GJ on the game! The keys could have stood out a little more and the lantern took up a lot of space on the screen. I enjoyed the spooky atmosphere and loved soaking it in!

I really liked those visuals, and was impressed with how long that buildup sfx was! gj 👍

I LOVE STEALTH HORRORI LOVE STEALTH HORRORI LOVE STEALTH HORRORI LOVE STEALTH HORRORI LOVE STEALTH HORROR

I enjoyed the stealth mechanic (😏) and the visuals. The sound design was also strong, but lacked in places such as the jumpscare. Good job on this game!

Thanks for playing! The issue with some of those collisions is on my radar, and a fix is coming soon. I'll be sure to check out the video.

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it. Definitely will swing by and watch the video!

Glad you were able to work it out! Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad I was able to evoke those feelings, as it was what I was going for.

Thanks for playing! Appreciate you taking the time to rate it.

I enjoyed this one a lot! I like the visual style and sound design. Sometimes the words were a bit hard to tell apart, but other than that it's a really cool mechanic that not many others have played around with. The game feels really fleshed out and immersive. The scare with that fella who kinda just stares at you got me GOOD. Definitely knew what's up after that. Very impressed with the game. Great job!

That took a lot of brainpower! I neglected the settings menu before playing and my PC almost suffered the same fate as that poor truck, but she pulled through! I got stuck a lot.. I mean A LOT! BUT I had patience and eventually found everything and got the ending. I enjoyed piecing together the story, and by the end I started to realize that the story elements were more spaced out and that running around until a sound queue caught my ear was the easiest approach. Good job on the visuals, this is a great game for 7 days!

By the ending I was feeling like a detective. I also enjoyed the settings app and sat around playing with that for a while. I was also way too addicted to the calculator game and sat playing it for a good 5 minutes lol. You never disappoint when it comes to story, and I enjoyed the little bits and pieces you gave us about Marcus.  The biggest problem I noticed was that you couldn't navigate past taken blocks on naughts and crosses, meaning if there was a solid wall across the board you actually couldn't access what's on the other side of it (if that makes sense). That's the biggest issue I could find, which is very impressive given we only had a week! I loved all the juice it had and I honestly forgot I was playing a game for a few moments as I started to explore the different files and apps. You've done a really good job using your themes, and have made a really good submission.

thank you

thanks for playing!

SO, what have I learned?

1. I should NOT-- under ANY circumstances-- be a doctor

2. Do NOT follow no red arrows

Nice job putting this together in a week! I enjoyed the sound design and the interaction system was neat too.

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! Tricky when making a game pertaining to current events, since you wanna be vague as you can yet also want the game to be a statement on it. I now realize that you don't need to be too specific, and making the game itself be as thought provoking as you can, letting the players draw their own conclusions, will be just as effective. When making the newspaper it just didn't sit right with me to keep it all in the Latin alphabet. Seemed boring, far from the topic, etc. Thank you for your kind words, and I'm glad that you enjoy the visuals and sounds, as I spend a long time getting them down!

That would be very silly indeed...

Thank you!

Thanks for your feedback! I always like to dedicate the last day of the jam to sound effects so that the soundscape is atmospheric and cohesive. Visuals are also a big part of my workflow. I appreciate you taking the time for the rating.

Thank you very much! The thought you put into all your feedback is amazing, and I appreciate the kind words! It's always great reading what you have to think about my work and taking lessons away from it. I'm excited to play your game!

Sorry you encountered that bug. I wish I knew what caused it. Thanks for playing and all the feedback!

Man, an unwelcomed guest in my house is probably my biggest fear and this one did it pretty well for me. It was short but sweet and has that scratch game feel that I think deserves more love. Congrats on your first game!

(1 edit)

Came into it thinking "eh surely it won't be too scary" yea nah those lurkers kicked my a** lol. I liked the usage of the flashlight tying into the combat and though I found it kinda disappointing that a maze game had a map I grew to appreciate it as I played on. I liked this one, good job!

I thought the puzzles were quite nice and I really liked the aesthetic and saw vibes. The sound design for when you solve the puzzles is a nice addition too.

I don't know how that camera jumpscare got me... Man, just when I let my guard down lol. The choice at the end really felt like it mattered, and had me thinking for a bit. Good job with this one.

Although it was a bit confusing at times, I was able to churn through it in the end. Had a good spook factor which I didn't think would be that high for a 2D game but I was proven wrong. Good job on this one!

Wow... I booted up the game and was NOT expecting to love it that much. I even found myself combing through the game files to discover as much hidden underlying context as I could just incase I missed something. High marks all around! Also... Whaaat? The dates on all the files is a really nice touch that I was really impressed by.

Mighta missed a big One Piece level foreshadowing opportunity by not setting them to June 14/15  lol

That doll is such a bad influence... I enjoyed this game! The voice acting surprised me at first, I liked it! It added so much and made it such a different game than what it would have been without it. The audio coming through one ear as you listen to the doll also tied it together and gave it that nice touch. This was a good one

Thanks for playing! Happy you had fun.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Those are huge compliments to me. Glad you liked the ending as I didn't really think it was anything to write home about when making it, but we are our biggest critics i guess. Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed!

Sorry to hear that, I should really get looking for the cause of that bug. Really tried to present as much information as I could diegetically cuz I hate having UI that's not at least in the world space pop up, but still need to work on making the points of interest pop. Thanks for playing and I hope you were able to complete it in a different playthrough despite the bug.

I could tell you pulled all the stops to scare the player. That duck felt like my safe space after a while lol. The completion of bedtime rituals is a really creative twist to a nightmare and it did a good job keeping me engaged the whole time.

Thanks for the kind words! Definitely a good decision to put the hints page there lol. I noticed I'm definitely developing a style that I like more and more as I keep making games and I'm glad to hear it's a good one.

Glad you figured it out!  Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to add to the spook factor by playing on the feeling of not knowing what to do, hence throwing the player in there with little instruction, but sorta knew it could backfire so I added a hints section in the description. Still have to work on that aspect of the game lol. And thanks for the recognition of the credits! Been doing it like that for a while instead of something easier because I like it and I'm glad others do too.

Had fun with that one. The choice between the endings had me torn, but let's just say the town is saved. Had a nice amount of polish and the sound design was nice. An impressive project for 7 days! Somehow I called the ending idek how lol

Yea you know how finicky Characterbody3ds can be lol. Thanks for the sound design recognition as well, I really tried hard lol.

This game gave me mad Barbarian vibes. Loved the aesthetic and how the gameplay actually has some depth to it, if that makes sense.  First time I saw the monster i said "ah hell na get me outta here" out loud lol. At the 3rd door there was a collider somewhere causing issues. Couldn't get past it half the time and had to try again at a slightly different angle and location until I got past it. You guys did a good job on this one.

The aesthetics were my favorite part! You did a really good job capturing the psx style. The addition of a jitter shader would tie it up really nicely in my opinion. You guys put a good effort into sound design, and it paid off. It added to the spook factor of the game and helped it seem like I was really outside (wouldn't know much about that anyways lol)

Sorry to hear that! I've never come across that bug before but I suspect it has something to do with the flashlight not coming on. Could be related to double clicking the door or something. I hope you were able to complete the game in another playthrough despite the bug. And thanks for the kind words! Iron Lung was definitely an inspiration during the making of this.

Thanks for playing! I tried it out with tetris getting harder, but ultimately decided against it. Didn't want it to be TOO hard lol

Thanks for the kind words!
