Cool music and good use of the lights! Good to see another Godot fella! ^^ Seems like you did it all by yourself so congrats!
Also how did you setup your light, did you use a DirectionalLight at all? Or only a CanvasModulate? Both?
Thank you very! I only used PointLight2D with my own - drawn - light asset and CanvasModulate for darking the scene. If you would, we can talk about it in PM here (if we can) or on Discord. Nice to meet you, Godot fella 👊
I'm not aware of a DM system on Itch. I see your setup looks similar to mine then! All hail the Godoteers!
Another lighthouse gamedev. :) I like the atmosphere. It could have been less keys and maybe some other mechanic. But nevertheless a solid entry!
Yeah, you are absolutely right. I just didn't have more time to implement any other mechanics, but I will after voting session. Thanks the kind words, and yes, only lighthouses B)
Loved the estetics!
Thanks!
Can you please try mine?
Of course I will!
I didn't get much ratings which is making me kind of sad :( Would love to get some feedback from you. Sorry for asking such a thing but you know.
Completely understand, after work I will check it out and try to give you a deeper feedback. Jams are for improvement, wich is hard without feedbacks. Maybe next time try to build your game for browser too, it will recieve much more reviews.
The soundtrack is fantastic and really adds to the eerie feel the entire experience gives off! I also particularly liked the first time that you see the specter on the other side of the window, it really builds tension before stepping into the lighthouse and wondering what are you about to encounter. I think a nice little addition would be to have a counter of how many keys you have or when you used a key to open the door to give off a better sense of progression, especially on the first floor where backtracking is a bit more prevalent. Great entry overall!
Yeah, thanks for the constructive critic, I can absolutely agree with that. Sadly I didn't have more time to make the mechanics more explicit or trackable.
But I'm glad you liked my sumbission overall, thanks!
Really good! I like pixel art style and noir style horror mystery hits the spot. Very cool idea
Thank you for your feedback, glad to hear you liked it.
Awesome, I really liked the lighting effects and the limited field of vision. The atmosphere is top-notch!
Ah nice, thank you, means a lot!
Really cool game concept and art style. I wish the camera could be a little bit higher and the flickering light was hard on my poor old eyes, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and exploration. Great work!
Thank you, I will finetune it after voting session!
Really like the pixel art and how you can show so much with so few pixels :) Torch light gave a good eerie vibe and the music 100% helped with that.
Ah thank you for the kind words, really apretiate that. Maybe I spent a bit too much time with drawing also. O_o
Nice concept! The flickering of the flashlight was a little hard on my eyes, but I'm guessing that was intentional for atmosphere. I like some of the ideas here though!
Thanks! Yeah, it was intentional, but maybe it was a bit too much.
I loved the way the flashlight worked! How it you could shine it through windows and stuff was great. All in all, I would say this game had a great atmosphere!
I'm glad you liked it, thank you!
I like the swaying movement, Nice job! :)
Hehe, thank you!
I love the flashlight mechanic, really cool when it goes across a corner and realistically lights the area, I also like the cursor capture you did to change it into a white dot to match the aesthetic. small details like that are great
Thank you, good catch with the cursor, I apretiate that!
Really cool concept, Really fun way to use a light mechanic.
Thanks!
Nice music but felt lacking in other sounds. I recognize your ambitions but the mechanics flustered me and unfortunately the light flicker gave me a bit of a headache due to its frequency and intensity, and I could only play for a few minutes before it was too much.
Thank you, I created some sound effects, will update after voting session. Sadly the light flicker is intentional, so it's annoying on purpose - maybe it is too much, you are right.
I like the atmosphere of the game! and the sound is great too
Thank you for your feedback!
I love the pixel art aesthetic and the moody music! I made it into the lighthouse and unlocked a bunch of rooms, but I didn't have a great idea of what my goals were. I'd recommend adding some more player feedback and signposting to help communicate where the player should go and motivate them to keep exploring. But this is a nice start, good work!
Nice artwork and clear gameplay, didn't feel completely lost, would have liked the music to persist between levels though
Fun game, the art is nice and I really like the story. I do think that the flash light should allow the player to see more, escpecialy indoors. But It was still really fun.
Cool game. Keep it up♥
Great game! Immersive from beggining to end, specially like the lighting on this one.
Really great mood with your games, it was fun (and scary) to explore the light house
