add some sound effects, it will enhance the experience much more. This is one of the best entries I played. Nice job!

Developer

You got so close! Thank you for playing! Glad you like it. Yeah, with 30 more min we could've implemented all sfx to make it better

I survived for 3 minutes, and i really liked this game! First of all the artwork and the music are amazing, they are really good at selling the game's atmosphere. It's also nice to see light effects of bullets in the far shadows. Powerups are a nice addition to the simple gameplay as well. Overall game is really good at expressing it's atmosphere and every element of the game complements each other, great work!

I survived over 2 minutes! Fun game, I really like the powerups idea.
Also, the music SLAPS MAN. When it music opens up you really feel like you're the last flicker of hope in a world consumed. Makes losing feel more consequential. Good Job!
