Game Description
Minigame where you embody your inner child and play with some cute critters!
How does your game tie into the theme?
Some kids can do pretty bizarre things to bugs to entertain themselves. Makes you wonder what bugs think of them.

A cute fun game! I’m glad you don’t lose score when your line gets broken. Its tough drawing with a mouse around these guys and I play FPS shooters so my mouse coordination is pretty good, idk how people are getting higher scores than me haha. I got a 660 score.
What an interesting game! Sounds were really pleasing and the circle mechanic reminds me of Pokémon Ranger.
Keep making games!
Cool proof of concept. I found it a little repetitive for playing on pc, but it could be a nice game to whip out on mobile
This was a neat one, got me kind of focused actually, haha.
Seems like it was a interesting study of making your own lasso tool. Neat concept.
Was I right in reading some original I am Legend vibes where you turn out to be the monster?
This was fun and with a simple concept. I think I kept running into an issue when drawing, sometimes it just wouldn't.
Yeah same here
Neat start! I included it in my compilation video series for the Godot Wild Jam #56, if you’d like to check it out. :)
Yeah! Simple but really fun and the music and sfx it's really enjoyable and enhances the experience!
I don't know if I have some issue with my mouse, but sometimes the circle stops being printed like I lifted my finger of the button. Also, the score seems to be reset on next try, but as soon as we score more points, the previous score is increased back, as if it always be a long run...
Thanks for revealing this! I actually had no idea haha. I guess I wasn't paying too much attention to the score while play testing it myself 😂
I also didn't have the chance to thoroughly test with touchscreens, so I'm actually not sure if that's a bug... 🤔
Thanks for playing!
That was a cool idea, and a tough mechanic to try and implement for a game jam. It works really well and I'm very curious how you did it! I managed a score of 2560 just by drawing rapid circles around everything. Maybe something like an ink meter would be nice!
By the way I thought the staff was a snake at first which was a bit confusing :D
I had to look up some algorithms for the lasso mechanic to work, but it actually wasn't too complicated! I wasn't able to get the mechanic completely bug-free (sometimes it doesn't detect a closed shape), but it works more times than it doesn't 😂
If you're actually curious, a tl;dr is that I generated a Line2D based on the mouse position and then kept checking for a closed loop. Once a closed loop is detected, I used an algorithm to detect if any of the bug positions were within the loop (points in a polygon). I also had to manually check for bug-lasso collisions, because I couldn't figure out how to get Godot to abstract it away for me lol. It was pretty cool once I got it all working!
Thanks everyone for giving my game a try! :^)
This was actually so much fun! I get really tilted by that sound when my circle stops... but I loved this concept.
Hehehe 😈 I'm glad my game was tilt-worthy.
I like the bugs art and the music. I agree with catgutsnightmare; making it so that the bugs can only come so close to the edge or enable full screen mode. I didn't score so well since I'm on a trackpad, but it was still fun
Thanks for the feedback! Definitely a good call-out about the bugs being on the edge.
Pretty neat. I got up to 1500 pts, but that was by drawing circles around all of them over and over :)
Pretty cute and surprisingly challenging! Id have loved it they're was a bit of a barrier between the bugs and the game window since if they get too close to the edges it's pretty hard to draw circles around em, my personal best was 1650.
Great submission!
Thanks for the feedback! :^)
I do like a nice, straightforward, fun game. Great entry.
This gave me Pokémon Ranger hype!
Yes!!! The game mechanic was inspired by that gameplay :^)
Really fun idea! It has a really good loop of tempting you to getting ambitious with your circles, but then going to far. I had a lot of fun and several replays where I said “No, I can do better than that”
This was awesome! I like how much feedback there is on everything, it's really juicy.
Super cute. Fun t o play :)
