Nice one! Good sounds and graphics, and really tied on the theme!
I also agree with some comments to pause the game while choosing the upgrades and a more feedback when getting hit.
Yes, it's true, unfortunately I didn't have any more free time to finish the game I had in mind, but I put a lot of effort and heart into what I did.
For me, participating in game jams is really worth it because of the experience and it's a good way of learning. This is my goal and I hope to continue being able to participate and learn more and more about Godot and creating games.
It's not about win or lose, but learning in the journey. Even a demonstration published is important to me to getting confidence and keep the dream alive.
Thank you!
Interesting one! I liked the originality, but I confess that I don't know how to play properly... hahaha
In first level I beat the dev's best time by 1s without doing anything logical (I was trying to understand the game yet). Finally on level 2, the things got clearer and I got my best time (28 seconds at total). On the next levels the caos reign and it's funny, although even doing "random" stuff, you can beat the score and thinking "How I beat this level? What did I do?"... hahaha
Hahahhahahah, I really liked the "game over" scene!
The dark atmosphere works even with simple art. I felt like there was a lack of a button to run, as the general movement is a bit slow. And when the flashlight runs out, being able to run from the monster could add a little action and desperation for the hope that you might be able to escape...
Good prototype! Sadly there is no sounds and the game is not more complete to be more enjoyable.
There are some funny bugs, like freezing out and still can create a campfire and warm up again (but not revive) or still chop trees and break rocks even far away from them... hahaha
I'm sure with little more time this game will become fun to play!
Good game! I liked the graphics and it's fun to play! But I think it's more hard than should be. The delay of the weapon and quantity of hits to kill the enemies at first levels it's a bit frustrating...
Sometimes on later levels, a group of 3 or 5 enemies spawn exactly where the player is, applying some unfair damage. I played a lot of times to finally win the game, feeling that at this run, the game randomness was on my side (there are some "trash" upgrade cards and some very necessary and powered cards). Also, I feel the only way to beat the game is attacking a group of enemies at same time, otherwise, there is no time to beat the enemies and collect wood and food before frost.
Anyway, nice entry! =)
Absolutely amazing entry for a game jam! I just can see it right now on the Steam or Nintendo Switch E-Shop.... haha
Very polished, the art, the sounds, the voice, the aesthetics... also the game is very fun. Despite having difficulty with the roll mechanic, I insisted on reaching the end, even though I was captured several times. Sadly, only when I replayed to see something I noticed that we can stop the roll just pressing the "X" button! Oh, how I wish to know this before... haha
Really nice job! Congratulations to everyone made this game!
The music and graphics are amazing! I liked the atmosphere and the crt shader to simulate the baby cam view. The controls are a bit confusing, I don't understand how to jump, even pressing the "space", seems it work at random. I tried the Web and Linux versions, but I can't jump properly in both. A curious fact is that I also used a laser pointer to control the cat in my game, although the controls and purposes are a little different... :-)
The game is really difficult to hit the keys and avoid the fast baby all the time, but I liked this entry! Really nice job and concept!
Amazing job! The atmosphere is creepy and the music fits perfectly to this.
But I almost gave up in the first quest. Was so hard to find the first monster, the map is big and I walked almost every single corner and nothing to see. Luckily I went to the comments, saw @Jupiter_Hadley's gameplay post, and watched to see if I was doing something wrong. There I clearly saw the monster, although she did not see it, and I decided to walk further, already knowing what to look for.
Glad I tried again, because it gets easier afterwards (I already know the whole map) and the ending is really good, the flame walls were an amazing touch!
Thanks! Absolutely! I've planned some combinations to be the key to get some special candies, while the most weird combinations only gives funny comments and no candies.
I'm thinking of creating a separate, more complete new version after the voting period. But leaving this version fixed here as the final result of this game jam...
Yeah! Simple but really fun and the music and sfx it's really enjoyable and enhances the experience!
I don't know if I have some issue with my mouse, but sometimes the circle stops being printed like I lifted my finger of the button. Also, the score seems to be reset on next try, but as soon as we score more points, the previous score is increased back, as if it always be a long run...
Thanks! Yeah, this is a good suggestion. All houses were supposed to be interactable, but due to the time limit, I wasn't able to update the game with the content I had planned.
In fact, there were many more houses, characters and costumes (some are in the cover art, for example) already designed and planned, but my wife got sick the day before the deadline and I ended up having less time than expected to complete the game... but she is fine now. :-)
Try talking to the same houses with different costumes. The idea is that the normal sweets would be given to anyone at the door, but the special ones, only for those wearing their favorite costume.
Thank you! Well, as there is no specific order to get the candies, so I'm not sure which one you missed. If you're talking about the last one on the list ("hazelnut chocolate bar"), try talking to the houses with different costumes. Unfortunately due to the time limit, only 3 houses are active... :-(
Yes, you must try to get out of town to get what you need to get "Mint Candy".
I liked the story, dialogues and the progression of the game. The controls are simple, but effective and fun to play. I did not understand the mechanics of the monsters follow/unfollow you. Seems this changes nothing on gameplay, but it add a bug when trying to put all rubies on the flag. My first two attempts were frustrated by not being able to deliver the rubies, even pressing space on the flag. On third attempt, I do not clicked to crab follows me and then was succeced. At this point, I didn't even try the "follow button" with the other monsters...
Loved this game! The art, music, everything is great, and really fun to play. Amazing job!
Sadly, if we miss to serve one customer, the game don't finish the level. Also, if we fail completely the level (too many mistakes) and choose to "restart", the game freezes. It took me a while to realize that some orders had fries, because the design of the hamburger order is huge, while the fries appear small in the corner. As there are many points to quickly focus on, it took me a while to understand what was wrong with the order... haha
