Fair enough lol, I see that. I'll see to fleshing that mechanic out more.

Hey 136166, thanks for your feedback!

Is there something in particular relating to the squad mechanic you feel is missing, or just that more should be done with it as a whole?

Please Leave All Demo Feedback in this Topic

Task Force is a tactical, squad-based shooter. You must command your soldiers and fight alongside them to achieve victory over the alien forces.

- Real time commands: command your AI comrades in real-time during firefights, recon runs, and more

- Methodical firefights: don't just rush into enemy fire. Wait, listen, maneuver

- A worthy foe: The alien forces are an organized military force, not a mindless horde. Your task is not to be taken lightly.

Shoot, I just saw this after the voting period, sorry about that. Thanks for your comment though, I'll play your game anyways!

Thank you very much for your feedback! I appreciate it!

I like the concept, it's unique and I haven't seen much like it, especially the cardboard art-style. The title menu is a bit too small (idk if that's just due to my screen or not), but everything else is solid, nice job!

Nice, I'm glad that final level felt rewarding and challenging enough!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

I liked the stealthy vibe it had, and the inspiration from Ratatouille. Some indicator of when the chef would show up could improve this game, as well as making the platforms more distinct from the background. I thought this was a unique idea, great work!

The movement feels smooth and responsive, I enjoyed it! I actually ran into a bug on the "platforms jump when you jump" level where it didn't respawn me when I fell, but I understand that it's hard to debug and test everything in 48 hours (not to mention, my game has the same bug on one level lol). Overall, I liked this game, good job!

I found this game to be pretty fun, I even played to the end. Some improvements I'd suggest are to make the movement less slippery, and give the player more vision (since you are the monster itself, it'd make sense to have more power). It was also a bit difficult to gauge my weapon's distance, but it worked fine. Great work!

I really enjoyed this, it had a deeper strategy element than classic tower defense games. I think having multiple levels, more tower, and/or the ability to control when and where they shoot could take this game to the next level (just some ideas). Overall, great job!

I liked the flappy bird -like mechanics, not so much the memorization, but that's just personal preference. I liked the music though, and it's impressive that you made it yourself as  most people aren't able to, good job!

Ah yes, I know that feeling lol :)

I really liked this game and played it till the end. Like someone mentioned before, I believe that using Mark Brown's likeness in a game was against the rules, but that won't affect my rating. Overall great job!

Wow, can't believe I found a Scratch game here! This is a really well made game. The animations are superb. I wish that there was perhaps a little more challenge, maybe multiple players you needed to help, but I get that there was of course a time limit. It looks great, good job!

I really enjoyed this game! I loved the fast paced, almost puzzling action. Great job!

I had lots of fun with this game! The concept is unique, and executed wonderfully. The boss fight especially gives me SNES game vibes. Great job!

This was a good game, I would've perhaps liked for the camera to be fully bird's eye to see the entire level better (the walls sometimes blocked the arrows), but the concept was fun. I reminded me of those coding robots in elementary :)

I really liked this game, it was pretty fun even with such basic mechanics, good job!

Good concept, but it just feels slightly unfinished. It's hard to tell when you're going inside a house, running into a wall, etc. That being said, this definitely has potential with more mechanics, and it was pretty fun as it is, good work!

I love the idea, it's very unique. The game could definitely be expanded, and maybe changed so you "elementalize" the whole platform instead of just a block? Idk, these are just some ideas for improvements, overall good job though!

This has potential, but there's unfortunately not much I can say with just one level, sorry.

I like the idea, but the game starts with the character dropping almost instantly, making it extremely difficult to play past the first couple of seconds. I think slowing the character down would've helped.

I liked this game, it has a relaxing vibe to it. Watching the vegetation disappear was pretty satisfying. I think that the game could have had more challenge, but I think it's fine as it stands. Good job!

I think this is a very unique twist on the "move the level" idea. It was a tad bit difficult, but not impossibly hard. Overall though, I enjoyed playing this game, great work!

The concept is great, and I feel like more could definitely be done with it. The controls are a bit slow, but the projectiles and traps aren't super fast, so it isn't impossible to dodge them (though a little more difficulty could've improved it). Great work overall, I'd be interested to see a more fleshed out version of this concept after the jam!

I liked the unique art style and overall atmosphere, but the camera and controls overall are a bit funky. Good job though!

This was a great idea. I liked the pixel animations, and the fact that you had to reveal your objective. I thought that was pretty neat!  I think that the controls could've been easier to use, but they worked fine. The only issue I had with the game is that I got trapped in a corner of the level by the guards and couldn't do anything, but that's probably it. Otherwise, good job!

I loved this! You captured the aesthetic of the pizzeria really well, as well as the feeling of controlling an animatronic. I would be interested in seeing this more fleshed out with more animatronics, etc, after the jam. Great job!

I really liked the unique aesthetic of a rodeo-style tank game! The controls could be made a bit easier to use, but the game is pretty fun and has potential for a post-jam version. Good job!

I really liked the take on the theme, definitely one of the more unique games I've seen! The gameplay does get a bit slow after a while, but everything is nicely polished. Great job!

This is a really fun game! I liked the difficulty curve with the new types of enemies appearing, and the whole concept is pretty neat. Good job!

The game itself was pretty fun, I liked the flipping of the screen to symbolize the switch between attacking/defending. I feel like there could've been more of a difference between attacking and defending though, as there isn't much change besides the visuals right now. However, it's still a fun game, and is very well polished, good job!

I liked the presentation and art direction, they were great. I think that perhaps some indication of the "customers" patience levels would've been nice, and as others have said, the gameplay is a bit repetitive. However, the game has potential, and I could see it being fleshed out a bit more. Good job!

I liked how there was an actual strategy involved when making decisions for which troop to spawn. I think having a couple more troops and towers could've helped, but I totally get the time crunch. I also think that having a different camera angle to properly see the whole area would've been an improvement. Overall good game though!

I really liked the unique idea! It was a bit difficult to keep up with feeding the content when, music for example, doesn't appear but you need it. However, I played it a few times and thought it was pretty fun, great job!

Hey everyone!

I am proud to announce that I have just released the first build of a project I have been working on for about a year now, currently named "Task Force". This is a FPS game with RTS elements to recreate the feeling of commanding an army, but with your own boots on the ground! The as of now, the game follows you as you lead troops to push back the alien hordes of the enigmatic antagonist, The Fifth Baron. Your orders are to push the enemies back and reclaim the fortress situated on Line 3750. More details will be revealed as the project nears completion and, of course, experience the whole story for yourself when you play the game!

I also highly encourage you to click the "How to Play" button when first opening the game, as the controls for such a system are, of course, a bit complex, but I've tried my best to make them as responsive and easy to use as possible.

Please note that as this project is still in the early stages of development, there may be bugs in the demo, so please report them in the comments of the page. I will do my best to fix them for the next demo!

Known Bugs:

- Aliens may get stuck on checkpoint walls

- Your soldiers may get stuck behind one another
