An intriguing game right to the end! I just had trouble picking up the key at the beginning.

It seems like a cool game!

Although It seems I got stuck because I was unable to get anything to change (I examined everything!) maybe I'm just silly cause it seems it's working for others. Also, the silence is killing me (In a good way)

Examining things is not the only way to unlock the path. Thank you for playing!

Cool game and you can see the P.T. resemblance. It was a little bit confusing sometimes when the next door triggers but overall i enjoyed it

Developer

P.T. is a Lot more confusing! :-) thank you for playing!

Really like the concept behind this game. The way you have to keep going in circles to advance. Also, with the expanding reticle it's almost as if things change because you pay more attention to them, which is an interesting idea. I did get stuck at one point and found myself wishing for slightly more obvious markers of what had changed and where to go next, since there is such a limited space to explore. But the sound design gave me a legit jump scare at one point. Cool game!

Thanks for playing! I will implement feedback when something changes.

I like the game. My only real critique is that it took me a while to understand I had to hold space until the recticle picked up the key at the start. I saw the key but thought I'd have to walk over and press a button on top of it to collect it. But once I figured out how the mechanic worked I was away! Great work

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback. I've locked the player in the cell so that he will only move forward when he understands how it works :-)

Submitted(+1)

Can see the logic there haha. As you say I did work it out in the end!

Simple gameplay, but creepy thanks to the sound design and the feeling of being locked up! It was interesting, although sometimes it was not too clear what to do and there was a feeling that you were stuck forever
Anyway, I've got fun :D Good job!

Developer

Never say never, there's always a way out! thanks for playing

I liked the slight changes in the environment, squeaking sound. But to be honest I was lost walking several time inspecting each single feature. I thought the laugh was mocking at me wandering in the floors completely lost haha

Developer(+1)

That ghost is a great scoffer! And you're a great explorer! Thank you for playing

The environment changing as you progress is a super interesting mechanic. I definitely jumped a few times!

Developer

LOL Welcome to Spooky Jam! >< Thank you for playing!

I like the art style a lot, and that painting sound effect scared me too lol. I got a bit lost in the beginning but eventually found my way around. I'd say some background ambience would definitely add to the atmosphere. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks for rating! I'll definitely polish and enlarge the game!

Some of the puzzles took me a long time to solve, like the part where you had to examine a painting to progress to the next part of the game (and examining plays the door squeaking sound over and over), and the part where you had to examine a painting with a blue X on it. But other than that, the game is fine. The evil laugh sound was kinda funny, though.

Developer

You managed to do the parts that I find most difficult! congratulations! Thanks for playing!

Wahahahaha!
Very nice game! Very spooky! The stairs animation is awesome hahaha!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I haven't really been able to polish the animations anymore, but it's planned to be done!

Submitted(+1)

It's pretty well made! Though I never knew when or what triggered the puzzle to go on. Good job on this one.

Very cool 2D take on the core gameplay loop behind P.T., I'm definitely here for it! The examine feature is interesting, and if the controls were tightened a bit, I could see myself playing a full feature game where very slowly but surely you unlock new floors as you try to escape! The SFX was also very well done. Great addition to the scream jam!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! My plan is to polish the entire game down to part of the story shown in JAM and later add other chapters of the reference game (P.T.).

I like this examine mechanics.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

It was difficult at start, we were stuck several times. But once we understood the pattern : each time find a differing detail, and then go through the door at the top center, it became easier.

Developer(+1)

Nice you got It! Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Good job, I like the examine feature :)
