Man, an unwelcomed guest in my house is probably my biggest fear and this one did it pretty well for me. It was short but sweet and has that scratch game feel that I think deserves more love. Congrats on your first game!

(1 edit)

Came into it thinking "eh surely it won't be too scary" yea nah those lurkers kicked my a** lol. I liked the usage of the flashlight tying into the combat and though I found it kinda disappointing that a maze game had a map I grew to appreciate it as I played on. I liked this one, good job!

I thought the puzzles were quite nice and I really liked the aesthetic and saw vibes. The sound design for when you solve the puzzles is a nice addition too.

I don't know how that camera jumpscare got me... Man, just when I let my guard down lol. The choice at the end really felt like it mattered, and had me thinking for a bit. Good job with this one.

Although it was a bit confusing at times, I was able to churn through it in the end. Had a good spook factor which I didn't think would be that high for a 2D game but I was proven wrong. Good job on this one!

Wow... I booted up the game and was NOT expecting to love it that much. I even found myself combing through the game files to discover as much hidden underlying context as I could just incase I missed something. High marks all around! Also... Whaaat? The dates on all the files is a really nice touch that I was really impressed by.

Mighta missed a big One Piece level foreshadowing opportunity by not setting them to June 14/15  lol

That doll is such a bad influence... I enjoyed this game! The voice acting surprised me at first, I liked it! It added so much and made it such a different game than what it would have been without it. The audio coming through one ear as you listen to the doll also tied it together and gave it that nice touch. This was a good one

Thanks for playing! Happy you had fun.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Those are huge compliments to me. Glad you liked the ending as I didn't really think it was anything to write home about when making it, but we are our biggest critics i guess. Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed!

Sorry to hear that, I should really get looking for the cause of that bug. Really tried to present as much information as I could diegetically cuz I hate having UI that's not at least in the world space pop up, but still need to work on making the points of interest pop. Thanks for playing and I hope you were able to complete it in a different playthrough despite the bug.

I could tell you pulled all the stops to scare the player. That duck felt like my safe space after a while lol. The completion of bedtime rituals is a really creative twist to a nightmare and it did a good job keeping me engaged the whole time.

Thanks for the kind words! Definitely a good decision to put the hints page there lol. I noticed I'm definitely developing a style that I like more and more as I keep making games and I'm glad to hear it's a good one.

Glad you figured it out!  Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to add to the spook factor by playing on the feeling of not knowing what to do, hence throwing the player in there with little instruction, but sorta knew it could backfire so I added a hints section in the description. Still have to work on that aspect of the game lol. And thanks for the recognition of the credits! Been doing it like that for a while instead of something easier because I like it and I'm glad others do too.

Had fun with that one. The choice between the endings had me torn, but let's just say the town is saved. Had a nice amount of polish and the sound design was nice. An impressive project for 7 days! Somehow I called the ending idek how lol

Yea you know how finicky Characterbody3ds can be lol. Thanks for the sound design recognition as well, I really tried hard lol.

This game gave me mad Barbarian vibes. Loved the aesthetic and how the gameplay actually has some depth to it, if that makes sense.  First time I saw the monster i said "ah hell na get me outta here" out loud lol. At the 3rd door there was a collider somewhere causing issues. Couldn't get past it half the time and had to try again at a slightly different angle and location until I got past it. You guys did a good job on this one.

The aesthetics were my favorite part! You did a really good job capturing the psx style. The addition of a jitter shader would tie it up really nicely in my opinion. You guys put a good effort into sound design, and it paid off. It added to the spook factor of the game and helped it seem like I was really outside (wouldn't know much about that anyways lol)

Sorry to hear that! I've never come across that bug before but I suspect it has something to do with the flashlight not coming on. Could be related to double clicking the door or something. I hope you were able to complete the game in another playthrough despite the bug. And thanks for the kind words! Iron Lung was definitely an inspiration during the making of this.

Thanks for playing! I tried it out with tetris getting harder, but ultimately decided against it. Didn't want it to be TOO hard lol

Thanks for the kind words!

Definitely saw what you were going for with it! Makes me wonder about experimenting with lynchian horror myself one day

I loved how you could see the previous user's spiral into madness and presumably what caused it. It gives the game's universe a fleshed out feel. The assessment at the end got me very scared to keep going, and ive gotta say, it definitely got my heart pumping ngl! Mother of all viruses!

That guy came barreling down the hallway at me while i was trying to collect my first tape, got me good lol

Wow! Looks like you got the lose state and the win state at the same time... I'll look into that. Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!

Caught me way off guard despite reading the other comments prior to playing lol. 10/10

Thanks for playing!

Oh man this guy could NOT make up his mind! Had me switching channels left and right and spinning the heat dial like tracks in a DJ booth bruh. Loved the atmosphere, the sound design was really good too. Most of all I loved the aesthetics. overall a very fun game! that guy looked so cozy all snuggled up at the end too lol

Thanks man

Thanks for the kind words! Glad you had fun

I was so into it, got 53, and then got hit with a jumpscare. After a few deaths and not getting any that was the last thing i expected. The sound design is the game's strongest aspect in my opinion. I did need a couple seconds to collect myself after the jumpscare though lol

that boss can be a really mean guy if you start cussing at him... The don't look at the ceiling email got me too, ngl especially since the first thing i did was look at the ceiling and then see movement in my peripheral near the floor lol

OHHHH my goodness! As someone with like 150+ hours on Papers Please i LOVED this one. I thought the gameplay just worked, and the aesthetics were amazing.  Best game of the jam so far in my opinion. If this became a full game I would 1 million percent buy and know a lot of others who would too. Always nice to see another Godot dev :). I loved how fleshed out the universe of the game was and thought it was so cool! The chase sequence could have been a tad better, as it kinda just felt like a brisk stroll over to the panic button, but the sounds the monster made and looking behind me to see it did get me feeling spooked. This could be a banger markiplier video. 10/10

cant wait to see your prototypes once you guys do have coding experience! im being so fr rn, message me once this game is done i really wanna try it out!

hour backs r touching hehe?

glad you enjoyed it!

thx

Thanks for the kind words man! I wanted the game you have to juggle to be the most demanding yet simple game, but thought pong would be too evil lol.

I couldn't get past the hehe hint, but i had fun with it. The graphics are beautiful and i could tell they took a while to make. The sound design was good too, and it was always clear if dad was checking in or not which makes it on me whenever i failed. what i dont get, however, is why dad would run in on me whenever i checked my clues. I would get to the station that is presumably hehe and click everywhere. i checked the clues, cuz hey maybe i was wrong. insta gameover. i think i caught the underlying story with the man and the woman with the cigarette. (i could definitely kinda tell there was somethin going on at least, dont know what) and have to say, if thats on purpose (cuz i could just be looking for patterns that arent there) thats really clever.

Given a few QOL fixes this could make a banger markiplier video. I loved the aesthetics, particularly the outdoor level. I'm really impressed you managed to do all this in 7 days! Took me 5 just to make a guy walkin into your room while you play tetris...  This game had me replaying levels to see what I could've done differently, and i was having so much fun that i got disappointed when i realized there were only 2 tapes. You made the mannequin trope work very well too, even though I expected it to happen the moment I saw a mannequin fall, you still managed to scare me with it. gj
